I think it is especially part 3 (american wedding), which happened to be my favorite.. Merry Christmas..

In the very first film, a teenager has sex with an apple pie. Another drinks beer that contains his friend's semen. Another has sex with a high school classmate's mother.

Unless you mean "adult film" as in pornographic film, I think we can come to an agreement on the answer to your question.

I'd give it a hard  "R". Ever since the pie-violation scene, the only thing that may rival that are those Jackass films.

Something is telling me that we have a prepubescent member here cautiously treading on the risky realization of choosing a film without having to tip the wrath of mom and dad.

You're right Mr. Hankey.

However, After I watched the whole series on our VCD player, American Pie 1, 2, and 3 are great but 4, 5, 6, 7, are a major turnoff. In fact it doesn't look like an American Pie movie but an adult film made it on to the big screen. Especially "The book of love", and it's painful to watch...you will not laugh at all and sometimes It can be offensive like: The girls are running outside naked.  :o

yes, that's true...but it's not part 7, it's part 4 (don't be confused with the spin-off Direct to Video of American Pie).

I think Universal actually anticipated potential real sequels, which is why the direct to video features are called "American Pie PRESENTS: (Title)" instead of "American Pie: (Title)."
