The Oscar-winning romance comes home.
by RL Shaffer JUNE 14, 2012
101 years ago today (May 31), the RMS Titanic was launched into the Belfast Lough. Little did anyone know that less than a year later the dazzling ship would sink, tragically ending the lives of over 1500 crew and guests. To mark the anniversary of the Titanic's initial launch, Paramount Home Media Distribution and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment have announced that they will bring James Cameron's Titanic to Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download September 10, 2012.
There will a four-disc Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray combo pack (suggested retail $54.99, pre-order on Amazon for $29.99), a four-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack (suggested retail $44.99, pre-order is $22.99), and a two-disc DVD set (suggested retail $29.99, pre-order is $14.96). Great reviews:
... This is a pure Blu-ray transfer, the very definition of an exemplary presentation. Fans will be simply astonished with Paramount's efforts on this classic film.
... With breathtaking video, totally immersive sound, and enough supplements to fill a day or two, Titanic shoots towards the top of the heap of 2012 Blu-ray releases, and it also stands proudly, even from the bottom of the ocean, as one of the format's top overall releases yet. Titanic earns my highest recommendation.

... This Blu-ray edition arrives with a spectacular, reference-quality high-def transfer and an interesting audio presentation that expands with the narrative.

Available now locally. The regular versions. Php 1800 for Bluray 2D. Php 2000 for Bluray 3D+2D.
Even if you don't have 3D gears, I think the 3D+2D version is the better buy. 200 is a small difference for future proofing your Bluray.
