Hey guys!
After a relatively long hiatus from HT stuff, just finished building up a new one. :) It's in our bedroom in a condo unit, so the space is relatively small and the setup does give a pretty good HT experience for what it is.
Here we go, sharing the gear with a 5.1.2 config:
LG 65" UF860V
Anthony Audio Titus Gold FS
Anthony Audio Titus Gold Center
Anthony Audio Atmos Speakers, Front
Anthony Audio Atmos Speakers, presently used as surrounds
SVS SB-2000 + Auralex Subdude v2
Onkyo TX NR-646
Mede8er 500x2 + 4 bay external RAID 5
OTT MS8

-
congrats !!!
-
Uy ang ganda ng setup ninyo, RJ. Congratulations!
-
Congrats bro..nice setup :)
-
Those speakers are designed for big rooms pwede rin pla sa small area for total movie immersion. Btw how big is ur small area?
-
RJ, tama ba ang nakikita ko. May stands ang titus gold FS mo?
-
Very nice. Congratulations!
-
Thanks guys! The wife and I are pretty happy with it naman. :) The setup is meant for almost 97% movies/tv stuff. Overall i think maganda naman lumabas.
@gaijin - everything considered, though i guess you can "always" do better (hehe), the A Audio in our small room sounds pretty good. Thanks!
@geriboy - hey doc! Thanks. :) yes doc, the FS are elevated about 7" off the floor (spikes included). Just tried to line up the tweeters to near ear level. Thanks again!
@zram18 - our room is just around 10x13ft, the ceiling is about 9ft high. Medjo maliit siya talaga since nasa condo kami. And yes sir, plan was to get that movie house feel kahit na maliit room namin, so far so good. Thanks again!
-
Aha, sa'yo pala yung Atmos speakers na nakita ko one time. Congratulations on the setup, sir! :-)
-
Congrats sir! Puyatan nights na.
RJ, tama ba ang nakikita ko. May stands ang titus gold FS mo?
Mukhang maliit na pedestal sir ano? I think the idea is itaas yun tweeters.
-
mas maganda siguro yan may bass shaker sa ilalim ng bed
-
Panalo! & the ATMOS speakers looks great atop on the FS!
-
mas maganda siguro yan may bass shaker sa ilalim ng bed
with a pb2000 you won't need a bass shaker :).

@zonks - haha, not a bad idea sir. But i think i get enough shake from the setup for now. Salamat!
@at_sunset_blvd - thanks sir, sir anthony was kind enough to take my request to have the width and depth of the atmos speakers match the FS. :)
@shoktongxxx - bro shox!!!!!!!!! Musta na? Sabihin mo lang kung kailan, hehe. Salamat. :)
@glennman - will PM you in a bit. ;)
-
Let's be Proud of A-Audio speaker!
Congratulations on your great set up!

he he he patay sila. super immersive set-up!
congrats sir. ;D
-
Congratulations on the very nice setup sir! Musta naman yung vibrations and sound absorption ng condo nyo? Wala pa naman nagrereklamong neighbors? Same setup tayo (except for the atmos part. mine is just 5.0 and in the sala), condo rin using floor standers.
-
Nice set up bro....bedroom pa lang yan....
-
Thanks again guys! :)
@choyb - yes sir, partly the reason why i chose A Audio. Gawang pinoy. Thanks!
@Louie_18, @Courage - yes sirs, fan of the big center as well. This one from sir anthony surely delivers. Salamat!
@jlaw, @luis - haha, no complaints just yet sir. Elevated the sub with an Auralex, and elevated din ang mga FS, hopefully it helps with the rumbling. Thanks!
@Blackstar - haha, as i mentioned above sir, wala pa namang nagrereklamo. Your setup sir should be ideal para sa condo (5.0 - no sub), in my case, i really wanted a sub, so i got an Auralex hoping na makakatulong sa vibrations. So far so good. ;) thanks!
-
sir saan niyo nabili auralex ?
-
@shoktongxxx - bro shox!!!!!!!!! Musta na? Sabihin mo lang kung kailan, hehe. Salamat. :)
yun! sige doc PM kita sa FB pag may free time ako at pwede ka. :)
Congrats ulit! :D

How much did you spend for those speakers?
-
@ivannn - PM sent
-
@rj_md - sir, where did you buy your rack? ganda!
-
Very nice!
-
@flashDB - actually, i made that sir, haha. Decided to make it my personal project since i could not find any console table that matches my needs. Thanks for the nod! :)
@tein - thanks! Thanks for the med800x3d this afternoon as well. ;)
-
haha! nice! im looking for a rack similar or perhaps exactly like yours for easy reach on cleaning, wire mgmt, and movable. parang may gulong sir tama ba?
-
Yes sir, merong gulong. :) same thing here sir, easier access for repairs and cleaning, and good ventilation for the gear. Good luck on yours!
-
Congrats doc! Nice to see another colleague here. I also have an A-audio speaker the King IV for audio.
-
@docelmo - thanks doc! Wow, good catch on the King IV. Thanks again. :)
-
Hehe enjoy the 800X bro. Big jump yan from 500X2..
-
ako run sir, pabulong. thanks
How much did you spend for those speakers?
-
@saolmatt - PM sent sir. Thanks!
-
congrats.. looks like a well sorted system. I am using an Onkyo TX-NR 737, I was looking at the 646 but the cheaper sale price of the 737 lured me... according to numerous reviews I've read, the 646 is very capable.
-
@dimfer - thanks sir! I actually just came from a 636...the 737 is a very good choice for sure. :) Yup, the 646 is pretty good, i would definitely recommend the 747 once you decide to upgrade. It addresses some of the issues of the previous models with the DTS-X upgrade option. Or better yet, maybe the 757? ;) thanks again.

Thanks PDVD! :)
where did you get that table =)
-
I think the 737 will stay for a while >:D I use it strictly for HT and quite a step up compared to my previous HTIB. The 646 was less than $200 more expensive than the 737 when I bought mine, and I could probably stretch the budget if so inclined, but I didnt. Main reason is I watch movies with my wife 90% of the time, and she complain when the sound is loud (same reason why I never upgrade my car's stereo/speakers), so the immersive effect of all the Atmos and other ek eks are usually suppresed. We were watching I Am Wrath last night, there was a bar scene, and the sound was actually pretty good, considering I am also using cheapo Mordaunt Short monitors as front speakers.
If I use the system for music, or I can crank volume way up when watching movies, then I would serious consider the 646.
how's the 646 compared to the 636? is having DTS-X a big upgrade?
I used to own a much more expensive receiver (Arcam Diva 300), but don't really miss it now that I use the Onkyo. I think Onkyo offers excellent value.
-
very nice system, rj_md! :D
I'm curious, what do you think of the SB2000's performance for home theater?
-
@joogeman - i made the table, hehe. Thanks! :)
@dimfer - Same here, mostly used for movies as the wife and i are very much into it more than music. Would most likely get a saparate setup for music if ever. As far as i know, i dont think the dtsx upgrade is released yet (the lack of material also makes it less of a priority). Its the little things, like improved accueq, lip sync, more minor adjustments on the fly, and overall setup that makes the difference (and more of a "future-proof" update if anything)...Yeah, i personally can't justify any update for my receiver anytime soon as well. You're on spot with the great value part. :)
@DTNS - i think it's excellent! I used to have a ported downfiring polk sub. The boom was there of course, but a tad too boomy for the room now (condo unit). I thought going with the SB2000 would still give me that low sound without the boom but minus a certain amount of character to the low end. I was very pleased to get an even fuller sound than my previous polk, and without the muddy, boomy bass. A tighter, more controlled sound for sure, but enough body for an enjoyable ht experience, especially in our small room setup (without distubing the neighbors...the auralex helps as well). :) if in a larger room, and not in a condo, i would most likely consider a bigger, ported svs. The sb-2000 delivers for our needs without a doubt.
