Bros, anong bagay na hdmi cable to connect from tv to avr via arc para makuha din ang dolby atmos / dolby vision?
-
sir it's still the normal hdmi cables. just make sure to get the high speed 18Gbps para sa 4k support.
-
Bro Frequenzy thanks, btw does sony x70f or samsung nu7100 smart tv ay dolby atmos capable?
-
^ sir, am I correct to assume you will use the TV's USB movie function or Netflix?
TV's even when they said Atmos-capable only means that they can "read" Atmos encoded materials but will only send upto 5.1 (6ch) audio bed to your AVR. no audio heights information -- even if you use a cable HDMI v2,0a or v2.0b thru HDMI ARC ports. with your AVR, it will say only Dolby Digital 5.1
difference when TV "does not read" Atmos encoded materials, there will be a notification something like: "Audio not supported..." and there will be no sound from the TV speakers, only video. if connected to your AVR via HDMI ARC, it will say UNKNOWN audio
if you have ATMOS capable AVR and have many ATMOS materials or watch NETFLIX Atmos, then buy a separate ATMOS-capable media player
this will be your required HDMI connections:
media player --> HDMI 2.0 --> AVR HDMI OUT --> HDMI 2.0 --> TV's HDMI IN

Any suggestions, why is it that the settings of my Onkyo Avr doesn't seen on LG smart tv. Connections ( hdmi -ArC of TV to ArC of Avr)
-
^ oh CONGRATZ! so you have a 4K Smart TV na :)
it doesn't happen talaga with LG sir when you're "broadcasting" a video-- I mean, when your source from TV is local channels/watching via USB movie or YouTube, the video is one-way. from TV to AVR only, so you won't be able to see the AVR's OSD even the audio info when you press the "i" (INFO) from Onkyo's remote. not sure of other TV's. I already forgot how it is with my Sony TV.
but say, when the TV has no signal input or when the TV's input is the HDMI ARC itself, ayun makikita mo na AVR's OSD >:D

Niether did I. It was recommended to me. When I searched about it, that's when I found out. I got 5 pcs. Very happy with these cables ;)
