Syfy and Warner Horizon Television are developing Krypton, a one-hour drama series about Superman’s grandfather set in, where else, the doomed planet.
Synopsis:
Years before Kal-El was born, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This series follows The Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest superhero ever known.
David S. Goyer will be executive producer of the series, along with Ian Goldberg. Goldberg is writing the pilot, based on a story conceived by Goyer & Goldberg.
It's unknown how this show will impact the upcoming Supergirl TV series, or if it will even be connected to the Krypton glimpsed in the Man of Steel movie.

Apparently, this is still happening, with an announcement for the main cast: Cameron Cuffe as Seg-El, Superman's grandfather; Georgina Campbell as Lyta Zod, a reluctant cadet and warrior in the Kryptonian military in a clandestine, forbidden relationship with Seg-El; Ian McElhinney as Val-El: Seg's grandfather, a staunch believer in space exploration; Elliot Cowan as Daron-Vex, chief magistrate of Kandor; Ann Ogbomo as Alura Zod, Primus of the Kryptonian military guild and mother of Lyta; Rasmus Hardiker as Kem, Seg's best friend; plus Wallis Day as Nyssa-Vex and Aaron Pierre as Dev-Em.
So basically, this is like Romeo and Juliet but set in Krypton?

From ComingSoon.Net
Krypton Cancelled at SYFY, Lobo Spin-Off No Longer in Development
Deadline reports that the world of DC on SYFY just got much smaller. The two season drama series Krypton was cancelled by the cable network, and the previously announced Lobo series has also been scrapped.
The outlet reports that the producers of Krypton are in talks with “other outlets” for the series to potentially live on elsewhere.
SYFY’s reason for cancellation is clear after looking at the series’ ratings however, which declined drastically in season 2 after a stellar debut in 2018.

season 1 was really good, season 2 was simply a mess - there were some good episodes, but most, specially the first ones must've brought the ratings down ... I almost stopped watching this after the first three episodes of season 2 as it went downhill so fast
