I am trying to build a dedicated home theater in a small room. I was watching a show titled Extreme Cheapskate, and decided if I can pull off and build a decent HT with cheapskate in mind ;D
So far here are the equipment I bought:
Fronts: Energy Floor standers Model A5+2 (Got these from clearance sale of AVDI) - Php 3,500
Subwoofer: 4 built in 8 inch active subwoofer Energy A5+2 - Php 0
Center: Kef Q9C (NOS came from Watt Hi-Fi, been in storage for 2 years) - Php 5,000
Surround: Energy Veritas (Got these from clearance sale of AVDI) - Php 2,500
Surround Back: Energy Encore (Got this from benzg of pdvd) - Php 1,500
Amplifier: Onkyo TX NR 809 (Got it here in pdvd) - Php 8,500
Source: Panasonic
Bluray with 500 GB HDD ( c/o Bhenard of PDVD) - Php 1,300
Projector: Marantz VP 12S4 (c/o Alice Go of PDVD) - Php 3,000
Projector Screen: 80inch fixed screen (c/o Bhenard of PDVD) - Php 900
Carpet: Almost new Imported from Japan will cover the entire room (Came from Japan Surplus) - Php 600
Will update on additional low cost materials and provide pics of the build.
Stage 1 Carpentry: 90% complete ( Jan 17, 2017)
Seating First Row: I got these 3 front row seats last saturday from Japan Surplus
Seating Second Row : I got this 3 seater recliner last December from Japan Surplus (middle can be retracted as cup holder)
Riser: I used an old wardrobe cabinet doors as platform for the stage

Front:
Equipment rack on the side and cabinets that will conceal all speakers.
Bulilit stage to get that theater look
That thing in the middle is a Sega HomeStar Planetarium that will project stars in the ceiling (with random shooting stars). Got it for 300 pesos from Japan Surplus.

Stage 2 Carpentry and Room Acoustics
Projector Screen Build - I painted the screen with a Nippon "Grey Knight" from Handy Man to give the DLP projector a boost in contrast ratio. Had it framed for 1.5k

Acoustics Build -- I wanted to replace a worn out ceiling, instead I covered it with a rug made of bamboo sticks I got from Japan Surplus for 500 pesos , then painted it black. Hopefully it will have a sonic quality to diffuse sound.

Absorber, corner base traps and Cloud Ceiling - Got a bunch of used rock wool from a defunct studio, Framed it and covered it with acoustically transparent fabric

Stage 3 - Accessories
Instead of painting the room, I covered it with black out cloth (curtain from handyman, which is on 50% off sale - Php 300).
If you notice the blue curtain from the initial pictures, that's the black out cloth I used to block any light and darken the room, which is really good for enhance PQ contrast ratio,

Nice. Who says you have to spend a lot for HT satisfaction. By the looks of it, I think you've achieved your objectives.
