These one came from my previous Panny AX100 PJ. Actually the picture is sharper and clearer than the ones posted.  Still haven't perfected the screenshot photo taking...

the screenshots do not do justice to the actual quality of the PJ's ... probably downloadable hi-res pics and some recommendations from our expert photographers in the forum would help ... hindi kasi ganon kadali kumuha ng magandang quality na screenshot unless tama settings ng camera

Agree, but it does give the reader a sense of the scope of the picture. Especially if the reader does not have a PJ. It was for me before I acquired a PJ  ;)

for example, here's me and my screen in my previous HT.
The size comparison helps the imagination a lot.  :)

I was able to borrow from Bro Louie18 to test the Darbee Darblet in my Epson 8350.  My primary purpose is to use XBMCs internal player as I would like to utilize its functions such as downloading subtitles on the fly and to also to use the MCE remote navigational buttons instead of the mouse functions. Presently I am using Splash PRO as an external player to XBMC as it has better PQ than the internal player.  Problem is that Splash PRO has very limited functions.  You cannot even change the aspect ratio of the material you are watching. But the advantage of Splash PRO is its PQ and having a motion flow or Soap opera effect feature for those displays that doesn't have it.  Can the Darbee + XBMC internal player replace the external Splash PRO program? Here are the results of my test with the Darbee.

The Darbee is a small nifty, plug and play device with a card type remote.

At the back you will see that this product is Made in USA! Seldom do we see products such as this not made in P.R.C. (http://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/10.gif)

I then attached an HDMI cable from my receiver connecting to the Darbee and another HDMI cable from the Darbee to my PJ.

I turned on my HTPC.  An onscreen menu can be accessed when you pressed MENU on the remote.  The remote by the way is IR.

There is a demo mode wherein Darbee will divide your screen into 2.  The left side is without Darbee and the right side is with Darbee activated.

At first, I was skeptical with the product.  But after seeing it work, I think, the Darbee is a worthwhile purchase. It doesn't need rocket science knowledge to fire it up.

The pictures are crappy as I didn't have time anymore to have more optimal camera settings. But at least you get the idea.

Note: One thing I failed to do though is comparing Splash PRO vs. XBMC internal player + Darbee.  I tried changing the playercorefactory to make Splash PRO as external player but somehow the HTPC wasn't cooperative. (http://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/14.gif)  I need more time to tweak it again. (http://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/46.gif)

*I am not in anyway a seller or distributor of Darbee.

Thanks again Master Louie18 for lending me the product. (http://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/113.gif)

great comparison. Naghanap din ako nang ganitong topic the other day pero wala akong nakita comparison.

Napakaganda ng experient mo sir. We all know Splash Pro is a good player and display good quality picture plus the motion2x.

Btw, un comparison ay direct SPLASH PRO vs DARBEE? In conclusion, no match ba ang Splash Pro compare sa Darbee in terms of PQ? So....

If u were to choose.... HTPC + Splash Pro   or   DARBEE + NMT ( i now have xtreamerSW3).... alin route pillin nyo?
" if aspect ratio is not a concern ".

with the addidtion of Darbee, pwd na rin ba hindi mag upgrade from 720p Acer5360 to FullHD Acer6510?

ur input sir is highly appreciated. SALAMAT!

Post by: nerveblocker on Oct 14, 2013 at 02:21 PM
For those who have untweakable sources such as an NMT or BD player, I think the Darbee would be real worth it.  On the other hand, those who have HTPCs with a dedicated video card + a very good media player such as Splash PRO, it can go head to head with an NMT/BD player + Darbee.  The dissuading factor of HTPCs is the technical aspects of it. The Darbee takes care of that that i.e. no more major tweaking etc. just simple plug and play and you get excellent video quality.

I am not saying that an HTPC will not benefit from a Darbee.  There is always a lot of headroom for improving a seemingly perfect picture. (http://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/1.gif)

I cant see any reason para magkaproblema yung Popcorn Hour nyo coz external connection nila nang Darbee.
Its no different from any other connection like mine...

Brader Weng, right after ng receiver nakakabit si Darbee...
15 meters yung HDMI cable from Darbee to PJ :)

I calibrated my Sony VPL-HW40es using my Disney WOW Calibration BD.
