To burn the subs in, each video frame will be re-encoded.
Imagine 24 frames per second, that's 172,800 frames per 2 hour movie to be re-encoded by your PC.
Convert to MPEG 2, pag MPEG 2 na, hardsub mo, then convert back to mkv. O0

All you can do is use a video converter for the subtitle to on.
Try one of the top ten video converter below link. Alam ko meron sa setting yan naka on ung subtitle but i don't know if ieencode ng video converter ung video.

to save you tons of your time and for better enjoyment and satisfaction, get an NMT, cheaper than HTPC. This will be a huge upgrade from your tv player experience.
Puwede kahit yung tig 2k lang.

Pag + mo kasi baka di mag tagal ang speaker mo. Para mas safe halimbawa nag calibrate ka using YPAO and lumabas sa calibration -6 sa fronts try mo lang gawin na -4 and sa center naman naka 0 lang. Mahirap kasi iadjust mo ng basta basta yung decibel baka masira ang speaker mo.
-
