Was thinking of getting an LCD/Led TV so that when i want to just listen to music from my media player, I wouldt waste my projectors lamp hours. I know there are small screens that use HDMI but not sure if it handles 1080p
Requirements:
cheap
small size
HDMI 1080p (connected to AVR via 2nd HDMI port)
smallest ive found is from cdrking 16".. any other brand or smaller?

There are smaller ones sa cdrking pero hindi na ata 1080p. I've used their 10" monitors before. Walang HDMI so i had to use amalog. Works fine with me naman except hassle ang mga wires because you have the analog video wire plus the power supply wire of the monitor wherever you transfer seat or move.
You also might want to consider bluetooth connectivity. May mga receivers na may bluetooth add-on or capability where you can play your music files via android or ios devices.
Or you can also use a PC as a source. Ang daming wifi remotes for different apps sa PC.

I'd get a 21.5" monitor like this:

or
MyView's 24" LED TV (Full HD)

HTH! :)

Kung while playing music lang you can see the display/music list even with a low res screen via composite video out (yellow jack), why look for a 1080p screen pa?

I'll be connecting the LCD TV via the 2nd HDMI out of the receiver. the 1st HDMI out of the receiver is connected to the projector (1080p). I dont think i can set the resolution differently from each other.
If i had a 2nd seperate media player to the one im currently using for movies, then i can use a smaller screen via (yellow rca). but this means ill have to buy a media player and a tv rather than just a tv alone.

MyView 24px100 na 24" at around 6.9K pesos...
1080p na cya :)
Yung 19PX100 kasi 720p lang at 4.9K pesos...

You can control your media player (Mede8er 800x3d) via IPAD or any tablet.
Any reason why you dont want to go this route?

nagtataka nga ako when it comes to Computer monitors upto 19" can only display upto 720p. 1080p is for monitors 20"+
I have this impression that computer monitors have more resolution than TVs yet I find a Led TV 16" that supports 1080p. does the tv downsize the 1080p signal?
-
Yes kahit second hand na IPAD Mini, okay na...
Sabi sa manual nya, pwede ang android...baka you also need the latest firmware..

Thanks sir but I need 1080p :)
Also tried to buy HDMI to DVI converter to use on my 19" computer monitor... did not work :( 7xx din resolution kasi

Onkyo TX NR616 ba AVR mo?
-
I am afraid you will not find a monitor that small with 1080p because there is no demand for it. That size is tablet territory. In the event I am wrong and you find one, please shoot me a pm. I want one too.

yes sir i tied this.. you can only set resolution for both outputs. I cannot assign 1080p for main and 720 for sub out. has to be same :( works as a splitter lang siguro

Kahit na naka set sa avr ay 1080p or passthrough, wala nmang problema, kasi it will adjust automatically sa resolution ng tv mo. Gagana pa rin kahit 720p ang tv mo.
Sabi sa manual...
"Video signals are output from both HDMI outputs at the resolution supported by both TV"
Settings:
Monitor Out - Both
Resolution - Auto

ah ok sir i get it, parang mag auto at the resolution capable ng screen na naka on. anyway, might as well get 1080p capable tv just to be safe :) since bibili na lang din. thank you sir.. might go with the 16" tv

as with other media players, may composite video out naman ang Mede8er 800X3D mo. (http://www.mede8er.eu/products/800x3d/view.jpg)

yes but that would mean i have to turn on my projector - got to settings - video out to composite and reverse when using media player for movies via hdmi

You can connect your tv via rca ng media player direct. No need for reconfiguring to different resolution. And check your receiver, it has digital to analog for its video so you can also connect the monitor rca sa receiver.

sige sir Nelson try ko :)

a fellow PDVD member recommended this for Android device. its called Mediahouse. i can now play my files without opening the projector :)
BTW i also bought the mede8er app from the app store for my old ipad and i didnt like it.. couldnt make it to work most of the time and you had to add to favorites the files you want to play. With the the Mediahouse app its easier to navigate.. same as you would with a regular screen. you see all your files and best of all its free :)
