As far as my 2 NAS units go, each unit is automatically assigned a unique IP when connected to the network. Para ring PC or any device na networkable bale.
How many days will it arrive in Philippine shores once we order?
About 10-15 days to reach our warehouse (actual sailing is only 3 days, but it
takes time to strip a shipping container, get the goods examined at Phil.
Customs, pay taxes and duties, etc. Note that there is only one sailing
per week... and then there are Christmas/New Year holidays to contend with.
Depends also on how quickly we reach 30 units and how soon everybody gives
their downpayments.
Realistically, we should expect this in January.

Just curious if streaming 1080p videos through wifi from the etrayz to the xtreamer would be smooth without buffering. I have a Synology server and streaming 1080p videos to my HTPC does a lot of buffering during playback. 720p files only have the initial buffering then it plays smoothly afterwards.

We have a very similar Buffalo N broadband router and when I tried streaming 1080p wirelessly from my Buffalo NAS to the PC, uutal utal utal utal utal every now and then. To think my backbone infrastructure is 100Mbps fiber optic...thus, I switched back to LAN cable. My wired home network is not even Gigabit but problem solved.

Or media player na rin ito without the torrent downloader? Ngayon kasi nakikicopya lang ako movies sa mga workmates ko then watch ko via usb dongle sa pio dv-600av ;D

They haven't released much info on the camera yet.
IP cameras can be wired or wireless. I would think they would offer both. Pre-release info indicate that PTZ (Pan, Tilt and Zoom) control of the cameras will be available. You will also be able to use Axis (and Axis-compatible) IP cameras with the eTRAYz (Axis cameras are expensive).
No idea how many can be connected - but I'm guessing a minimum of 16 manageable cameras and possibly up to 256 logically addressable cameras. The software will be responsible for how many you can view simultaneously on-screen. If you view too many at a time, bandwidth for each channel will be reduced, resulting in choppy video.

I just received an email from MVIX, advising that our eTRAYz
are shipped with the latest firmware Ver 1.0.3.
This version has no compatibility issues with hard disk drives,
according to the manufacturer.

ETA Philippines is Feb. 7. We'll need a few days to clear Philippine Customs.
Here is the gist of what I got from the update notes:
- fixes HDD Sleep Mode unstabiity
- {e-TRAYz connector} fixes unstable connection problem : more stable.
I will ask MVIX if the LCC problem with WD HDDs has been solved.
