Title: How to test HD?

Hi guys,

I'm a new in HD format, I would like to ask how to test the LCD in HD format.  Kahit 720p lang pwede na.  I downloaded a video from microsoft and I tested it in my laptop.  The result was not good.  I would like to ask if I can test my external LCD for HD even if I am limited to VGA output.
