as sir Mark's usual advice, ilabas mo ng konti ang center speaker if di kayang ipatong sa topmost. wala naman atang takip ang upper potion ng rack so no need to move your center everytime you need it. since monochromatic ang color scheme ng place mo mas lumutang ang gears -- ganda!

yes sir it was featured before na chambahan lang :) noted, ill move the center speaker.
im saving for a sub to replace my old one, hirap when i showed my wife the subs that i like wala daw malalagyan. We dont have that much space. The only option is to place the sub on the side of the small table (with candles) in the dining area. Since exposed wires is a no no here :) have to create a hole so the power cord and wires of the sub can pass through the wall.

Tama ... and the left & right speakers would also sound better if they are mounted beside the TV. Kasi nasa tabi sila ngayon ng walls and the principle is to locate the speakers as far from the wall as practically possible. Otherwise, some bass frequencies will be over-emphasized and that will "muddy" the sound.
You should also "toe-in" the speakers so that they point at the ears of the listener. You will get better high frequency response that way. For the center speaker, try to tilt them a bit upwards so that the tweeter also points at the ears.

Tell us if you hear a difference with the difference in speaker position. Also point them inwards, towards your head.

since you said you dont have adequate space for a sub. i suggest you look at the svs pc series (tubular) subs, space saving but definitely goes deep too.
i will let the others guide you to where you can find this sub... ;D

played Dave matthews "crash into me" and during the intro parang merong echo yung acoustic guitar (if you're not familiar to the song baka hindi mo marinig). Eto yung speakers placed near the walls. ???
Played the same track but this time the speakers are placed near the TV, almost ear level and angled ng konti. wala na yung echo and mas clear. ;D ;D ;D

Oooops hindi naman po ganon. :( You dont need to upgrade your gears if you are still very much happy with it,wag ka muna pumatol sa kantyaw ;D biro lang po lahat yon or sometimes inggit yung iba kaya gusto ka isubo sa alanganin ;D ;D ;D. Just keep in mind, you dont have to please anybody but your wife and yourself, basta happy ka na you have to be contented na. Yung tweaks naman, very minor po yon and most of the time libre mo makukuha yon sa ating mga fellow members ;)

It would also help if you bring out the center speaker a little more into the room. Make it jut out a little bit from the edge of the shelf. It's not good for any speaker to be enclosed and the center speaker happens to be the most important. Aside from "boundary effects," you also get other problems like diffraction.

Btw, nice Grado phones! I have the SR-60 and they rock! Any chance you know where to buy spare pads? Mine are almost shredded :D

Thanks Sir! I will show your post to the Missis:) it was her who designed the cabinet and the rack, i just showed her the gears (i brought her with me when we auditioned the gears in Mr. Avshop's place) she took their dimensions and voila. Saw your HT pictures in the galerry, very nice and neat sir oh and great gears, In fact B&W's (685's) was my first choice but it just beyond my reach ;D
I bought my Sr80 from a tipidpc seller and im sure he does not have the pads to sell. You can check out this audio store in powerplant the one beside starbucks near the cinema. The last time i checked they have Grado headphones but not really sure if they sell the pads. :)

Hi Sir, if you're referring to the sofa seen in the magazine, yep that can turn into a bed. we bought that sofa in Dimensione (hold on maybe that was play and display) anyway it was this store in glorietta 3 beside gourdo's and if i remember correctly it was priced around 17-19k back then. ill ask my wife for the name of store tomorrow.
