I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom heard a loud POP, came out to check Monitor no power. I check the Voltage Regulator its still very ok w/ proper voltages in their respective outlets. No bad smell from the TV, is this still curable? Does these units have internal fuses?
No TV tonight alright ;D >:( :'(

power supply lang naman yan sir. Hopefully theres a fuse on the power supply board. The old ones have fuse.
-
sadly based on my experience fuses do not pop that loudly. Capacitors do.

hopefully if it is, it would be replaceable

If that TV will last 4-5 more years, OK at sulit na din. :)

OK nalang to for me than spending more, 46" naman & still works ok. for non stop power-on mode from 7pm to 6am. Sayang yung bago for this workload ;D

Tech says No Guarantee for the extended lifespan :(

I experienced the same thing with my 43" Sammy Plasma, I was in the kitchen and I heard like a book that falls flat on the floor, kind of a loud pop and then when I returned to the Sala, the TV is off already and it wont turn-on. Only the red pilot lamp is blinking when I press the on button of the remote.
Tried disconnecting and reconnecting the power cable but to no avail. Hope I did not make the problem worse than it is already. :-(
My TV have not yet reach 5 years and this past two years bihira na lang magamit dahil gabi na kami palagi nakakauwi and then sa tablet at laptop na lang nano-nuod ng movies.
Planning to bring the TV tomorrow, crossing my fingers and praying that it can still be repaired.
-
Same experience here with my 51" samsung plasma, mukhang commonn sa samsung.
My technician is also charging me 6k to replace the board, parang namamahalan ako. He said that he can buy my broken tv for 2k, ouch!
Any suggestion guys? Should I just sell or have it repaired?

Usually the PS could be easily replace rather than Panel Problems w/c is too costly.

If you still love the unit & wont like to buy a new one than for me I would have it repaired.

if benta mo, ako na lang bibili ng P2k :)
but if you still dont have funds to get a new one then pagawa mo na lang muna. Then save a year or 2 to get a new one. By that time lalabas na mga 8k models which will push down the prices of 4k models.
