BenQ W1070 vs. Acer H6510BD vs. Epson TW5200 ???
Sorry am a noob with projectors. will be placed in the semi-basement so it's a dark room. Distance from the wall is around 10-12 feet and will probably ceiling-mounted & centrally placed. Screen will be manual. What's my best option PJ for both 2D and 3D? and what screen will be the best pair?
So far from what I read in other sites that they prefer the BenQ over the epson due to better PQ. Not sure naman about benQ vs acer.
Thanks guys!
-
5200 epson. perfect ang 10ft dyan. We have them on demo, come drop by
-
Thanks tein! Will definitely demo it in your shop.
-
I have used both BenQ and Acer models, BenQ W1070 is slightly better in 2D PQ than the Acer H6510, as with 3D PQ the Acer doesnt even come close. Im currently using the BenQ W1070. Also read AVSforum for the user feedbacks.
-
I have the 5200 and the 3D is superb. here's a review from PJ central about sub 1000 pjs
http://www.projectorcentral.com/best_projectors_under_$1000.htm
I've also read from forums that for the BenQ 1070 there were firmware issues and that the unit had to be physically present for it to be updated. so that might be a concern for us since we do not have a local BenQ support here.
-
Thanks titor and rulesmeister!
I think the local BenQ distributor is astech pengson, but havent inquired yet where their stores are.
SO far the benq and epson are top choices
-
Go for Epson TW5200.
3D is super mega awesome. :)
-
get the Acer if ambient lighting is a concern. (the H6510BD is a light cannon! ;) )
-
+1 sa acer sobrang panalo...
-
I haven't seen the others but so far My Acer plus darbee video processor = jvc high end hehe...joke lang...so far very happy with my acer/darbee combo.

I bought this Acer H6510BD sa Villman with free 3D glases. Super solved talaga ang mga mata ko. Compared to ordinary office type projector super linaw ng Native 1080p then sama mo pa yung pwede mag 3D I tried on my PS4.
-
How much po kuha nyo sa acer nyo sa villman
-
49500 kuha ko. 12mos to pay. Pwede na.
-
Ok n po sir 12 months to pay pa
-
49500 kuha ko. 12mos to pay. Pwede na.
mas mura pag cash. ;)
-
kaso wala naman ako cash eh. ay meron pala hindi nga lang aabot sa ganun kaya patak patak na lang.
-
Magkano pag cash? Mahirap ba positioning neto since wala syang lens shift?
-

Imo you can't expect a lot of features for these PJ's even the Epson does not have lens shift. suggestion is to mount the pj first before the screen.
-
Magkano pag cash? Mahirap ba positioning neto since wala syang lens shift?
I got my Acer H6510BD for 47500 straight cc payment.
-
wala syang lenshift so keystone mo na lang adjust kung hindi sensitive eyes mo sa effects nun.

Optoma has great reviews. a reason why ang bilis maubusan ng stocks. That was my 1st choice but due to availability ended up with Epson. And most if not all Optoma are DLP so sila dapat i compare sa Benq while Epson's are LCD
-
Good thing is may Optoma Phils na. So no need to worry guys :) parts and labor Phil distro na.
-
Optoma HD141x nasaan ka na?! magparamdam ka naman... presyo naman dyen...

Its unbelievable that the acer 6510 is still priced at 49,500 at villman. The price is still the same when i bought it couple years ago. Pero puede 12 months zero interest sa villman. Ang layo price sa amazon. Pero im wondering paano yun warranty?
-
Thnaks DTNS, will check with my friend kung pwede makisuyo sa kanya
@moks i was hoping mura na lang kase matagal n tong thread, mahal pa din pala. Im using a BENQW500 very old model na but no issues so far, i got it NOS I think 3 years ago
-
If you can adjust your budget to 11k more, I would suggest you get the benq w1070+ bro... PQ is way better than 6510, imo :)
I'm using 1070+ right now... It's best if you can audition both to see the difference. Epson 5200, Acer 6510 and Benq w1070+ are my options before and I was able to audition all of them :)
-
How did you decide to choose the BenQ over the Epson? Dahil DLP vs 3LCD ba?
Also, where do you guys get your replacement bulb for w1070? Kailangan ba original, or pangit yung mga class A/3rd party replacements?

Thnak you nrader reynold, hope, youre doing well.
Of the three you have mentioned, alin dyan ang pinaka madaling ipaayos in case mag karon ng issue?
-
im good brader :)
both units/brands comes with 1 year warranty, i just dont know which of them has a good reputation in terms of after sales service, wala pa naman ako na experience na masiraan, hehe wag sana :)
for benq w1070+, astech pengson ang distributor dito and sa muñoz qc lang ang office nila, at the back of waltermart..
-
Just want to ask where did you buy your BenQ W1070+ and how much does it cost?
Thanks & God bless you always! :)
-
Resurrecting this thread as I'm on the search for a projector at this price point. Or are there other models now available aside from the three? Your inputs are appreciated. Thanks.
-
Latest BenQ models are 2050 and 3050 on this price range, not sure if Astech Pengson available na s kaniLa..

try asking Electroworld branches.

Thank you DTNS..
Question guys, at this price point what's the best project for Gaming and Movies? The Epson 5350 is the US Version of 2045 right? it's around 24.6ms input lag which is great for gaming. I'm considering the Benq 1085st as well.. Can you suggest other projectors that I can consider?

I've read reviews about the Benq 2050.. Seems like it's a good choice.. Downside lang mahal yung lamp.. Also looking at Optoma HD28DSE.. But I think medyo mataas input lag..
-

tama ba to?
Lamp Life : 1500 hours (Standard), 3500 hours (ECO), 4500 Hours (ExtremeECO)?
Parang super ikli naman. one month nga nakaka 150 to 200 hours.

That's what it takes to burn that bright. Eco is still bright enough for most people (4000 ANSI lumens).

I saw one on display at Octagon, Glorietta. so I assume they're available at Octagon branches. I also saw the Z650 listed in PC Express' pricelist. I suggest checking your preferred PCX stores for stock availability first though. it's probably best to check out Acer concept stores like the ones at MegaMall and MOA. ;)

I saw it here as well.. http://asianic.com.ph/product/acer

What's better between the Z650 and Optoma HD50? I think they are similarly priced in the Local market..

It would be too bright for a dark room.
Even on ECO mode. which is around 3000lm it would still be too bright and not comfortable to the eyes. Unless the imaze size is 120 to 150 inches.
But to view that comfortably. You have to be 12 to 15 feet away.
Unless you lots of free space in your home. Or a dedicated HT room. It is not practical

A 108 inch diagonal 16:9 screen will have about 35 square feet of viewable area. 3000 lm will yield about 86 lm per sq ft. With a screen gain of 1.0, it should result in a similar number in foot-lamberts. That is just right for an indoor room with controlled lighting (70 foot-lambert minimum as per SMPTE). 86 foot-lamberts is less than 300 nits and is less intense than most TV sets. UHD Premium sets hit at least 1000 nits (minimum spec).

You can have a lesser lumen projector if you control the light bleeding out from the projector lens.
Imagine that the only light that comes out of your projector is exactly the square image on the projector screen and not lighting up the whole room.
You do not need 3000lm if you control the bleeding light from the projector.
In my case since i controlled the bleeding light from the projector. The only light i see is the one that is on the projector screen.
Unless you want to light up the whole room and deal with reflected light from other surfaces which interferes with your image brightness on the projector screen. Then i guess you really need a bright projector
-
Dark walls, little or no room lighting, an ambient light rejecting screen, and/or a high gain screen will definitely reduce the output requirement from a projector.

Those are better investment than a high lumen/short life lens PJ
A simple hack can be made at almost 0 cost. Cartoon with a rectangular hole big enough for the rectangular image within the conical path of the light in front of the projector lens is enough.

That was what I idea before I upgraded to a 3,000 lumens projector. unfortunately, iba talaga ang 2,500-3,000 lumens vs 1,500 lumens or lower PJ. And mind you, a 3,000 lumens PJ with ambient light is also not that good. it's not simply about the bleeding light. It also has something to din with the reflected light of the screen.
HOWEVER, as master Tony likes to say, "kung saan ka masaya, suportahan taka". If you are satisfied with your PJ, congrats sir!

3000 lumns vs 1500 lumens iba talaga. But you have to consider room size, distance/image size in the absence of outside light.
3000 vs 1500 lumens is not much difference if the image is small we all know that.
But the projector we are thinking about is a 5000lumen/Short life projector vs 3000 lumens longer life PJ.
In general you really do not need 3000 lumens. Unless it is 120ish up image size.
Much more a 5000 lumen PJ.
I have a 300 lumen, 800 lumen and a 3000 lumen PJ.
Try watching a movie with a scene in a sunny bright day with white snow background in a 3000 Lumen PJ in a dark/controlled room 100 inch image size.
I want to know if you can stare/look at it for a few seconds
