Any feedback on this 43" 3D HDTV?
This is also available at SnS for 40k with 2 3D Glasses

To whoever owns one now or is about to check the TV, look at the HDMI port at the back. The acronym ARC would be clearly marked on the HDMI port that is compliant to it - usually isang HDMI port lang out of many HDMI ports available - and it's usually HDMI1 or 2. You dont need HDMI 1.4 for ARC to work. And yeah, ARC is pretty cool for regular TV and cable watching.

just got this at SNS last thursday for 30K.. yes 30K lang.. probably the cheapest 3d tv now.. ;D
just 1 problem though parang bitin yung 43 inches i suggest you to ditch the 3D and get the 51D450 hehe.. that is if you're willing to spend 8K more for the additional 8 inches and if you might have a little bit more money try to get the 51D550 (yes skip the 51D490) because it's just around 56K and it's a full HD set.. compared to the 50K 51D90 for 720p only.. ;D

chief, upgraded from a 32 incher for which i bought for 30k also in 2009.. i guess inflation does not affect technology.. hehehe.. :D
Looks 9/10:
LED like thin bezel, touch of red (thin strip of red on the bottom bezel), transparent glass yung stand nya unlike sa d450 all black, touch sensitive buttons on the lower right portion of the bezel, the remote is sleek and has a good feel to it.
Picture 8/10:
it's only a 720p set, i noticed some grainy picture when i watch it at 1 feet but of course that's not my viewing distance talaga.. :D they say you can tweak the picture settings but haven't tried it though since i'm still in the break-in period pa.. i can say this is a decent set when it comes to pq just don't compare it to the panny x30.. hehehe ;D
Features 10/10:
the usb port plays everything nga talaga it's like having nmt but don't expect too much from it like bd isos.. it can decode dts din unlike it's competitors.. the user interface is also great, it has something like an e-manual to help you navigate..
Inputs and outputs 9/10:
3 hdmi ports, 1 spdif (optical out), 1 audio out (3.5mm), analog and composite ins.
Overall 9/10:
For the price, you get 3D (w/ 2 glasses and 4 bds), good pq, a lot of inputs and killer looks..

Is 720p that much of a downer when compared to Full HD? Kasi most 42"I demo'ed at close distance, kita ang mga grid between pixels (especially kung white ang picture).
arudorin, does SNS includes the usual Samsung options (like the 3D Bluray player for 10k)?
I wanted Full HD but at double the price, parang hindi worth it...

Good pm. Got this unit last sat at SNS for the same price w/ 2 3D glasses inside the box and freebies of another 2 3D glasses and a bluray player w/ 6 mons. bluray pass. As confirmed awhile ago w/ sir VIC.
This is absolutely value for money. The only word my family reacts to this TV is WOW!. Thanks to sir VIC and to his very accommodating staff. Keep up the good work!

51 inches D490 as far as I know was already discontinued sa SNS. They only have 43D490 and 51D550 (full HD 3D plasma). But please check with Sir Vic to confirm. :)

gumagana subtitle sa 43d450 ko. just make sure that the movie file and the srt file have the same file names and they are inside the same folder.

Gurus, what's the best setting for this TV? wynzam is right medyo madilim nga. Naka Digibox ako kagabi using RCA at pinanonood ko yung UFC at medyo madilim then binalik ko sa analog cable at medyo lumiwanag kaya lang medyo noisy (meron pa saming Analog na Skycable). sana may mag share ng best setting para dina gumastos sa pagcalibrate sa SNS. Thanks.

boyka69: unfortunately no 3D glasses are included in the box so it will be via redemption together w/ the bluray player and it will take around 3 weeks to be redeemed at SNS (SNS is the one who applied for the redemption). I heard that in some stores the 3D glasses are already inside the box.

@boyka69: yup nung nov21 na confirm ko via phone kay sir vic na free 4 3d glasses then tex nya ulit sakin last nov25 na nagkamli sya so 2 free 3D glasses then add 4k to get another 2 3d glasses na lang... re. sa stocks, kanina tumawag ako sa SNS, ganon pa rin yung mga dumating sa kanilang units wala pa ring 3D glasses sa box.

I was planning to get this unit from sns as I got an LCD from them 3 years ago. But I had to stop by sta lucia mall to buy something. In the process of doing so, I stopped by western (no sales person tried to assist me maybe becoz I had a hole in my shirt hehe). I then went to abenson and the sales guy asked me what i needed, I asked for the price of the 43d490 and he said 31.5k. I asked him to lower it and he said it was not possible. I walked out and 3 steps out the door the sales guy comes calling at me. Next thing I know I was a few thousands poorer but with a big smile on my face. ;D

I was actually asking for 29k but I had a feeling i was pushing my luck too far, so when he came after me and said he would give it to me for 30k. I grabbed it.

pasali po, i got mine last nov. 25 with 3d glass included at robinsons dasma cavite price at 34k, i registered the unit at their website, samsung phils reply the free 3d bluray player will be deliver within 10 working days bale sa bahay na raw idi deliver. Super happy ang daughter ko dahil sa 3d features nya.
na try ko manood sa dvd player at set ko sa tv yon 3d features, ganda ng effect using the 3d glass

@wynzam: dinako nag register sabi kasi ni sir vic sila na nagregister sakin pero try ko na rin mamaya di ko lang kasi dala OR ko. Try ko rin tumawag sa samsung baka starter kit ang mabigay nila katulad ng sa 51D550. hehehe!!! As per SNS mauuna dumating yung 2 3D glasses then to follow yung bluray.

sabi ni sir vic ang free lang daw talaga ay 2 pcs.3D glasses at bluray player via redemption...just got my unit 2 days ago and wala talagang 3D glasses sa loob ng box,but may nakausap nga ako sa store ng sns sa ibang store daw kasama na sa loob ng box,mukhang lahat yata ng naideliver sa sns walang kasama sa loob ng box :(
happy naman ako sa unit hindi ko pa lang ma enjoy yung 3D kase nga wala pang glasses sana hindi naman abutin ng 3 weeks bago makuha yung glasses and bluray player...Highly recommended seller talaga ang SnS,very accomodating si sir vic,prompt magreply sa mga text ko sa kanya abt d unit. :)

@usbslave, na try mo na bang panooran ng local channel yung unit mo?actually tinanong ko na rin kay sir vic...im just worried abt burn in...like kung manonood sa channel 7 yung GMA logo all through out ng palabas nandoon siya,natatakot akong itry kase baka hindi na mawala yung logo ng GMA..sabi naman ni sir vic hindi naman daw pero gusto ko munang makasigurado.

@ruthesianarnia: yes, may function naman sya na screen burn protection (see E Manual) then make i a habit na lang na ilipat mo yung channel every 20mins or during commercial.

I bought the unit since Nov19 but until today di pa dumarating, ang malungkot wala pang 3d glass sa box kaya pati 3d glass hinihintay pa din dumating. Ang mas malungkot di sila sabay darating. Sabi ko nga kay Sir Vic baka malungkot pasko namin kasi di kami makakanood ng 3D movies. hehehe!!!

nabili po namin yung Samsung PS43D490 3D Plasma TV namin mga end of October sa SM, ngayon me line sya sa left side, pano po ba dapat gawin para sa warranty repair/replacement?
Sa ngayon pupunta si Misis sa SM kakausapin yun binilhan namin dala nya yung resibo, home service po ito di ba?
natest na po namin sya using different sources, Cignal, Videoke nandun sya talaga e.
pano kung mismong panel na pala sya? Papalitan po ba ito ng bagong unit? o repair lang?

dont waste your time going to SM. call samsung direct and have a tech dispatch to your house. yan din sasabihin sa inyo ng SM.

Part ng reason bat Samsung ang binili ko, because maganda raw ang warranty service, but i never thought it was so soon, just barely two months pa lang itong unit namin.
hay sana nga ayus sila talaga sa warranty. malalaman natin kung maayos ba talaga sila sa warranty

kung ako yan,ill have the tech sent out to assess it. tapos pag na-assess na niya yan,i-file na nya sa office nila yan for recommendation/next step. i will firmly request na palitan ng bago instead na repair.

@eugenrs: insist for a replacement through Samsung directly, don't expect SM will replace it. So for your next purchase make sure sa SNS ka na kumuha. Kapag ganyan kasing case na very obvious ang problem, palit kaagad yan kay Sir Vic or pwede mo pang i upgrade kung dismayado ka talaga sa unit mo.

Nabigyan na si Misis ng service ticket number, and yes we will insist on a new replacement.
Actually nagpunta kami sa Sns, kaso and sabi sa amin that time walang stocks, e paalis na rin ako in a couple of days kaya napilitan na kami kumuha sa SM.
I inspected the unit naman wala naman syang sira end of october sya nabili at nitong nakaraang araw lang lumabas iyong lines.
i really like this model, yun nga lang natapat lang talaga siguro sa akin ito.
, ngayon malalaman ko kung anong warranty service meron ang Samsung.

i just got mine yesterday... im from cebu and i got it for 35k w/ free bluray player and 2 3d glasses! sweet!
BTW, dont ever forget to do a "break-in" of ur new plasma tv to avoid/lessen the burn-in/image retention issues... this is VERY IMPORTANT!!! the 1st 100-200 hours of ur new plasma tv is the most crucial...
and as what the samsung manual says, burn-in is NOT covered by the warranty...
once again, its still a plasma... we need to accept that fact so better be safe than sorry...

LA40D550. replacement sa dalawang UA40D5000 na nauna.parehong may backlight bleeding.first one pinalitan ng bago,same pa din yung pinalit which got refunded.ngayon naman ito. last na ito.im going for a different brand pag di tumagal ito after ayusin. im done with samsung products.

I just bought the 51in model last monday with 4 3d glasses free..so far am really enjoying it..pero here's a question do we really need to break in our plasmas? Marami rin kasi nagsasabi dun sa AVS forums na no need na meron rin naman sabi need pa rin..and by the way aside from the color slides can i use the burn in protection for breaking in rin? Thanks!

for me no need na. pero for that peace of mind, just keep the brightness and contrast levels to 50, cell light to 8 for at least 100 hours. avoid static images and black bars. pwede na din siguro yang pang break in. sayang kasi kuryente sa breakin slides hehe.

Bought mine sa Western sa Sta Lucia Mall kanina. After weeks of waiting and searching (ubos na kahit saan. Even sa SNS na tagal ko hinintay hehe coz 30k ang cash price.) Anyway, mukang para sa akin talaga ito kanina...got it for 28,800k. Free 2 3d glasses and bluray na bd5100. However, talagang mga 1st wk ng January pa makukuha. Dun na rin sa Western.
Fyi, sana pasok pa rin sa blupass promo ng samsung ito. The salesman assured me naman na that's the case coz i bought it before dec31. :-) sana.
By the way, PQ and 3D mode exceeded my expectations :-) hindi halata mashado ang 720p lang coz 43" naman sha eh. Ok rin bluray movies thru PS3. :-)

sa tingin ko wala sa samsung ang problem nasa dealer kc nung tumawag ako for follow up ng free bluray player ko accommodating sila binigay ang no. ng courier at ang contact person...kinabukasan delivered na sa amin...all in all i've got 2units of 3d glasses (inside the box) + 2 units of 3d glasses again and a bluray player...good thing na nagbago isip namin kung saan kami bibili kungdi up to now baka wala pa kaming 3d glass and bluray player....happy new year to all!!!

What's the difference between the 43D450 at 43D451, also with 43D490 at 43D491? the 51's were only available at SM appliance.. while the 50's are available at Abenson, Automatic Centre at Ansons, may pagkakaiba ba sa features? or it's only a variant.. kanina ko lang nalaman na may certain 51 models... sabi sa akin ng bawat sales rep eh exclusive lang ang ang bawat isa sa kanila...

One thing i missed from my old LED 32D4003 na wala sa plasma ay yung melody sound during ON/OFF, or meron din yung plasma hindi ko lang alam paano enable.. sino nga pala nakakaalam kung paano malalaman yung number of hours na nagagamit kung meron man itong series na ito... thanks in advance..

bro, kanina I also experienced the vertical line on this model :( nakaka inis eh mismong nasa center pa >:( ilang days/weeks bago nila napalitan? may option ba silang binigay to replace the unit or refund na lang? parang gusto ko na lang i-refund eh, nakaka dismaya kasi ika-2nd month pa lang nito sa akin.problema lang pag refund baka ipasoli din yung blu-ray player hehe.. parang natakot kasi ako, what if wala na warranty tapos lumabas ulit ang problem na ganito? pag napalitan ba ang tv eh babaguhin ba ang start ng warranty period o same pa din kung kelan mo binili yung tv?

do the math on how long it took.quite fast if you ask me ;) if you ask me, try getting the replacement muna as refunds take longer. itawag mo na din and have a tech dispatched kasi kailangan yun. unang step yun e. pag nakita na ng tech at mabigyan ka ng job order,you can demand whichever option you choose. good luck at magdagdag ng tyaga sa pag follow up. :P

ganda nitong tv na ito, after 150+ hrs of break-in mas lumiwanag na ang display at mas nabuhay pa ang mga kulay. tried some calibrated settings, ang ganda! coming from a 1080p ledtv, no regrets, cinematic colors and feel, at syempre even blacks at all angles, sarap manood ng movies ;D
wish ko lang hindi ko maencounter yung mga problems na namention dito, but i think maaayos naman yung mga nagkaproblema dahil factory defect ang vertical line and meron namang 2yrs warranty ang unit na ito.
btw, PQ really is superb with this set. someone posted he could see grainy pic from 1ft, but that was before/ during his break-in. pareho kami nung pakiramdam. out-of-the-box hindi ko nagustuhan pic nya but after considerable break-in unti-unting gumanda ang PQ, and after calibration, all i can say is WOW ;D

I already reported it to samsung yesterday, sa monday pa makakapunta ang tech to check the unit.but I will demand a replacement na kaagad instead of repair. kung matatagalan ang refund, I'll settle for replace na lang talaga. pwede kaya replace ng 51", dagdag na lang ako haha..
almost 2 weeks din pala bago napalitan kay eugenrs, medyo matagal din.they will pull-out the unit ba while waiting for a replacement? hassle yun pag ganun, wala ba service unit na ipapahiram kahit yung 51" hehehe..

It took 10 days from the day it was reported to Samsung till a replacement got delivered.
They only pulled out the unit when they delivered the replacement.
Iba and nagdedeliver at nag iinstall, installer came a few hours after the delivery.
Samsung also gave us hdmi cables (free) , i think i had two HDMI cables changed,
1 for the dvd home theather and 1 for my Cignal Sattelite TV , they gave my wife the old hdmi cables.
Insist on replacement first, from what i've read, mas matagal ang refund

I was able to talk to the sales person where I bought (robinsons appliance) my tv, he said once there is a recommendation to replace the unit from the samsung tech (who will check it tom), samsung will contact them to have the tv replaced since I bought the tv from them.as early as wed or thurs daw pwede ibigay sa amin yung tv. sana lang wag magtagal sa samsung.

natanong ko sa robinson's yan, sabi kung higher model eh pwede daw pero magdagdag na lang ako. pero hindi daw pwede yung downgrade, like from 43" to 32" lcd, hindi naman sila mag c-cash out kasi.

So if ever mahuhulog na upgrade to 5 series pero sana naman less lang ang dagdag kasi di mo naman kasalanan if masira within the warranty period..

Nabasa ko din sa avsforums na yung samsung nag papadala na ng fw to fix brightness pops. Pero hindi available for DL sa website sa US. Pero so far itong 1021 nawala brightness pops ng d550 ko. Mamaya manonood ako real steel para ma check na din.

hahahahaha natawa ako sa "habang buhay" which i think is true.. minsan maghapon ako tawag ng tawag puro answering machine lang, may caller ID yata yung mga phone nila na kapag alam na ikaw na naman eh di sasagutin.. tried ko ibang number gamit ko.. connect agad.. hehehehe fore more number ng redemption follow up eh try nyo yung 2147797.. hanggang ngayon yung sa akin eh sabi papadala na daw.. padadala na daw, papadala na daw, papadala na daw... isang buwan na papadala na daw..

update ko lang, wala pa daw yung report from samsung tech sa kanilang office kaya hindi pa matawagan ang robinsons to replace our unit. pina-follow up na nga mismo nung taga robinsons.
weird thing happened just this evening, tinitigan ko kung ilan na yung number of hours nung tv (yung sinabi ni 45caliber), parang na reset yung picture setting, nawala yung configure ko dati. then napansin ko eh nawala din yung vertical line sa gitna. for more than 30 mins ko na ginagamit pero nawala talaga yung line hehehe.. paano kaya yun? baka hindi na palitan ng samsung ah hehe.. pero i'll insist na palitan talaga, pano kaya kung biglang lumabas ulit, hassle kaya mag report ulit at mag hintay.

weird thing happened just this evening, tinitigan ko kung ilan na yung number of hours nung tv (yung sinabi ni 45caliber), parang na reset yung picture setting, nawala yung configure ko dati. then napansin ko eh nawala din yung vertical line sa gitna. for more than 30 mins ko na ginagamit pero nawala talaga yung line hehehe.. paano kaya yun? baka hindi na palitan ng samsung ah hehe.. pero i'll insist na palitan talaga, pano kaya kung biglang lumabas ulit, hassle kaya mag report ulit at mag hintay.

same sa LCD ko.it comes and go pero most of the time nandun yung vertical line.naisip ko nga,sana pina update ko yung firmware nung pinuntahan nung tech but he was certain that it was a hardware issue at siempre di naman ako mag settle din sa ganun lang.lumabas na e yung sira e.mahirap na at baka bumalik balik lang din. buti nakuha ko na yung replacement kanina.sana naman ok na.pagod na ako e. :P

Suggest to keep a camera nearby, set the settings camera to have a date/time stamp when getting pictures, pag litaw ng lines get a picture para in case na dumating yung technician at wala yung line e me maipapakita kayo na pasulpot sulpot lang yung problem.
Kung maari include a part ng set-up nyo (table / hometheater) para makita na sa tv nyo talaga sya lumalabas.

thanks for sharing, bro. could it be na hindi hardware ang problem? sabi kasi nung tech nung unang tingin niya eh hardware problem na daw kaya ni recommend niya kaagad for replacement. medyo bothered lang ako kasi nasabi niya na buti na lang eh 2 months pa lang at na report na, kung mga 3 months na daw eh repair lang ang gagawin at hindi replace.nagtaka ako kasi under warranty naman for 2 yrs at wala akong nabasa na ganung condition.
so far, hindi na lumabas yung vertical line. tumawag din sa akin yung robinson kahapon, wala pa daw stock. pero ipapa replace ko pa din, sayang eh.

Yung sa akin naman nag try ako first time playing movie with the USB slot, using a Kingston 8GB, with an mkv file na movie with a 7.32GB size eh pagdating sa middle part ng movie eh huminto at lumitaw sa screen "NEW DEVICE CONNECTED" di ko alam what happened kung dahil sa sobrang laki ng file na halos mapuno na yung USB.. ang ginawa ko format ko yung USB then nilagyan ko ulit ng another file with a 3.96GB na lang, also an mkv file.. pero ganun na naman after kalagitnaan ng movie humito at lumitaw ulit yung "NEW DEVICE FOUND".. by the way i am using a CD-R king USB extension cord para di na ako kalikot ng kalikot sa likod ng TV since naka wall mount ito at medyo masikip lugar.. what could the culprit? the USB storage or the extension cord.. mamaya will try to watch the same file without the extension cord and we'll see.. hindi kaya yung media player naman ng unit ko... :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

meron akong 320GB na HDD na may mahabang USB cable, pag kinakabit ko sa tv na ito eh minsan parang na d-disconnect pero yung 1TB ko eh hindi naman ganun. pinalitan ko nga ng mas maikling USB cable, so far eh ok naman.
normal na talaga sa plasma (maski nga sa LCD) na mas mainit ang panel. pero pag well ventilated ang area mo eh hindi ganun kainit. sa room namin na hindi gano maganda ventilation at pag hindi naka on ang aircon eh mas mainit ang panel compared sa sala namin na medyo maluwag at madaming windows. wag lang to a point na mapapaso ka na hehe dun may problem yun.

Bought mine sa Western sa Sta Lucia Mall kanina. After weeks of waiting and searching (ubos na kahit saan. Even sa SNS na tagal ko hinintay hehe coz 30k ang cash price.) Anyway, mukang para sa akin talaga ito kanina...got it for 28,800k. Free 2 3d glasses and bluray na bd5100. However, talagang mga 1st wk ng January pa makukuha. Dun na rin sa Western.
Fyi, sana pasok pa rin sa blupass promo ng samsung ito. The salesman assured me naman na that's the case coz i bought it before dec31. :-) sana.
By the way, PQ and 3D mode exceeded my expectations :-) hindi halata mashado ang 720p lang coz 43" naman sha eh. Ok rin bluray movies thru PS3. :-)
My free samsung bd5100 bluray player arrived via courier yesterday :-) with free blupass pa siya ( bluray rental) pero im thinking if benta ko na lang ito tutal its not a 3D bluray player and sarado pa ung box. And im using my ps3 naman as my 3d player. Hmmm. :-).

And bakit unsupported audio codec minsan ang lumalabas? maayos ba ito ng update ng firmware? ano ano po bang format ang supported ng built in media player ng samsung plasma?

most video files naman nag play naman sa akin pati nga yung .mkv na may DTS audio. pwera lang yung real media videos. nasa manual (hardcopy or e-manual) kung ano-ano ang supported files. baka latest version pa yung firmware mo, no use in upgrading it.
baka may sira na talaga yung cd-r king usb cable mo, minsan kasi pag nababaluktot mga cables eh may tendency na may maputol inside. try mo muna humiram ng ibang usb extension cable.
or try to use your BD player as your media player instead yung built-in sa tv, pansin mo mas maganda picture quality because may upscaling capability yung bd player. kaya minsan ko na lang gamitin yung built-in player, pag hindi magandang movie lang hehe.

If I'm not mistaken, you can select Audio from Tools in the remote. I was able to do this when I tested a similar unit in Abenson, though I don't remember exactly where. For the subtitle, it didn't play subtitles embedded in the mkv file, as mine had subtitles set as default but wasn't displayed. I think it will only detect a separate subtitle (i.e. srt extension) file stored in the same folder as the video, not those inside the mkv file.

most say 100hrs pede na, ginawa ko lang 200hrs sakin para mas sure ako :D after break-in pede ka na magchillax and after calibration tyak mas lalo kang mapapaWOW sa unit mo. ;D

In my case, 1st few days conscious ako sa pag break in...pero after a few days, medyo hinayaan ko na lang. Even pag ung channels my logo symbols na fixed, no burn issues naman...siguro totoo na talaga ung sinasabi na latest/ new plasmas no longer are prone to burn ins. And coz of that, no longer needs breaking in. IMO lang naman, based sa set ko. So far no issues bout video quality :-).Pero baka nakatulong rin na ang set up ko, both sa tv and bluray is for lowlight. Bedroom setup kasi.

Nagpunta kanina dito 'yong Samsung technician ng Cavite para i-wall mount ang D490 ko. Inayos ang arrangement ng channel pero tinanggal lahat ng break in settings ko. Tinanong ko kung kailangan pa ba i-break in. Sabi hindi na dahil 2011 model na naman daw. Well... enjoy ko na lang TV set ko. Watch lang ng TV series and movies with my wife and very light gaming hanggang wala pa'ng 3 months ang unit ko.
Tinanong ko rin kung bakit nagkakaroon ng vertical line... dahil daw 'yon pag nakidlatan. Inadvice niya sa 'kin to use AVR and pag gaming daw, sa 110v ko isaksak para minimal ang heat. I followed it, hope its for the best.

when we're watching cable viewing in broad daylight (standard setting) cell light=7, contrast=50, brightness=45, sharpness=55, color=50. My wife and I normally watch movies during week ends pag mejo madilim na like around 530pm onwards nag aadjust lang ako ng konti para maging intense yung pinapanood namin cell light=9, contrast=60, and the rest are the same. pero pag 3d (dynamic mode) 18 ang cell light, contrast is 90 brightness is 55 sharpness is 60 color 55. sa ganyan ko lang sya napapansin na umiinit ang screen which may result to screen burn pag napabayaan (imo).

afaik, auto-volt naman ang most lcd,led & plasma kaya no problem (dapat) kung isaksak sa 110v.
as for the settings, try niyo ibaba yung sharpness to between 10-20 lang, for me mas maganda at nababawasan ang jagged edges or yung parang pixelized.
sa color naman, nasa 27-30 lang sa akin, mas natural ang skin tones IMO lang

yung unit na may 621 hours na.. may plastic pa ba yung bezel, yung pinaka frame na itim? kapag wala na most likely displayed unit na ito.. ganun din yung dapat na unang plasma ko.. nung check ko yung display hours 897 hours na... hindi ko din kinuha.. naghintay ako ng ilang oras sa Automatic Centre for another unit and i made it sure na nasa tabi ko yung unang unit.. nag alala din ako na baka pag pinasok sa loob eh i-reset lang nila.. ayun so far nakuha ko wala pang 1hour yung panel time..

Dun sa 110/220Volt issue.. i think pareho lang ang magiging temperature ng unit regardless kung sa 110 o 220 mo ito isaksak.. iba kasi yung input sa output.. kahit bigyan mo ng 110 o 220 yung input niya, either way ang labas sa output niya is yung needed voltage ng board at panel.. kasi i think kung this is an issue eh di sana lahat ginawa ng 110V ng mga manufacturer ang mga unit nila para di mag init.. minsan akala lang natin na mas magaan ang load para sa unit kung gagawing 110V pero ang di natin alam eh 110V nga pero yung nasasayang naman na kuryente sa transformers eh minsan mas malaki pa kesa kung directly plug sa 220V.. lalo na kung ang gagamitin mong transformers eh mataas ang wattage.. just my two cents.. not sure kung tama.. tingin ko lang naman

Kung heat.. i think tama si bluesboy.. lower lang ang settings and it will do just fine.. kasi pag regular cable viewing lang ako naka movie mode lang and pansin ko di ganun kainit yung likod at panel.. pero kapag nanood ako ng HD-movies naka dynamic or standard ako pansin ko medyo mainit yung panel... as in parang may lagnat..

for me, as long as there is no problem with my tv, I don't think I need a firmware upgrade. but if they say that there's an additional features with this update, then I guess it's worth checking. usually meron naman release notes about the upgrade, try to read it then decide if you really need it.

mga pafs have you tried doing the "hack" of changing the model in the service menu pra maactivate ung cinemasmooth feature for 1080p feeds?
i tried it na actually pro i dont seem to see any difference..

Sir u need to go 2 the service menu and manually change the model no. Then after turning the tv back on, may lalabas na na cinemasmooth option sa picture options.. Try nyo to.

naka order na po ako ng 43D490 na e deliver na kagabi. question po pwd po ba ma upgrade ung software nito?
at parang pixelated (standard setting) or depende po un sa copy ng movie? or ibang player gagamitin?
please pa help naman po yung magandang settings.

Already got the bluray player,walang 3d glasses.
Asked sammy bout these,sabi nila wAla dw tlaga kasama 3d glasses
unless ng add-on ako. Labo naman ng promo..

Pero sabagay, the 43e490 should be an improvement over the d490, but i'm not too sure.

it doesnt come with one talaga. the bluray player that you got free is not a 3D bluray player.

i saw the specs of 43e490 and seems nakuha nya yung features ng 43d490 at new model pa with all share functions.. heheh sana same performance sila ng previous kasi maganda naman reviews ng 43d490 heheh..

nung binili ko yung unit ko eh kasama na sa box yung pair of 3D glasses. then, by redemption yung BD player. yun ang promo nila late last year. although, yung mga first batch talaga nila eh walang pa 3D glasses sa box, then to be delivered yung 3D glasses w/ BD player. parang ganito yata yung sa SNS before, CMIIW.

HD files eh hindi pixelated. dapat mga 720p or 1080p files

I bought this TV over Toshiba PB 20 as I compare them side by side. Tried playing HD movies and played PS3 GOW3 and its WOW for me after upgrading from LG32PC&*^ (forgot the model :p). So far, SATISFIED :)
