What a very good looking setup right there. I have been listening to 24bit rips of vinyl and they actually sound better than the cd. Vinyl has better mastering.  You'll be getting hours of enjoyment for sure.

Thank you sa mga nakapansin ke Chuck :)  Medyo masuwerte lang ako kasi mga pamana lang sakin ni erpats lahat ng LPs (marami pa yan) kasi collector sya dati.  Pero matagal na rin na hindi ko sila napapakinggan.  The last time we had a good/running condition turntable was late 80s pa.

Maiksing kwento lang, I'm blessed with a very supportive GF.  Pati sa gastusan walang kaso sa kanya, sya pa nga nagcacanvass at bumibili minsan :)  One night she came home and surprised me with a Sinatra LP.  Nung pinatugtog ko, narinig ko yung mild "popcorn" sound then Sinatra's voice... napaluha ako and the tears never stopped until the song finished.  Naalala ko yung days na buhay pa father ko. 

That's the main reason why i chose to get an analog setup first before digital.  The sound brings back so many memories.  Medyo emo... pero totoo :)

sabi nga ni TAS, your cart should be treated as an equipment and not as a consummable and be directly proportional sa investment mo sa audio equip.

I installed Amarra player and NoSleep apps on my Mac. Amarra has really good sound.  NoSleep, keeps my MacBook Air awake even if the lid is down. Looks neater. NoSleep toggle just sits on the status bar above the desktop.

Gamitin mo na lang. Ganun din naman. The gap between new and burned-in is so long that you really cannot A/B it.

I just want to share my experience with my Schiit Bifrost's performance.  I made a thread in the AUDIO section re: DACs before i bought my DAC and asked if burning-in would really improve the SQ of the DAC. I was a bit skeptical at first but i did it anyway just to prove to myself if it would indeed help improve the sound or not.

So, After 120+ hours of non-stop burning-in, i therefore conclude:
YES. GRABE.

Im not an audiophile and im not familiar with the terms, but the highs were noticeably crisper and much clearer than before.  Yan kasi ang reklamo ko kasi gusto ko crisp at walang dumi ang kalansing (especially sa hi-hat, cymbals and letter S sound sa vocals).

The mids - anlaki ng improvement. Pati yung paghiwalay ng each instrument (ano ba term dun) mas gumanda. Yung vocals parang kumakanta mismo sa harap mo. Ive never heard my simple system this good.

Bass department - i cant say since im not paying too much attention since walang acoustic treatment ang listening area ko.

Overall i was impressed and surprised at the same time. Burning-in your DAC will improve the overall sound :)

I've read in other forums that this DAC needs 300hrs of burn-in.  Magi-improve pa daw.  Let's see after 180 hours :)

Oh if you haven't figured it out, you can switch between the Mac speakers and the Bifrost by pressing OPTION key and clicking the speaker icon on the OS X status bar. It's a quick way to toggle.

I frequently use this when I am not listening so I can turn off my tube amp.

Sir PC laptop gamit ko ngayon. Wala akong makitang player na mac na similar to Foobar eh. Im thinking of dual-booting my MBP(win7) para may foobar hehe

I use a netbook to run Foobar on my home audio system. I use iTunes with Amarra with my Mac Mini desktop system.

The last time I tested, using the same JDS Labs ODAC RCA, the netbook sounded the same as my MacBook Air using iTunes and Amarra.

Kaya ba FLAC ng iTunes sir?  Ayaw ko na magconvert eh...  Nung nitry ko amarra kelangan pa iconvert yung flac files ko kaya balik PC ako.

Amarra can be a standalone player. You can load flac. But interface is simple list.

XLD is a very efficient converter for Mac and is very quick. I keep my master flac files.

May power amp na, wala naman preamp :p

Great stuff for a beginner.  Take good care of the 1200mk2.  It's now hard to find cause production of such has ceased.  But the 1200mk2 is built like a tank, and can be tweaked too for better sonics.  A lot of information in the net on how to tweak a 1200mk2.

Also, welcome to the aikido user's community.  I had mine for so many years na and have been very happy with it.

padami ng padami ang vinyl naten bossing :) AYUZ!  :D the next upgade that will change your system dramatically is an mc cart! yung high mc para kaya load nung mm phono mo. unless you will be getting a low output, then a new phono stage should be next.

btw, sa vinylhead records, sa calatagan makati, may release bukas nung bgong dating na stocks nila. 12nn-9pm boss open. :D :D

Oo nga sir REL nga kukunin ko kung sakali... kaso anliit ng listening room ko at naging problem ko ang bass. Siguro after acoustic treatment pagiisipan ko na kumuha ng sub :)

Tsaka na muna MC cart/phono boss dodie hehe ok na naman ako sa current setup :) Sir san banda yung Vinylhead? Malapit lang ba sa Hyperaudio?

kuha ka ng 8" or 10" sub like yung Rel T5. not sure kung available na locally ang Rel Series S.  pwede rin 12" na sealed like SVS SB1000 or SB2000.  or abangan mo next year ang bagong JL Dominion subwoofers. (8 and 10 inch sealed subs. ;) )
