I know there are threads about rare or most valuable DVDs, but I thought one thread could focus on out-of-print DVDs. This would be helpful, as for example I did not even know I had OOPs and was about to sell some but am now rethinking.
So what are the out-of-print DVDs in your collection? I hope the experts can verify, but here's mine:

....this one is up for re-release....just not sure but Jack Ryan movies are up for re-release, this one is one of them I think.

OOP - no longer being manufactured, but may still be on sale. There are sites that list them, like DVD Talk.
And thanks for pointing out that my Basic Instinct with ice-pick pen is OOP.

can be out of production but they are available in some online stores at average prices (some discounted). if you can't find them, last resort would be ebay or different marketplace and sellers.
one good oop dvd to look for! spinal tap criterion collection ;D sometimes fetched to almost 200 usd :o

i may be wrong... but i think the version that Patriot has is the first batch of Platoon (Artisan and Contemporary Classics by MGM) . It is OOP already the last time i checked with Tower Records. For reference, Rnold is selling this title for P600 - P700 ata..

i think both hemisphere, these are first release versions of platoon in dvd and now oop. you can still see the thx certification on the left cover. the ones available now in the market are special editions with newer transfer in anamorphic formats while the latter in letterbox widescreen. you won't see a thx certification on the newer cover of the dvd.

Brother viper, I am astounded! I used to listed to the soundtrack of that movie over and over and over and over again when I was a kid (the whole sountrack was by queen). grabe - halos memorize ko na yung movie na yan.

WWF DVDs not WWE DVDs
After A Losing Effort in Maintaing WWF trademark by World Wrestling Entertainment back in 2001 against World WildLife Fund, they discontinued and pull out all WWF Materials/Sales and even WWF DVDs
Since then, new releases are under WWE Logos
As far as the WWF DVDs pricetag is concerned ... the original $15-$20 cost back in year 2000 below jacked up now on auction markets / black markets ranging from $50 to $70

newbie po... so what's special about this Flash Gordon dvd?

Around 1998, Flash Gordon by Image Entertainment released in Snapper Case was recalled from the market.
The reason: because of a mastering flaw. The DVD's sound was encoded with a discrete left and discrete right channel soundtrack instead of its proper surround stereo soundtrack.
