The replacement to the HD 5450 is even better! This one scores the highest in HD HQV 2.0 tests - as high as the 5570 at about 188! But with half the power consumption.
Unlike the HD 5450 - this card can run all the AMD post processing enhancements, does 23.976 fps mode unlike the Intel Sandy Bridge iGPU (Core i3 and up), Blue Ray, HDMI and 3D support gives the card everything you need at the highest quality. Except gaming of course - even light gaming is not possible for this card.

Unfortunately this is only on soft launch in the US. Will get this one. Im holding off on the AMD Brazos - the board costs Php 5,600 - quite expensive for what it does. You can get a cheap mobo, entry level sempron and HD 5450 for less! Wheres the fusion is cheaper in this?

Based on various review sites and the results of HQV tests, this is now:
the BEST HTPC consumer video card available as of this time.
To those wanting the very best video and sound quality, the HTPC is still the best device for video playback and this is the best video card you can get for this purpose.
Hoping this becomes available soon in the Philippines. This should cost less than Php 3,000.
The downside with HTPC is you would just want to throw it out the window in frustration. The ' it just simply works' does not apply to the PC. But when an HTPC works, connected to an audiophile system - its almost perfect. That is until incompatibilities disable key features of your media software during upgrades, tsk...

quick question bro
is my hd 6470 better than 6450?
laptop dedicated vga lang kasi sya. :)
-
ATI HD6470M is for laptops only. no desktop version.
compared to HD6450M, it is clocked higher so expect performance to be a bit better.
Radeon HD6470M 160@700/750MHz
Radeon HD6450M 160@600MHz

Great! where can we get these babies? Also, would you know if they come with low profile brackets?
-
^yes, comes with low-profile brackets.

just recently tested an iron man 2 bluray, ayaw lumabas ng hd audio sa receiver.
yun pala di supported ng ati hd 4850 ang hd audio bitstream. lol.
balak ko bumili nito since di na rin naman ako naglalaro. hehe. pero mukhang mas ok pag HD 6950 na lang. ;D

LPCM ba ang lumabas bro?
-
Malaki kaya difference nito sa performance compared to HD5450?
-
As a side note:
Graphic manufacturers do funny things across a product line. As you go up, sometimes and often video quality goes down. The priority is gaming when you go more expensive and if this means getting a bit lower video playback quality is a non issue - they expect you to get a HTPC card for video anyway.
As such when you look at reviews, look specifically for the card you want! A higher end HD 6xx card may actually have inferior video quality! Based on HQV tests.

if you currently own an HD5450, you don't necessarily need to upgrade to HD6450.
playing Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children 1080p MKV (10.9GB).. the HD5450 (1GB DDR3) is only at 35% utilization.
HTPC Spec:
Intel Pentium Dual Core E5400
Asus HD5450 SILENT 1GB DDR3 Low Profile
4GB DDR3 RAM
KMPlayer with DXVA On
(http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff398/temp_album_photo_2/Forums/KMP_DXVA_On.jpg)
comparing Radeon HD5450 (512MB DDR3) with Radeon HD6450 OEM (512MB DDR3), they would give comparable results. i will assume that Radeon HD5450 (1GB DDR3) vs Radeon HD6450 (1GB DDR3) will behave the same way.
Radeon HD5450 (512MB DDR3) vs Radeon HD6450 OEM (512MB DDR3)
http://www.hwcompare.com/10153/radeon-hd-5450-vs-radeon-hd-6450-oem/ (http://www.hwcompare.com/10153/radeon-hd-5450-vs-radeon-hd-6450-oem/)
Power Consumption
Radeon HD5450 = 19 Watts
Radeon HD6450 = 31 Watts
Memory Bandwidth
Both cards have the exact same memory bandwidth, so theoretically they should perform exactly the same.
Radeon HD5450 = 12800 Mb/sec
Radeon HD6450 = 12800 Mb/sec
Texel Rate
The Radeon HD 5450 is a little bit (more or less 4%) more effective at texture filtering than the Radeon HD 6450 (OEM).
Radeon HD5450 = 5200 Mtexel/sec
Radeon HD6450 = 5000 Mtexel/sec
Pixel Rate
If using a high screen resolution is important to you, then the Radeon HD 5450 is a better choice, but it probably won't make a huge difference.
Radeon HD5450 = 2600 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD6450 = 2500 Mpixels/sec

you will see more improvement when you go with Radeon HD6450 (1GB GDDR5).
Radeon HD5450 (512MB DDR3) vs Radeon HD6450 OEM (1GB DDR5)
http://www.hwcompare.com/10295/radeon-hd-5450-vs-radeon-hd-6450-oem-1gb/ (http://www.hwcompare.com/10295/radeon-hd-5450-vs-radeon-hd-6450-oem-1gb/)
Power Consumption
Radeon HD5450 = 19 Watts
Radeon HD6450 (1GB DDR5) = 31 Watts
Memory Bandwidth
Theoretically speaking, the Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB should perform a lot faster than the Radeon HD 5450 overall.
Radeon HD5450 = 12800 Mb/sec
Radeon HD6450 (1GB DDR5) = 28800 Mb/sec
Texel Rate
The Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB is a small bit (approximately 15%) more effective at anisotropic filtering than the Radeon HD 5450.
Radeon HD5450 = 5200 Mtexel/sec
Radeon HD6450 (1GB DDR5) = 6000 Mtexel/sec
Pixel Rate
The Radeon HD 6450 (OEM) 1GB is a bit (more or less 15%) more effective at FSAA than the Radeon HD 5450, and also should be able to handle higher resolutions more effectively.
Radeon HD5450 = 2600 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD6450 (1GB DDR5) = 3000 Mpixels/sec
