90movies 10music
semifinal.hehehe
due to budget problem(going to 7.1).suggestion lng mga master
a. wharfedale 230 floorstander
onkyo444
or
b wharfedale 220 bookshelf
marco pilyo sub
onkyo 444
c or kung may magbebenta dyan ng mura
-
I vote floorstanders for movies :) how much is your budget?
-
my vote goes to letter b. Settings mo sa receiver ay small din naman so same lang din bs at fs.also fs cannot reproduce lfe movie effects like rumbling sound bomb explosions etc
Just my opinion po.
-
bookshelves. 5.1 is enough if on a budget. ;)
-

Whoever said that does not know what he is talking about. Stay away from that store :) UNLESS he meant buy the FS first and add the sub later on.....
IMHO, I would rather have an entry level bookshelf with an awesome sub, vs an awesome bookshelf with a entry level subwoofer
For HT, the SUB is VERY VERY critical.
-
B for me... Bookshelf and sub
-
-
Ay sorry didn't notice na walang sub yung fs.. yeah mas ok may sub for movies... so changing my vote to B.. gawin mo nalang pang surrounds pag nagkabudget na to acquire a floorstanders
-
Ako FS + powerful receiver + sub hehe!

balak ko kasi yun muna then after 1 month bili ulit hangang mabuo yung 5.1
-
Based on your options and application, I would choose B. Mas significant difference ang maibibigay ng may sub compared if you settle for an FS w/o sub.
But if your plan is building piece by piece and eventually setup a 5.1 system, then FS may be a better choice, im not just sure if your chosen receiver can make it perform to its full potential for other applications.
-
what's your room size?
if you have a large room, floorstander. if you have a small room, bookshelf.
-
B, then upgrade later to FS, then assign the BS to surround...
-
you'll most probably also buy speaker stands for BS, konti diff na lang FS na
-
setting sa small to fs and bs malaki ba difference?

Try both fs & bs.
-
-
Hth
Btw, avoid text speak po. ;)
-
if you have the space for Floorstanders, i suggest you get FS. But be patient. It might be better to save up for 3-5 months then try to get a good deal on a set
-
Big Bookshelf
-
Have a 6m x6m x 8ft room. Definitely floorstander?
-
Fs for dat size,no doubt. Bs is for small room 20sqm below as per wharfedale standards. Due to space constraints not all can use fs,hence its a privilege. Besides,fs really sounds better esp for music than bs as a rule.
Its more pricey though..

That's a rule?

I presently use a Dali Zensor 3 mated to a Marantz pm6005.
Need to upgrade to a floorstander to fill my 6mx6m room? Any recommendations? I suppose i need to change my amp as well.

May nabasa ako na sometimes, a FS is a BS with stands. May mga BS din kasi that can beat some FS with ease. For me I think your room can accomodate a FS provided na may nagustuhan ka talagang FS.

Tannoy Precision 6.2 or the cheaper Tannoy XT6F
-
Have you tried added a subwoofer ?

Adding a sub will require me to get a new amp as well (pm6005 has mo sub out).
Thats why am considering a full revamp as cost may not be far off if i sell my gear.
Cant seem to find anybody who has a Dali zensor 3 with sub set up.

Ill check out sir. What the ideal midpriced amp for this? Thanks!

you can use a REL or a Sumiko sub, which uses a Neutrik speakon connection if you don't have a sub-out. ;)
-
That's a rule?
Well the Dynaudio Special 25 has something to say about that

Am sure there are compromises on the neutrik speakon connect. Can you tell me any downsides

Goldenear na sir :)

Any type of speakers will do. Just experiment for the right speaker placement or position..

Where can i get these Rel subs? Any local distro?

Meron yan sa:
Watts Hifi (MCS Makati look for Rex)
AVShop
Sound and Vision (c/o Tein)
Decibel Audio
Check mo yung marketplace.
-
Check out SVS too, they have subs with speaker level connection and their much cheaper and performance is bang for the buck

Tama. Treating a room is also equivalent to upgrading your gears in terms of improvement. He has absorbers and diffusers din. AFAIK, may ilalabas pa siyang new product, yun fabric lined acoustic absorbers for those who deem WAF as very important.
-
What is the primary intention for the room?
Is it music or HT?
The gears and speakers you will use is greatly dependent on the intended purpose.
Apology in advance if I missed out on the intended use of the room.

^ Jojo I think it's for music. Marantz PM6005 is an integrated amplifier.
-
@CoolToysPh -- Yes, for Music strictly.
@Nelson, -- on side of the room as Heavy Thick drapes spanning 4 meters. Across the speakers are open cabinets.
-
If for music, consider DIY with bigger diameter woofer 12" to 15" or Klipsch Heresy (new or old production) & forget about the .1 (sub) if no problem with space.

Drapes is good sir. It can absorb high frequencies. It may also have an effect on mid-high frequencies depending on what is behind the drapes.

Last question mga master, if i stick to bookshelf speakers, will a Rel T5 be sufficient, or i need a T7. The latter is significantly pricier
-
Kung audio lang 1 REL T5 will do . .

I got the t7. World of difference

Ang bilis ah! Proper sub integration na lang, it will be like wala kang sub.
-
I put the t7 within 3 ft from left front and in the corner of room. Sounded ok. Just need to play around with location. Wife approved!

Awesome.. I love Rel subs... As per sir Nelson, proper integration na lang kelangan which is actually the hard part...

Minsan they lows tend to sound biased sa sides especially kung walang kasabay na lows from the speakers.
