I came across a Coby 55" LED. The price is very tempting. They are giving it for only php48,000.
Warranty: 1 year parts / lifetime service
Is Coby a reliable brand? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

for that price u can get a 51-51incher plasma of more popular brands. you also be assured for good reliable service from them.

Where'd you see this 55" Coby? I'm more interested because not only is it native 1080p and 55", but it also has 120 Hz "MotionFlow".

Thanks for the referral!
43K cash for a 55 incher?! :o Now I'm really interested. Now I just have to decide if I should go for a 100" 720p LED projector setup or this. The TV will look better of course... but 100" is 100".
-
Precisely the reason why i cant seen to pull the trigger on a 55 incher...my gut tells me that prices of large TVs will go down pa talaga. Ok lang matalo pero buying at 100k tapos after 2 yrs 50k nalang. Ouchhh!
-
Well its a coby. As they say , you get what you pay for.
-
Thanks GioSpike for the post!
I was almost "sales talked" by that guy at Sta Lucia.

Kahit lukewarm yung review, this seems tempting given that it has 120hz motion flow.

I posted the images above in another forum and one of my trusted friend in the site commented after many members posted their interest with the tv and he said that while Coby is a somewhat trusted brand in the US, in the Philippines, his friend, who sells electronics including TVs, said that "sumasakit daw ang ulo nito sa soli ng mga customers na Coby gadgets including TV and portable DVD players."
Guess nila is yung mga Coby na minamarket sa Pinas ay hindi dumaan o hindi pumasa sa US product standards, unlike yung available sa US na medyo strict ang dinaanan bago makarating sa merkado.
No agenda here, just sharing his insight.
He might be wrong.

I was at Electronics Boutique Park Square 1 yesterday. I can confirm that the TV indeed has 120 Hz MotionFlow. However, I checked the menu and it seems like one will not be able to turn the feature off, which may be a caveat for some people. Good news is, it's gigantic! The 40" TVs next to it look tiny in comparison. Shame about the blacks though, they're not as good as they could've been -- then again, I'm already used to a plasma display and the content they were playing back at the store isn't of good quality either. Too much macroblocking and noise.

yes 120hz nga. Unfortunately, you can't adjust RGB from the menu.
