Title: Audio DVDs - Where to buy?

A friend would like to ask where he can buy audio DVDs here in the Philippines. I told him that I've seen some at O in the Powerplant mall. Baka meron pa kayong alam na ibang sources.

Post by: daigoro on Feb 20, 2003 at 12:32 PM: there are two types of dvd audio. there are some that can be played on non dvd audio capable players and ones that only play on dvd audio capable players. music 1 has about 10 of the former and 2 of the latter. don't remember the titles though. these are not that popular because of the high price of the dvd-a capable players.

Is that a real DVD-Audio or only DVD concert/compilation MTVs, we myt be mistakin for the format of DVD-Audio.

Yes but you can listen to the conventional tracks (DD 5.1) only. You can't listen to the formatted tracks that only DVD-Audio players can decode. Like movies, the same soundtrack program can be recorded in different formats (DD2, DD5.1, DTS, PCM Audio, etc) stored on the same disc.

OK yan just a little bit more expensive than a regular CD.. ok na yun at 550..

Let's be specific - there is only one type of DVD audio having music files in the folder Audio_TS in PCM with or without MLP lossless compression. For compatibility with other players in the folder Video_TS such disks may or may not have DD and(or) DTS sound track.
If all sound files are in Video_TS, that is not DVD audio, it is DVD video disk.
