Lamang ang One B sa bass department..... But the 3a has tighter and more detailed bass... Quick impression lang kanina yan base sa short comparison ko plus wala pa sa correct position ang 3a kanina... the rest lamang na for me ang 3a... Will have a more comparison session tomorrow pati type ng music..

How's the Nextel cloth? Kinda intrigued with Ref3A's choice in reinforcing the cabinet with that material. When I chanced upon the Dulcet in Watt Hifi, I didn't dare to touch them because I know I can't afford those speakers. ;D

He he he... actually its not a cloth but painted with Nextel paint... Para syang suede to touch..... Kakaiba sya... I still like their old furniture grade finish than this he he he.. Pero its the sound that counts he he he..

Nope... Dual sub in front is for HT only.. Hindi sya connected sa Audio setup.. I do use Rel for Audio but was turned off when i recorded the video... De Capo lang tumutunog dyan...

1. From the video sound, you cant hear the details of the bass.. instruments..
2. The sound of instrument from the video is not as detailed as in actual..
3. You can hear too much echo in the video, but you can hear the Airy voice of Patricia Barber.. If you use a headphone.. mas mapapansin mo yung Airyness ng boses ni patricia barber which was captured by the video.. The airy voice will be felt from the listening position na parang umaandar papunta sa likod...(Hirap explain)
4. From the video, di mo mapansin na umiikot ang mga instruments from left to right and vice versa..
5. Di mo masyado pakinig ang details ng cymbals..
To sum it up.. laking ganda ng Audio sa actual vs the one recorded, but then again some were captured sa video...

All I can say is wow, those are really wonderful speakers.
I heard the floorstander version during the November HiFi show, and now the bookshelf counterpart.
Especially when mated with the REL sub, wow, full-audio spectrum-porn..

I saw the De Capos and decided to listen to it powered by Rega Elicit Amp..
I'm speechless on how it sounded.. My ears was surrounded by awesomeness...Kung wala pa akong De Capo, baka napabili ako ng di oras he he he.. I asked them to change the position bec the tweeter should be on the outer part... ;)
I asked them to connect the smaller Dulcet brother, napakaganda din pala tumunog ng Dulcet na yun

I think so sir Joey, the one i have is the one with white Surreal Acoustic Lens. I guess color lang difference because when i inspected the one in Watts, walang pinagkaiba dun sa nakakabit sa akin

Its a demo area so im sure maganda treatment ng room.. cant do that in my Sala...
Well the difference actually is mas may bass dun sa demo area vs sa Sala ko which is more than double the size of the demo area plus walang treatment and hindi carpeted ang sala ko... Thats why i blended my rel nicely sa De Capo... Ngayon when i listen to de capo, the bass are like coming from the fronts and no localization.... The de capo really blended well with my rel..

Sir Joey, the demo area where they put the de capo in watts hi fi is really small and the de capos sounded really good in that room. Tight punchy and detailed bass. Put my synchrony one b there and for sure it will be boomy, pero sa de capo hindi..

Agree in the LM KT-88...I had the opportunity to own one paired with the De Capo...Musical Bliss...THOUGH it's a different experience when you're into SET or SEP.

I will be very honest...I have tried both Rega and Creek with the Ref3A MM DeCapo BE. Produces a so-so sound -- must be system matching. It cannot bring out the real potential of the DeCapos. Best bet really is Audio Note, Leben, Rogers, Almarro, Class A Accuphase, SET Line Magnetic. I have tried an Accuphase E250 with the Ref3A and I felt the speakers were "shouting". These speakers perform best for amplifiers with power rating of 8wpc to 25wpc. Thanks!

Congrats! I had a chance to audition these lovely pair 2 weeks ago. The highs is very very revealing. I just wish I had the chance to audition it in a better room because yun demo room na ginamit was very squarish. Though maganda naman talaga yun lows, kinda exaggerated because of room modes. It was initially partnered with Rega CDP. Pero when we switched to Rotel, it transformed into a different beast! Lumabas yun mids and lows became tighter. Very critical and transparent siya. Pang wish list ito. Hehe!

You'll audition the stands? LM is carried by a different distributor vs. Reference 3A. Since you have your LM 217ia then why not bring your amp instead? Your amp is a 300B integrated amp (although I think this is already discontinued) and will not have problems with the Reference 3A either the Dulcet or De Capo. I have tried even a 3wpc amp with the De Capo and it sounded very natural and with ease.Yup based in singapore now. Are you the same guy selling audionote oto in xtremeplace?

guys, how do you clean your capos? doing some renovating here, im afraid the covers that came with it is not enough..
Kumutan mo ng cloth... Everyday my cloth na naka cover sa speaekrs, maalikabok kasi dito sa amin.
Anyway..
I clean mine gently with soft damp cloth. Yung driver, i use a soft brush to remove the dust..

Nako hindi boss. Those reflectors are way out of my league. I have the new MM de Capo BE that now comes in a piano black finish (instead of nextel).

I'm not sure if there are any internal modifications as compared to the Nextel de Capos but both sound excellent to me. The new piano black de Capos are supposed to have improved highs (smoother) and more coherent bass as relayed to me by Caloy himself who had the chance to A/B both models.
I haven't broken in my pair yet and I didn't do an A/B comparison among the two models but I like what I'm hearing with this new model. It's not choosy when it comes to music, be it rock, metal, jazz, etc. It's very versatile and easy to drive at 92db. I previously auditioned the nextel model and I can confidently say it has the same characteristics. In fact, as i said in an earlier post, I was ready to buy the Nextel already. But upon seeing this new model, I just couldn't pass up on the beautiful gloss piano finish (which is easier to maintain for me). And after hearing it sound so good as it is with no break in, I thought it was a no brainer. It should only sound better as it burns in more hours. I think there are still two pairs up for sale if you wanna check it out. Only four pairs arrived in Manila. It's not even on the Ref 3A website yet as it's a very new model and production is not in full gear yet according to Caloy.

No bro, the best part about the triton is its ribbon tweeter, mas sweeter but mas detailed
Yung sa reference, also yung sa reference meron syang midrange glare resulting to
Voice sibilance pag hindi maganda matching, but the rest like bass, imaging separation of
Instrument, mids talagang panalo reference. Pero if value for money tritons are hard to beat.
