Title: Argyle's Haven (Ongoing Construction - Need suggestions from the guru's!)
Post by: Argyle_06 on Dec 04, 2013 at 09:48 AM
Hello PDVD! I've been lurking here for about 3 years now. lol
Sobrang inspired ako sa mga home theaters dito and was working hard to hopefully have one too.
And finally, matutupad na ang pangarap ko.  ^-^

Currently, nagpapa-construct ako ng new house for my future family :D

Now, I need your help mga master on how I can make it better. Specially when it comes to room treatment, sound proofing/acoustic, equipments, etc. (Alternative, cheap way sana?  ;D)

Length  - 4m
Width   - 3.5m

Here are the latest pic nung magiging home theater ko: - December 4, 2013

(http://i1144.photobucket.com/albums/o498/Jolecur/WP_20131201_16_57_59_Pro.jpg)

(http://i1144.photobucket.com/albums/o498/Jolecur/WP_20131201_16_57_31_Pro.jpg)

Perspective na ginawa ko:

(http://i1144.photobucket.com/albums/o498/Jolecur/53c73eb4-3685-4bf4-9297-a86d154868c9.jpg)

Current equipments ko:
1. 51" Samsung Plasma TV (Planning to just put this on the living room or master bedroom)
2. PS3 (Will give this to my brother)
3. Xtreamer Pro

Planning to buy:
* Acer H6510BD Projetor
* Onkyo HTIB 7.1 - HTS6200
* PS4
* 120" Elite Screen

Need suggestions:
1. How can I achieve sound proofing and acoustic sa room? Do we have alternatives or cheap way to do this? I learned na yung egg tray eh di pala good for sound proofing.

2. Carpet flooring na wall to wall.

Or masyado na syang malaki? Mga 3.5 meters ang viewing distance.

Thanks mga master!  ^-^

Welcome to the HT Gallery sir... :)

One suggestion sir about your choice of sound system.
If you could do away with the HTiB, please do so, hehehe...
Most of the members here that started with HTiB ended up selling their set and replaced it with separate A/V receiver and their preferred brand of speakers ;)

Thanks mga master! :D

Di ko pa alam mag kano lahat mauubos talaga to complete the whole house. hehehe.

Kaya HTIB muna sana ako, then later on na ako mag-upgrade. Haha.

Magkano ba dapat ang budget for a good speaker set-up sa HT ko? And may ma-rerecommend ba kayu na set-up?

TIA! :D

Welcome to the gallery sir!  Try mo muna sir going for 2 or 3 channel route depending on the budget then later na yung surrounds.  In that way lessen po ang upgraditis!

if tight budget but want high end gears, i recommend speakers for home theater Anthony Audio Speakers..
there's a lot of new model he have now,at affordable price but can compete or better than most expensive speakers in the world...   ;)

nice!

Live within your budget at wag pilitin pag hindi kaya.

Egg tray? Wall to wall carpet?

Need suggestions:
2. Carpet flooring na wall to wall.

About the room wala bang chance maging rectangle?

pag may batang maliit... :) :) :)

I mentioned wall carpet kasi meron dito buong wall binalutan din ng carpet. Also put in mind na sound absorber ang carpet, pag sobra baka wala ka na maramdaman sa speakers mo. Yung sinasabi kong HT wala pa isang taon may amoy na at mahirap nga linisin. Sayang naloko ng gumawa.

Egg tray?

delikado ito sa anay, nangyari ito sa kasama namin sa home recording studio nya, binahayan yung likod ng eggtray after two weeks pa lang na naiinstall.

ang egg tray yata ay tipong pang "those were the days" na lang. 6-digit budget for room and gears tapos ET lang ang gagamitin? parang may mali yata...

I recommend going this route. I also started with a 2 channel setup, then slowly built my 5.1 system.

Thank you everyone sa mga input! :D

*Flooring
So di pala advisable mag carpet tiles (mahirap ang maintenance, fire hazard, sound absorber)? Ano ba magandang flooring? Mag ordinary tiles na lang ako? Any recommendation sa magandang flooring?

*Egg tray
Hehe. Di naman po ako mag-eegg tray. Marami nagsasabi at mga nakikita ko before pero recently I learned na it is not really effective for acoustic and sound proofing. I was asking baka may iba pa kayong mairerecommend na alternative for making the room treatment (sound) better.
Ok na ba upholstered foam? As far as I know mahal kasi ang acoustic foam.

Pero definitely mag-uupgrade ako in the future. Wala pa rin ako masyado alam pag dating sa audio set-up. I'll start reading and learning the stuff as I continue to improve my home theater. BUT, if malaki ang matirang budget after I complete the whole house, I'll definitely look into getting a full blown audio set-up with dedicated receiver, speakers, subs, etc. Mukang ok yung ni-recommend na a-audio. We'll see how it goes in the coming days :D

Wala na sir. Yan na talaga yung dimension ng room. Mag-susuffer yung ibang section ng house if ever ibahin pa yung sukat.

I agree with ka Noli, ang pag laid out ng HB dapat meron direction sinusunod na parang interlocking at yung joints meet in the middle of the bottom & top blocks. If you don't have architect or designer at least you have a rough plan to guide you and your contractor/worker.

Sa acoustic treatment, you can add them after you completed the finishing. You don't have to completely damped the whole room, you need have some reflective surfaces to keep the room alive. Marami online guide in acoustic treatment for reference.

Dapat e consider mo rin ang air conditioning system kun saan ang location at kailangan separate ang circuit nito from your AV system.

Sa acoustic treatment, you can add them after you completed the finishing.

Then, integrate the room treatment sa finishing.

I was initially looking at Acer h6510BD but mukang mas pasok sa budget to at sakto lang sa akin since di naman kalakihan yung room.

TIA  ^-^
