Hi guys. I need help in finding a truly knowledgeable repair person based in Mandaluyong or Makati. I've been struggling finding a long-term fix to my NAD amp. I've returned the amp for about 6x (no kidding) to the local distributor and they only claim to find it a "POWER CABLE ISSUE". The fact the i've used multiple cables really isolates that claim..
Anyway, if you know somebody please help me get in touch with him. I really need the help.

Don King Markcrenz "da man". He's from Congressional Area. Worth the trip.
Does your amp shut off automatically?

Yup! Pinipigilan ng self protection nung amp yung pagbukas nya. I suspect na merong dropped voltage somewhere. Nag raise na din ako ng ticket sa NAD mismo kinwento ko yung pagpapa RMA ko and how it was no help at all.
PS. Sa WattHiFi ko binili tong amp. They have been most kind and very helpful to me, especially Sir Rex. After going back and forth for about 6-7times the past year to have this repaired, at this point I am desperate and i am looking for skilled people to repair my unit.
-
Markcrenz is your guy. I had a sub amp that was deemed terminal by the manufacturer themselves. It took only Mark around 4 days to bring it back to life.
-
Will give him a go, medyo mahihirapan lang ako mag travel dun since bobo ako mag navigate hehehehe. Magkano inabot ng pa-repair mo sir Synchro?

Case to case basis siya mag-costing but it won't cost you an arm and a leg naman. Dinala mo ba sa distro directly or did the distro demoed the solution sa iyo? I mean if it's just power cord issue, they should have replaced it na lang.
-
Sa Watthifi ko dinadala. Si Sir Rex ang point of contact ko so transparent naman siya sakin na sa Distro nila dadalhin yung amp ko. So ang nangyayari is, pagbalik sa kanila nung amp tatawag si Sir Rex sakin para pabalikin ako sa WattHifi to show me that the amp is working again and then he'll tell me na the fix is "power cable swap" as per distro. Mga 6-7 times ako ganun. And pagbalik sakin gagana siya ng ilang linggo until it happens again.
I've swapped multiple cables, different regulators just to make sure walang surge na nangyayari. Madami din akong electronics dito including an HT and a high-end, high powered gaming PC na walang nagiging issue sa power.

Hahaha. Hi sir mark. Nag PM ako sayo 6mos ago pero I decided to give the distro guys another go at it kasi libre naman yung pagawa. Here I am again, back to scratch. Will get in touch with you soon.

@ TS
pag on ba nung amp niyo nag protection mode ba siya? As in red yung ilaw?
-
Ang issue nya kasi, pagsasak mo, nakaorange yung light, the instant you push the power button, its as if nagbubukas siya tapos mamamatay lang ulit back to orange light.
-

Yup. Ganyan din yung c325 ko dati pag inon. Red nga lang yung ilaw instead of orange.

-
I see.
It sucks to think na paperweight na tong amp ko may mdc dac pa naman to na nagustuhan ko ng sobra compared to rega and m1 dac. I really loved its sound and nanghiginayang ako palitan.

i off mo lang pag gagamitin...
this amp is an example of the CFA type of amps,
used many years back but later rediscovered
because many people like the sonic signatures of this type of amps...
a spin off from the NAD3020...

Hmm onga no, tnx sir tony i will try that later. Will keep you posted here :)

if your amp innards look like this, then this is the basis for my suggestion,
a space heater can really be used here....
the low power of this amp means that you can just leave the power
switch on all the time...this does not consume big power at idle...

Yeah...and it took the owner close to 3 months to pick it up hahahahaha.
Guys take note ha...Velodyne even emailed me that the unit is terminal already. Si Mark lang ang katapat naayos agad.

Got it. Malapit nga sakin ty very much

@Tony
Sir, this is a NAD375BEE/DAC nga pala. Im sorry if I failed to mention this here. So sinubukan ko painitan ng onti but the issue persists.
@china
Siguro. Who knows whats going on underneath the board..
-
that will benefit from a total reflow of solder pts. start from powersupply, power amp stage pabalik- baka yan lan problema, thermal stress ng pts due to age, thermal condn inside & use.
one thing i notice with vintage gears, large pads with clinched/bent terminals-add strength to solder joints vs new gears-mostly, small pads and inserted/protruding leads stands erect (can become weak easily due to thermal, vibration...)
on the other hand, kung nakaprotect mode ba kamo (?), maraming possibilities rin yan. for one, small or big DC presence sa speaker out (or before speaker relay).
-
isang channel lang most likely ang me output offset...

ayan po yung vid nung problema

Sana maayos yang amp mo bro....
-
-
May failed regulator daw and under observation hanggang ngayon. I dunno the details yet pero its being repaired NOT BY NAD but rather, somebody sir Rex (watthifi) trusts. Looking forward to this one actually..
fingers crossed..
