Have you heard about PayPlus+ (http://www.payplus.com.ph/)[/u] from Yehey.com? You'll need an ATM though from a member bank.

Am rather familiar with PayPlus. But my understanding is that PayPlus is only available through the merchants that sign up with Yehey. (mostly local merchants) More often than not, I would like to purchase from foreign merchants (Amazon, etc.).
Thanks for the info though, j. am scanning through the payplus site as we speak.

Several months back I came across a site that accept money transfer payments like Western Union. You send by email the confirmation number so that the seller can pick up the payment on their own WU outlet. I jest felt very uncomfortable with this arrangement since the site was not really that big as in amazon hence its more like risking your payment.

you can try western union or a money transfer when buying in ebay

have u tried it already..?

I've also been using a Visa Electron debit card to pay for purchases online (eg. amazon.com, amazon.ca, towerrecords.com, etc).
See this page:
http://www.unionbankph.com/content.asp?paramID=AMBLAFZZZZ (http://www.unionbankph.com/content.asp?paramID=AMBLAFZZZZ)
You have to open a savings account and deposit money to use the card (since all purchases are automatically debited from your account) but at least they have pretty good conversion rates and the account has no minimum or maintaining balance.
The bad news is that there's now a P350 annual fee (used to be for free).

THX1138, you mean to say that this Electron debit card by Visa will be accepted by those online stores that will not accept non-US issued credit cards? Or am I dreaming too much?
-
I think amazon accepts checks and money order as form of payment, process ngalang nila order mo once na received nila yung check mo.
Crutchfield.com also accepts money order...

I checked with the bank. Apparently, it does not work with most sites that require US-issued cards (e.g. Paypal) since these sites require the bank to have an address verification service and only US/Canada banks. have this. However, i know some sites can reconsider if you send them a nice email.

guys, how is the process of money order? can some1 please explain this and if it's safe?
what r d pros n cons?
thanks!

I've been buying from Amazon for quite sometime. I don't have a Credit Card (ayoko mag kautang), I always use a Debit Card - it's like an ATM Card that you can use to buy things with online and off line.
Visit www.unionbankph.com (under EON or VISA ELECTRON)

The last post in this thread was in 2004 pa but it's a common concern for online buyers. I know of a service that allows you to make PayPal payments on your online purchases. I'm actually an affiliate here, it's PinoyMoneyTalk's PayPal Service. October 2005 pa ito nagsimula at marami na ring na-fulfill na transactions.
Fee: 2% of the amount (minimum fee of $2) per transaction.
Payment is through a deposit to a UnionBank account. If you have a UnionBank Cyber Eon account, you can even make an instant payment online.
Initial requirement is to register for an account at the PinoyMoneyTalk forum here (http://www.pinoymoneytalk.com/forum/index.php?action=register). Once you have a PMT username, you can fill up the transaction request form here (http://www.pinoymoneytalk.com/pmt-paypal-service/referred-by-nailbiter/). This link to the form is my affiliate page. Eventually, the admin plans to offer discounts to clients who use affiliate pages to avail of the service. So I suggest you bookmark the link, lalo na kung madalas gagamitin. ;)
More info here (http://www.pinoymoneytalk.com/pmt-paypal-service/01/).
