Post by: garfield03 on May 29, 2011 at 10:22 PM
Hi...any feedback from this unit is welcome to post. I think some people from other site have bought this. It had the same chipset as A3HD. So any A3HD buyer also welcome to give feedback.

Thanks!

Hi don't know what you mean by remove. well while playing press the OSD button sa remote. That handles the subtitle.

Got one kanina and tested it. First thing i noticed, ang bilis ng boot! Less than 8 seconds. I could beilieve it so i literally turn it off and on again just to confirm. Very practical for it's price. I already have an NMT and extra external HDDs. This A1HD will definitely serve as my bedroom NMT. External HDD na lang ang bitbit ko from one room to another. And it's full HD. Planning to get another for my audio system. A1HD has only 1 digital output. I still have yet to configure my HTIB para ma-process niya yun DTS or DD signal. Haven't tested it on my receiver pero i'm sure this is capable. For P2,200, you can't go wrong with the A1HD. A super affordable and definitely bang for the buck NMT.

Hello my friend, as long as your car power adaptor output is 5.6V 2A, it is no problem!

i bought 1 kanina. Impression initially was ok, mabilis mag boot and simple gui. i initially tried it with HDMI. maganda nga but the volume was kinda weak so i tried hooking it up to my HTIB using RCAs- no sound at all. it only plays sounds either via hdmi only or thru rca AV. di pala pwede mixed unlike the e8hd. so if i'm going to use my htib for speakers i have to use rca for video also. sana may update ng firmware for this. 1 more thing that bothered me was the power supply. initially i thought maganda kasi makapal wiring hirap i bend or straighten dahil sa kapal then i noticed a break in the insulation. manipis lang insulation nya and because of the thickness of the wire madali mapunit. i had it replaced immediately. now i'm wondering baka pwede gamitin yung sa e8hd power supply kasi pareho lang requirement ng players. mas maganda power adapter ng e8hd

Got 1 yesterday.

Full HD capability was really a big help in terms of PQ.

connected the digital out to my HTiB and ganda ng SQ.

Some movies (DL's) may defect ang sound sa RAW kaya ginagawa kong normal PCM at ok na.

Yes boot up is quick nga, kaka power on ko pa lang lalabas na kaagad yung menu screen e.

So far super easy ang mag setup.

Very very sulit of its price!!!

may fix na ba nito? yung pwede na mixed connection (hdmi for video then rca for audio)..

wala ata firmware upgrade ang a1hd. another problem that you should watch out for is the power supply because it not a perfect fit sa console. the wires are too thick pero manipis lang insulation kaya prone to breakage... replaced mine already. pagnagalaw yung wire while naka on sometimes nagrereset yung unit kaa feeling ko masama yun for the harddrive

Kumuha ako ng A3HD last Saturday kay sir annot (sa shop niya sa Eton Cyberpod). Plays 1080p MKV files smoothly, tsaka yung digital out gumagana din through Optical cable.

Eto lang napansin ko:

Music player - may times na kapag nag-play ako ng MP3 files thru 2.5" internal HDD, then press "Home" or "Back" button sa remote, mag-hang yung screen, pero tumutuloy pa rin yung music.. although hindi ka na makaka-alis doon sa Music player display (kahit pindutin mo yung power-off button sa remote), kaya kelangan mo tanggalin ang saksakan :(

(http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo190/monicogalicia/PDVD/MY-HTSETUP/th_measy-a3hd-music-player.jpg) (http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo190/monicogalicia/PDVD/MY-HTSETUP/measy-a3hd-music-player.jpg)

RAW sound - gumagana siya nung nanood ako nung 1080p/MKV/AC3 movie, pero kapag nag-fastforward/rewind ako, nawawala yung sound. ang work-around, is to stop the movie, then play it again para gumana ulit yung sound. other work-around is to use the "PCM" sound.

(http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo190/monicogalicia/PDVD/MY-HTSETUP/th_measy-a3hd-sound-settings.jpg) (http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo190/monicogalicia/PDVD/MY-HTSETUP/measy-a3hd-sound-settings.jpg)

Subtitles - walang dedicated button sa remote for subtitles. kelangan mo pindutin yung OSD sa remote, then may lalabas na menu sa taas ng screen.

(http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo190/monicogalicia/PDVD/MY-HTSETUP/th_measy-a3hd-osd-subtitle.jpg) (http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo190/monicogalicia/PDVD/MY-HTSETUP/measy-a3hd-osd-subtitle.jpg)

yan lang naman napansin ko, pero sulit na siya sa presyo for a Full HD media player, lalo na extra player lang naman siya sa sala ;D

I'm in the process of installing this in my SUV. I was able to find a 5V 2A cigarette power adapter. medyo may konting static lang. Im still locating the cause of the static. Para shock proof i'm going to mount it in an old cd changer mechanism as a platform.

i had a chance to use this a week ago. my gripe is that the remote control needs to get used to. adjustment of the subtitle is available even the font size, color, and position. no problem with the audio/video output thru HDMI (My connection is HDMI from LCD to media player. audio out of LCD to amplifier). had the player at full volume so that i could just manipulate the audio at the amplifier.

this could be in my shopping list for christmas for someone special.   ;D ;D ;D

I was able to get an IR extension for the A1HD. everything's complete na for the car set-up. The static was probably caused by the proximity of the power cable with the RCAs. The PQ is ok when viewed using a 7" lcd as along as it has a high resolution. its a cheaper alternative than buying a 2 DIN system which costs 20-40k depends on the brand.

got an a3hd from annot maybe a month ago.

no complaints for playing HD files at it plays smoothly.

only qualms are:
1.infrared of the device sometimes does not respond to the remote. medyo mahina pickup niya, you need to come closer. di rin siya kasama sa Logitech Device List so need mo to program the buttons individually (medyo hassle at matagal pero 1 time lang naman)
2. i dont have a internal hard drive, sometimes i accidentally press the Hard drive menu. maghahang yung unit. you need to reboot.
3. you dont know if the device is in standby or turned on since both will indicate the blue LED lit up.
4. no chapter selection
5. when you forward too much, sound disappear (as indicated by a fellow forummer)

other than that, it plays flawlessly and optical output is good. and for 2.5k, its worth it IMO if you are not that picky.

Both had NO wifi.

A1HD - only support external HDD, Has RCA input and button on TOP.

A3HD - Support 2.5" internal and 2." or 3.5" external HDD. U need to buy AV cable for it to support RCA. It had NO button on the unit. Can control only thru Remote.

no, not the IR extension,  how do you manage to power the A1HD in a car. do you have an inverter or do you have a power adaptor to connect it to the 12V DC plug of your cars?

Para sa mga bumili ng A3HD any other feedback. Problems that you encountered after a year of using the unit? My WDTV 1st Gen is dying and I want to replace it. Ayaw ko naman yung mga sobrang expensive na NMT since ang goal ko lang naman is to play my DLs. I think the price point for the purpose of this unit is exactly what I am looking for. Just want to get some review/feedback before getting one.

Just got a unit of A3HD last week, experienced problems where it turns off / reboots itself. I had it replaced, but still got the same problem. I think it was the power outlet connection not really fitting properly into the backside of the unit. So I just returned it and got something else instead. Did anyone experience this too? What did you do to remedy that? Good thing I had it replaced before the 7 days.

I gave away last Christmas about 10 A3HD, and I never heard of any complaints so I am sure if those are the same original power adaptors that come with the unit, it will work fine.

Since you changed it with something else, no harm done :)

Ive got a question though..
Im planning to buy 1 for my parents. Problem is they are using a very old TV. A 32' Samsung Series3  LCD TV. Would 1080 videos play on their TV when using this gadget via hard disk? How about via USB?

Also is this unit for SATA only?

Yes

Works through USB. I don't think you can connect SATA for this particular model.

A1 and A3 have the same chipset n firmware. So depend if you like the one that support internal 2.5" sata HDD (A3HD) or not. Check specs: www.measy.com.cn

Sorry both model don't let you create a playlist. but it continuously play all your movie in loop when in folder.

sorry it doesn't work. either HDMI only or RCA only. You can use HDMI to TV while optical to your HTIB.

mas ok a1hd kasi may external controls sa unit mismo, yung a3 wala. also very capable sya as car media player. kailangan mo lang remote extender cable

With regards sa mga movie kaya play. Both Kai and A1HD same lang. A1HD mas maliit size maybe. Well, Measy E8HDL ang halos katungbas ng Kai h1055. But Measy E8HDL mas bago chipset Realtek 1185 na.

Hi Sir Garfield03,

Just had my A1HD setup yesterday and what I noticed was, the unit (the player itself) along with the external 500 Seagate drive turns off everytime I try to play an MKV movie with file sizes ranging from 1.5 GB to 10.55 GB, and the unit will not turn on not until I unplug and replug the power supply for the A1HD unit. Is there a maximum MKV file size that this unit can only play or process???

What I am thinking here is that it can only play HD movies ing MKV formats with less 1 GB of file size. Please, if you have any inputs on this, I will greatly appreciate it.

This unit is fresh, out from the box.

Hoping to hear from you soon.

You can also try out this scenario on your A1HD units for all of the current users and let me know if you have the same issue, or it is only isolated to my unit.

Thanks,

"turns off everytime I try to play an MKV movie with file sizes ranging from 1.5 GB to 10.55 GB" - This should not be the case. It should play all file sizes.

Where did you buy the unit? from whom? Pa palit mo.

Sir Gary,,, I think this unit was bought by my sister from an online store but not sure what the online store was... it was purchased about a year ago.... I'm doubting that it is still covered with the warranty since now lang namin talaga una ginamit after the unit was given to us as a gift.

Sir just want to confirm. I bought one but I can't make it work with my 500gb external drive. It detects the drive but it doesn't see the movie files in it. Its in the specs naman it works up to 2TB na external drive ( both FAT32 and NTFS ). May mga tweaks ba ito sir? or wala na bang inu-update na firmware to ?
My objective is to use this player from an external drive in feed to AVR to get 5.1 audio (DD and DTS).

Yup the drive works well with PC and other android boxes. I tested it with an 8Gb thumb drive and it can see the files and folders inside. However, when I tried to play one movie (in mkv) it plays only the sound but no video would come out. just black screen.  I was thinking if meron pa controls na sa remote lang ma-access. Di ko pa kasi nagagamit remote neto, wala pang battery.

I am thinking now, baka eto ay fake or ibang item talaga to.

eto nalang sir MXQ pro 10.10 sale sa shopee. 549php lang.

I do have the MXQ Pro ( 1Gb ram version ) and the MX10 Pro ( the 4Gb ram version ). The latter plays any video well and mabilis na. Plays Netflix and Prime Video very well. Its an improvement fro the MXQ Pro (1Gb ram). The only problem I found with it is can't pass a DD or DTS Audio from a Movie to my receiver. Tried Kodi and VLC but still output nya ay 2.0 PCM pa rin. The MXQ Pro (1Gb ram) plays and outputs DD or DTS Audio well. Mejo sluggish lang talaga sa ibang apps.
Etong dilemma nato leads me to try this old and simple media player which I think could play it well from local drives, but it failed.

MX10pro and Mxq10 can pass thru DTS and DD audio, you have to configure it via the sound settings to coaxial only and pass thru raw audio. On Kodi, you'll have to configure the audio to RAW on coaxial, not both, and viola DTS and DD. Now to test, for me the best Android video player is the MX player, watch the movie file there, if there's no audio make sure your setting is HW not SW.Enjoy

Sir Alfie,  Thanks thats a good news. So I need to use the coaxial for the audio ? It doesn't work with the HDMI? I'll try it sir mamaya.  Yup I have tried also the MX Player. I hope this will work. If this will work, this will make MXQ10 or MX10 be a good Android box at a very reasonable price.

Regarding your Measy, if your HDD is a 2.5 HDD, chances are it won't be recognized by the Measy or other older models HDD Media Players, you can try a dual usb connector that has a connector for power. Older models were designed only for flash drives and 3.5 HDD that has to be powered. Now if you're using the newer 3.0 2.5 HDD then out of luck, that has not been configure to the older linux based players.
The Measy is one of the more reliable players, it plays almost all file until the arrival of the HEVC, which can only detect audio but not the video.

Hi Sir Alfie,

I think this explains it all.
1.   My HDD enclosure pala is 3.0 to SATA HDD Hard Drive Enclosure. Binili ko lang sa Lazada. Kaya cguro hindi mabasa mga files sa loob. I have tried replacing its cable with the 2 USB at one end para pwede mag-add ng supply, but it didn't work also.
2.  As mentioned above, I have tried saving one movie in Flash Drive. It was read but walang video na lumalabas. The movie was H.265 or HEVC.

Thanks Sir Alfie, you've cleared it all. Check uli mamaya if I can make it work. I agree, ang ganda kasi ng review Measy A1HD dito at kahit sa ibang sites or youtube. Di ko lang makuha bakit di gumagana tong sa akin. Yun pala mali lahat.

Thanks Again. I'll update once tested.

If you really want to view your downloaded HEVC file, despair not, just CONVERT it. I use Handbrake, it has a portable version, hence you need not install it into your system (although you might want the exe. version) Point is install it if you have a good processor (i5 or higher and about 2.8 to 3.0GHz) and lots of RAM 16gig preferably or higher, it'll take less than 10 or 8 mins. to convert a 1.5Gb file to either MKV(preference) or MP4, including subtitles. Now if your PC is still a C2D 3.0GHz, even with 8Gb RAM it'll take an hour or so, and of course you can still get the newer 5G Mxq10 that has 2gig RAM and 16Gig storage, I think it'll play your HEVC smoothly, lastly, you still have your octacore android phones especially if your processor is a Qualcomm, even a helio MTK will play it smoothly, me my preference player is still the MXPlayer, although VLC and Kmplayer are also reliable players. I've read somewhere that you can utilize a microusb to HDMI connector (use to see this at CDR-king, but I have not tried it) and you can watch your HEVC smoothly in your big screen 55"/60" HDTV. Enjoy.

Tested my MX10 outputs DTS and DD properly using its default media player and thru SPDIF. But using the MX Player and VLC still can’t. Maybe still needs some tinkering pa. Ive tested it with other demo clips and watch whole movie and it works fine.
