Warner Bros Television and Warner Bros' DC Entertainment have announced plans for a new Wonder Woman TV series, with The Practice's David E. Kelley slated to come on board as writer and producer. No other details about this project were made known, other than that it will remain separate from the still-in-development hell Wonder Woman movie.

haha! can't imagine how they'll pull it off... even smallville seems afraid of wearing the iconic tights and briefs. paano pa kaya yung star-sprangled panties? oh well, baka nga yung goth girl outfit ang gamitin.
-
Didn't Wonder Woman change her costume in the comics recently? I think it's more appropriate to the times.

Both her costume & her origin was changed by writer J. Michael Straczynski, to the chagrin of many fans.

I wonder who will play Diana/Wonder Woman. :o :o :o

Wonder Woman TV Show Not Moving Forward
by SuperHeroHype
Jan 8th, 2011
Entertainment Weekly reports that the David E. Kelley-scripted "Wonder Woman" series wasn't able to find a home, as all the major broadcasters have passed on the project:
Warner Bros. TV was actively shopping a script from David E. Kelley that updated the period tale about an Amazon princess who battled Nazis and other bad guys during World War II. One source close to the project said the Wonder Woman team won't give up on the project, even though it's "not moving forward at this time."
The magazine suggests that one of the deciding factors may have been the cost of the series, which the studio requiring a license fee for its superhero.

i'd say all the better. warner should focus their efforts on the long in gestation planned movie. something tells me everything hinges on how the green lantern flick pans out come june.

NBC Picks Up Wonder Woman After All
by SuperHeroHype
Jan 22nd, 2011
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that NBC has picked up David E. Kelley's new "Wonder Woman" pilot after all! The network was the final one to pass on the show over a week ago, but that was before the new regime headed by chairman Robert Greenblatt was officially in place in light of the impending Comcast takeover. The magazine reports:
One factor that seemed to have sunk the Wonder Woman project the first time around was the price of rebooting the series, with the studio requiring a rich license fee to bring the iconic character back to life. But then, NBC has been down this road before: It rebooted Bionic Woman. Kelley’s take incorporated the superhero’s signature lasso, cuffs, and plane in the script, and insiders said it was a serious, non-campy take on the DC Comics character.
Now the big question is who should play Wonder Woman?

But then, NBC has been down this road before: It rebooted Bionic Woman.
And we all know what happened to it, LOL. :D
Hopefully this Wonder Woman reboot doesn't tank.

McG Directing Wonder Woman?
He's rumoured for the TV pilot...
26 January 2011 | Source: TV Line
Depending on your view of the man’s directorial abilities, this rumour will either have you punching the air with hopeful cheer or reaching for the lasso of sorrow: McG is apparently the front-runner to direct the pilot for the new Wonder Woman TV series.
For a while, it looked like the character would never make it back to our screens. Long in development as a film, Warners decided late last year to think again and take a shot at getting their heroine back on the goggle box, where, after all, she was relatively successful in the first place. Step one was locking in veteran show creator David E Kelley to take a shot at bashing out a script which the Warners TV bods could to show to the various US networks.
Who all passed on it.
But then, in a sudden twist, NBC decided to take a chance on the show, with new executive Bob Greenblatt deciding that maybe Kelley – and, by extension, Princess Diana – deserved a chance to make it work. It doesn’t hurt that Kelley has also crafted a legal drama for the network (Harry’s Law featuring Kathy Bates as – guess what? – a quirky lawyer) that has gained decent early ratings.
With the ambitious script now back in play, the producers need someone to get it made. And while he hasn’t yet had a meeting about the job, Joseph McGinty Nichol is the favourite to win the task.
While he’s not exactly crafted the best films featuring kick-ass women (neither of the Charlie’s Angels movies is all that great), he does at least have solid credentials in TV*, having helped launch the likes of Chuck, Supernatural and, more recently, Nikita. Plus, with his cinematic career still ticking, he’ll only likely be on board to punch out the pilot. And for now, his participation is simply limited to his name appearing on Warner Bros. TV’s wish list…

Veronica Cale? Too bad, she would've made a great Circe instead.

Wouldn't Elizabeth Hurley and CGI look better as Wonder Woman? With a Brit accent pa? Hehehe

lynda carter continues to be a tough act to follow. ;)

I was about to say,...

the pic looks like it's from a cheapo Halloween costume catalog. ;D
i don't mind the upper part though, heh... but those shiny blue pants have got to go.
-
>:( The costume's a mess! Totally unflattering!

wow that costume sucks!
i smell early cancellation.

This SHOULD be the costume. Anything else will simply not do.
-
mganda pa ang costume ni darna dito! :D
-
Actually, fashionable ang tights and leggings these days.
Ang nagdala kay Linda Carter was her size 38 naturally bouncy boobs and not her "warren-style-underwear".
Problema this time, medyo maliit ng di hamak ang hinaharap ng bagong Wonder Woman.

In fact the new Wonder Woman costume in the comics also has leggings, only that they are black & not metallic blue.

A bunch of set pictures has surfaced wherein Adrianne Palicki is spotted wearing a changed Wonder Woman costume. It seems that NBC & the show's creators has listened to fan outcry over the first official photo.

Good thing they ditched the high heels...less streetwalker chic, more action girl chic
-
still say it sucks. :-[
-
I think it actually looks worse. At least the first was uniformly campy. Now it still has the glossy-plasticy top... with maong with stars? ???

there's still something off with the costume.
-
i think it's impossible to keep to the original costume without it looking funny. but what's missing here is the goddess look of Lynda Carter.
this new actress has zero charisma (at least with the black hair and lipstick) . i think she looks 10x better as a blonde
(http://www.xtremewalls.com/hollywoodf/adriannepalicki/adrianne-palicki-034-01.jpg)
-
^that's just it. lynda carter IS princess diana. anyone else stepping into that costume would have a tough act to follow.
-
i have no idea who lynda carter is, though i googled her. lol. and indeed, i think she does own the wonder woman role.
-
i am saddened by this development...wonder woman is indeed a tough character to write and sell. how can she be a feminist model in skimpy clothes in a modern world? hmm... maybe they should have gone the smallville route, amazon teenager/outsider in man's world? or thor? arrogant princess banished to mortal world? ewan!
and XanderCage, you unwittingly made all of us feel very old! :D
-
and last year I thought Megan Fox is gonna play the part.
-

well you should see her in the pilot for the series. dun ako na inlab ng husto ke wondy.
OT: does anybody know cathy lee-crosby of that's incredible also played wondy prior to miz carter?
and you thought the new wondy was bad.
-

LOL, good thing that really bad Cathy Lee Crosby pilot tanked. They had to title Lynda Carter's pilot as The New Original Wonder Woman to differentiate it from Crosby's trainwreck.
And let's not forget Debra Winger, who actually appeared in several episodes as Wonder Girl, and did a pretty good job too ;D

The pilot's online at "your usual sources." ;)
-
just downloaded this pero di ko pa napanuod.
kala ko cancelled na to? or pilot lang yung natapos nila bago na cancel?
tinest ko sya and adrienne palicki sure looked hot.
-
kala ko cancelled na to? or pilot lang yung natapos nila bago na cancel?
Yes, pilot lang natapos nila bago na cancel.
-
just "procured" this. will watch it tonight when i get home. is it really only 40 minutes long?
-
Things got better when she reverted to the "classic" WW costume (not pants).
-
^ agree, but i can see why this was not picked up. awful, imo. shades of halle's catwoman and alley mcbeal thrown in a blender.
-
That final confrontation scene down the hallway had me laughing so hard... ;D
-
The problem is, it looks more like one of those homemade fan films than a serious production. Wonder Woman is a daytime superhero, just like Superman or Spider-Man. That's why she has those bright colors, so that people would really notice her as she passes by. Most of her scenes were done at night. It just doesn't make sense.
What doesn't make sense either is the plot. It's terrible and unbelievable. I haven't read Wonder Woman in a while but is that really what Wonder Woman is in the comics?
-
Good gawd! This Wonder WOman is hawt!
