Title: Generic DVD player with Optical Input?

Meron bang generic dvd player na may optical input for 5.1 DTS/DD decoding? yung katulad ng mga dvd players ng HTIB. meron kasi akong 5.1 speaker setup na hindi nagagamit. ayoko naman gumastos ng malaki para sa mga branded na receivers.

eh sa mga branded meron ba? yung hindi HTIB ha.

Wala rin akong alam rin. Noong araw may tinitindang mga decoder na may optical input (noong hindi pa uso mga AVR). Ewan ko kung merong second hand. Puwede mag baka sakali, tignan mo sa MSM Surplus sa Cubao o HMR Pasig baka meron doon.

I'm not sure pero yung HUG brand na dvd player nabili nung anak ko noon sa divisoria e may radio and pwedeng kabitan ng speakers. Nasira din kasi kaya naidispose na so i don't know kung meron itong input whether optical o coaxial. I think sa Ace Hardware merong katulad nito, ACE din ang brand nung dvd player at meron ding telescopic antena for the  radio so para din syang mini-receiver.

Sir are you sure na meron syang optical Input? Baka po sir Optical out po iyon pa check na lang po ng maiige..

Pero di ba output nga ang kailangan para sa connection ng 5.1 speaker system? Assuming its in the same mold as Logitech Z5500. ::)

Yes sir tama po... ang need is optical output para connect sa mga avr...the purpose of getting an optical input or coax input is para ma process ng player mo yung audio from other sources..most of the time yung gantong mga player has a good DAC for audio.. this feature is usuall available sa mga HTIB..HTH..
