it's already confirmed na it'll be blue.

the colors for the books are also Green, Red, and Blue.

(other version has blue for ttt, and red for rotk)..

pero since ttt is read, rotk should be blue.. and it's already been confirmed anyway!

Look what I found!:D Its REGION 2 and I don't know if its legit, but it certainly looks like it. Full info can be found here: http://www.dvddebate.com/article.php?sid=3929&mode=&order=0&thold= And you'll notice the itty-bitty shot of the supposed main menu. It has (I think) Frodo holding up the Phial of Galadriel.

Wow!  If this is bogus (big gap in the line "Preview of Electonic Arts'    Video Game" makes me suspicious  ;)), whoever made it did one heck of a job!

Hope the May 25 release for the theatrical version will be confirmed soon!  ;D

probably the official cover art would be like this :D

latest news:

There are scenes that were cut from the finished film. Will we see them on DVD?

PJ:"We have an hour of footage we shot for "Return of the King" that we didn't put in the movie. I'm going to work on an extended DVD version, though I don't think all of that will make it in because the pacing would be really weird. But there's some good stuff that's not in the book. We did a funny scene between Gimli and Legolas having a drinking competition which I really quite liked, but we felt [it was too comedic] at a point when we wanted to set up the tension of the story. And there's a sequence of Sam and Frodo disguised as orcs where they end up in the orc army for a while."  8)

If you've played the ROTK game, after you've beat the last level and after Gandalf says 'My work is now finished. The work of others, is about to begin.' then the words LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY: COMING 2004 appear. Could be a game or a marathon screening of all 3 extended cuts, it wasn't specified.

It's for a 3rd game. This is EA we're talking about you know. If there's one thing they're good at. it's making a game, and market different versions of it every year.

it's already confirmed narin.

from www.thedigitalbits.com:

This falls in the category of rumor, because New Line has yet to officially announce the title. But we've heard from a number of retailers, indicating that they've been told by the studio to expect the theatrical version of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King on May 25th.

from www.dvddebate.com:

Thanks to Ngylax, we have managed to get hold of what looks to be the official art work and contents listing for EIV's Region 2 release of Lord Of The Rings Return Of The King.

The movie will be presented with an anamorphic widescreen transfer and DD5.1EX English audio. The movie will also boast English subtitles.

Extra features will incude:

Revealing The Secrets Behind The Production Of An Epic Adventure indepth program.
A Final Look At Middle-earth & The War Of The Rings: 6 lordoftherings.net featurettes
Lord Of The Rings Trilogy Outtakes & Bloopers
Original Theatrical Trailer & TV Spots
"Into The West" Annie Lennox music video
Electronic Arts' Lord Of The Rings Trilogy video game preview
An Inside Look At The Special Edition DVD Edition Of Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King.

Of course this could be a very clever "mock-up", but until anything else emerges we'll have to wait and see.

This set is pencilled in for a May 24th release date at the moment; read on for a look at the UK Region 2 cover art.

Good.  malapit na.  i'll get that to complete my first 2 theatrical versions.  Will probabaly just wait for the sutdios to release a complete boxed set extended version of all three.  Then I can buy the preivous extended versions from pinoydvd members disposing of them at reduced prices at the marketplace  ;D

I will most likely buy the Box Set (so long as there are loads and loads of extras in it).  ::) Sigh. I already have the Extended Editions for FOTR and TTT and will buy the ROTK as well. Masyado nang malaki ang expense ko sa Lord of the Rings. No regrets though. Totally worth it.  ;)

May 25, 2004 is a Tuesday.  So it checks out with the usual Tuesday DVD release dates in the US.  I hope they release the R1 locally on or near the US release date.
