What do you think is the best/worst time to buy a TV unit?
IMO,
Best = Feb/Mar/Apr (best time to buy old model units as this is the time when the new model comes in)
Worst = Dec ? (not sure if prices are highest here or do they give massive xmas discounts during this time?)
Or is the worst time to buy new units on April/May (when they first arrive?)
Anyone knows the historical trend?

Samsung releases their new models every June / July. Usually they do a sale on their older remaining inventory of these same months.

Ganito ang trend ---
May bagong model 2014. Tingin ka sa mall. Nagustuhan mo, pero mahal pa. Hihintayin mong bumaba ang presyo.
2015, may mas bagong model na. Mas mura na siguro ang lumang model. Punta ka uli sa mall. Wala na palang stock ng lumang model.
Pero mas maganda naman yung 2015 model. Hintayin mo na ring bumaba presyo.
May 2016 model na. Balik ka uli sa mall para bumili ng 2015 model. Out of stock na naman... :D

pag Sony brand,mga bagong model usually lumalabas every end of january. so buy sony tv mga december or early january.
pag bagong labas na model, mataas talaga price.parang celpon din,hehe

Best time - pag may pambili ka pero ubos na yung model na pinag ipunan mo. >:D
Worst time - pag available ung model na gusto mo pero wala ka naman pera. :(

Bro, baka type mo Samsung 55js9000... May nakita akong stock sa Ansons ATC kanina. Yung LG 65uf950t meron din. Pero 55uf950t wala din sila...

my previous lcd tv was samsung series 5,mag try muna ako ng LG, oo tama ka kahit saan ubos ang unit ng 55"uf950t, umorder nko dito sa robinsons lipa ng kaparehas ng specs pero curve nga lang sya,ang lg 55ug8700,kaso hangang ngayun dipa nasagot kung idedeliver sa lipa from novaliches ang nag-iisang unit,asarr sobra ako pards,kung kelan may budget at nagustuhan ang mga features ng tv,tsaka naman walang makuha..
rectangular shape ang living room namin from the wall,to sofa mga 2.8 meters lamang ang lapit,kaya di advisable ang 65",baka daw maduling ang aking ama kapag nanunuod,kaya ok na daw ung 55"

Tama kaya sabi ni salesman sa 1 appliance store na this october-november nagbababa ng price sa tv, pagdating daw ng december hindi na kasi mas may pera na ang mga tao at mababa or hindi ang price ay bibili talaga ang tao dahil sa marami satin naka plan na bumili ng december.

Got a call from my friend @ Robinsons Lipa,Ubos na unit ng LG UG8700, last night I call philip morris cruz,an online seller of LG Philippines,gagawan ng paraan daw this morning,kaya balik na nman ako ngayun sa makati para bumili ng tv,wew,ang daming pauli-uli..

Minsan lugi ka na din sa tagal ng pag pili hehe.. mych better to buy models a notch down tsaka pag may budget ka na.

if possible, dont rush buying tv these days,malikot at pabago bago pa ang technology saka yung contents na panonoorin mo.
hold on first, then kung medyo settled na ang technology, then go full blast to avoid regrets.

For Sony TV, in my experience December is a good month to buy. During their Christmas promos, they would usually drop the price of their premium models (you know, the ones with the excellent panels; I don't care much about "smart features"). Sometimes this is not immediately obvious, since the price drop of the unit is offset by bundling lots of "freebies" (which you know you are also paying for). But at the end of the day, you can sell off the bundled stuff, and end up with a low net price for the unit alone. And besides, I find it easier to ask for discounts during holiday season.
That's what I did 2 years ago with the Bravia W900 Triluminos top-of-the-line (for non-4K models). After selling the bundled HT, PS2, and digicam, I ended up spending just a few thousands more than if I bought W800 series. Then a couple of months later, they replaced the model with a (usual) super expensive flagship model.
Now if we are referring to 4K TV, regardless of brand, the worst time to buy a 4K TV is NOW. Not a lot of 4K material is available, plus 4K TVs with good upscalers are expensive, so there's a chance you would end up liking the picture quality of your 1080p videos on your existing Full HD TV than if you upscale it on a "regular" 4K TV.
