Does any one knows about voca superamp? ( MODS, if there's a topic about this amplifier, you can erase this)
Heard this simple amplifier that looks like a voltage regulator, but when I looked closely, it has volume control and input selector only. I talked to this gentleman named Carlos Casas. Full of knowledge and one true inventor.

Medyo Hindi ko pa kaya ang price kaya hanggang pangarap lang muna. ;)

I remember when I suggested that the AMP be included in the DIY room during one of the November HIFI shows, the organizers and designer of the amp, Agreed, I listened to the amp, I dont know the topology of the amplifier, but its a regular sounding amplifier with a NOT SO REGULAR PRICE.

I met the designer Mr. Casas when I was at LIS 2 weeks ago... that's about it for my comment about the amp :D

Ok lang saken ung tunog, not really WoW! Pero hindi fit ung price sa amplifier.

Heard the amp last weekend connected to an ML montis and then Ars Aures. Nung sinabi nya 90K tanong ko agad kung fully balanced differential ba ang design, sabi nya hindi pa. Napaisip ako . . . mas ok kung maibaba nya pa ang price. Nevertheless Mr. Casas is a nice guy and just like any pinoy inventors proud na din ako sa contribution nya.

for an amp that sells for 80 to 90K pesos, it must weigh in at least 20kilos, any thing less is a rip-off...
if you want to help Filipino Inventors, patronise the products of Anthony Audio... ;)
or Mr. Aviso, who invented an electric car that can harvest rf energy from the surroundings... >:D

going back to amplifiers, there are a lot of Pinoys posting at Elab.ph, they are from Cebu and in Mindanao and to the North and in Baguio.....
still many of them are OFW's working in the middle east, and many of them are posting at diyaudio.com
these are young men and women into making amps for audio...
many of them can lay-out their own pcb designs and post them on the boards for all to download and for free...
and with china being a source of professional looking boards and cheap too,
it is now possible to make amps for all applications....
maraming mga talented young pinoys who can make those....

I met Mr. Casas decades ago when he had an office at Sto. Domingo. I listened to the amp. I listened to the man. All I can say is, anyone who shells out money for this amp truly "deserves" it (WINK).

I went to LIS yesterday evening, at napakinggan ko yung audio setup nila using the VOCA amplifier. I remember they were using a top-loading CD player (I forgot the name), and a pair of floorstanding speakers (probably fullrange drivers about 8" ata, with a pair of ribbon tweaters below the drivers, black color with "Zu" label). During my very short listening session (about 5 minutes siguro), maganda naman yung tunog ng setup nila kagabi. Would have wanted to stay longer, pero kailangan ko na rin sunduin ang girlfriend ko. Walang tao doon sa room, kaya hindi na ako nakapag-tanong ng other details regarding the setup.
