yes, you can use nmts to play your FLACs.

i am using the Kaiboer 1055 with very good result.

if you have the budget, get a popcorn hour c300.

just do a search for more info.

You can get your music to sound better if you hooked up your NMT to a DAC.

I agree. My Kaiboer 1055 coax is connected to a Monica DAC.

The  Pioneer VSX520 has a built in DAC (D/A Converter192 kHz / 24-bit).

Yes, just connect the nmt to your pioneer.
I am satisfied with the  Kaiboer 1055 (P2.5K) for audio use.

thanks. i'm looking into the KAIBOER H1073C+ Network HD Media Player. i need the BT download feature to give my laptop a rest (at para makatipid na rin ng onti sa kuryente  ;D)

I'm using my popcornhour connected to my Onkyo 705 via HDMI to play my FLAC files and music is just great!!!  You should have a speaker system that will complement your player and receiver.. I'm not an audiophile but to my ears, the music I hear is just great!!  ;D ;D

according to my officemate, his recently bought kaiboer 1055plus is having trouble playing flac files. it might be the firmware, i don't know..

Clarify ko lang bro.  This is if the NMT output is analog, right?

I've my XTreamer hooked up via HDMI and the optical out.

imho, downside lang when using your NMT as your audio source (flac, ape, mp3), you need to power on your flat panel as well... :D, para lang makapag navigate through your collections folders... other than that, ayos na ayos ang NMT as audio source.

I guess that depends on the FLAC file that he's playing. I don't think it supports multichannel FLAC and 2 channel ones beyond 48/24. He can convert the files to tagless WAV files though, if he wants maximum compatibility.

If the budget is available, dedicated audio streamers from Linn, Naim, Bryston, etc. support higher quality formats (and have higher quality outputs).

Hi, I'm using Xtreamer SW connected to pioneer AVR via optical. when i play mp3s from my HDD, it seems that there's no Bass coming from the sub. It's ok naman if I play mkvs. I tried changing it ti Stero format pero yung 2 satellites lang ang may sound. what can I do to produce bass from the sub. tia.

Dati gamit ko xtreamer for playing music, pero when I tried onkyo receiver to play my music files, I was mesmerized...  ;D

Kaya either via network or USB ako nagplay ng music using onkyo hehe!!!

hi bro, i've tried looking for this setting sa xtreamer but all i see is the dolbyhd/dts type of setting. i already chose all 3 options pero wala parin sounds coming from the sub. i tried connecting the audio connectors and then set the yamaha avr to auto and analog para maka detect ng analog signal pero same result.

Note: the avr is already in stereo mode para 2.1 mode sya pero 2 channels(l/r) lang talaga ang may sound. The sub is working fine on mkv files(dolby/dts). thanks.

Dont know if PS3 is considered as an NMT but i'm using it to play my music files. so far the results are amazing. Problem lang is i need to convert pa my flac files to wav for the ps3 to play.. but so far ang ganda nang tunog. Pag dating nang NMT ko i will be able to compare sino mas magandang source... :)

I think the NMT complements the Receiver DAC for music playback kasi the quality is for a good HT set-up. For a stereo audiophile set-up, you may want an upgrade. Digital output from PC using good soundcards is somehow better than NMT connected to the same DAC. Digital output from integrated mobo with digital out is similar to NMT - ymmv.

So far i'm enjoying my NMT as a music source via Analog connection, parang bright kasi pag Optical(or maybe its just me?) Though meron merong difference nang volume pag optical vs Analog.

I'm still thinking of putting DAC, i just dont know kung merong major difference in SQ pag naglagay ako DAC.

Yes, I believe so. Better borrow a DAC to be sure.

re: squeezbox touch

im sure meron na din nyan, but i havnt seen one yet. its a bit pricey, retails at around US$290++. ang nakita ko lang sa greenhills was the cheaper model. maganda lng dito is that hindi na kailangan magbukas ng tv monitor to navigate the nmt because may built-in screen na and my usb host for external drives plus dami pang cool features. so dac + integrated amp na lng good to go na for pure audio listening  :)

I was actually looking for a small LCD that i can use just to navigate, tipong mga 8" lang...Yung mga LCD monitor na pang kotse pwede na yun..

Music streamer lang ata ang Logitech Squeezebox, kaya it's not a media tank (walang storage function).

Maraming music streamers out there, there are good ones (Cambridge, Marantz, Arcam, Rotel, Yamaha, Olive, etc.) and higher end ones (Linn, Naim, Bryston, Raumfeld, McIntosh, Meridian, Sooloos, etc.) too.

I had the same thought to use a small LCD TV for navigating our NMT when listening to music.  I have to check though if the composite video out works while the HDMI output is also connected but I don't have a composite video screen anymore.  Those car LCD TV should work.

The Panasonic P42V20 has a "Panel Off" feature which lets me turn off just the display of the TV to save electricity.  The display comes back on when I press any key so it is not too inconvenient.

About 8-10 inches ata yung mga yun... Natatakot lang ako baka di naman tumagal.

This is one reason why I like VA albums - start playing and then just let the whole folder run.  The XTreamer doesn't have a playlist that seems convenient for me.

I'm also looking that those LCD picture frames but so far I haven't found one with a video input.  There's CDRking at the basement of Podium.   Will go on my lunch break.

Pogi nga yung Logitech but rather expensive I would think.

parang pwede syang magfunction as an nmt because it has a usb host port, so it can accomodate an external hdd, aside from an sd, or kung wireless, thru networking function.

ok sana talaga ang ipod especially on file management. problem is i dont know if it can already support flac and other lossless formats. at kung puro lossless ang laman, sigurado ubos ang storage ng ipod.

instead of flac sir, it uses aiff or apple lossless.

Networked music player nga siya then (not purely a streamer). Sonos isn't exactly on my list kung maghahanap ako ng player at that price range, though they make very convenient devices.

Apple Lossless ata ang supported ng iPod, pero limited to 16/48 only. Pwede tumunog ng maganda ang iPod with a nice transport and DAC.

Before may Sonos ang Architectural Audio, but I'm not sure kung meron pa.

For higher quality streamers, try AVDI (Bryston), Architectural Audio (Naim) or Toyama (Linn).

Buhayin ko lang to and ask kung pano manage music files sa NMT if ever use it as music source, is there something like a play list parang sa pc like winamp? Gano kabilis mag load yung files if 1TB or 2TB discs with current pinaka mura NMTs like xtreamer elvira or kaiboer equivalent...

I plan to use a DAC by the way if this route is selected. The other is just IPOD classic, dock then audio set-up.

The reason Im looking for this is that my AVR really shines when the audio is higher than most NMTs default (44/16). So I use PS3 now as my preferred audio source than an NMT but it cant play all my movie/audio files. Time to upgrade to a new NMT na sana.
