Ok mostly movies...I’d go fot the Samsung simply bec the Sony here has a lower contrast ratio. Making blacks less deep esp in a dark room setting. Though not the most current model the KU6000 is still one the best entry level TVs. If you want to go for a Sony at that level see if the X80D not E is still availabe. Cheers!

Thanks for the tip sir, X80D would you have an idea as to how much a 55inch is?

X80E is actually the competitor of KU6000 but they're at different price points. Mas mahal ang Sony so I'd go for Samsung.

Sony for me. It's more durable. I had my 4k for 4 years and it's ok pa

Tho if budget is at 35k, someone messaged me that the Samsung 55MU6103 UHD is another contender? Konti nalang daw ang dagdag. Sorry im not familiar with the TVs now. Last one I bought was a Panasonic 37inch LCD TV about 7 years ago and damn its still running good and had no problems

Lowest price for the Sony 55 KD7000D I saw was 38k cash. How much is the Samsung, is it already HDR capable for the PS4?

Sa Abensons ba yung nakita mo? As for the Samsung, Im not sure lang if its HDR capable

Interested din ako diyan sa Sony 55 KD7000D. Saw one din for 38k. Kaya lang walang Triluminous Display.
Is Triluminous Display worth it? Or is the difference with non Triluminous Displays negligible?

Triluminos is what Sony calls their Quantum Dot backlighting. It enables them to offer a wider color gamut and deliver higher intensities. The panel type has more bearing for me, as improved contrast is easily more obvious than color gamut as long as the color gamut is adequate.
The company that provides "Triluminos" to Sony is actually QD Vision, a division of Samsung. Ironically, Samsung uses a competing company (Nanosys) for their own implementations.

The Sony can go a little brighter (500 nits vs 400 nits), so that may help it shine against high ambient lighting.

Is the price premium for a Sony still worth it these days?
When you look at their model lineup + specs parang hindi na sulit kasi. The only thing going for them is AndroidTV since Samsung insists on Tizen while LG is on WebOS.
Disclaimer: The last Sony I had was a widescreen HD CRT. ;D

They no longer carry a noticeable price premium in most markets. Though the local marketplace takes a bit more time to react, Sony TV prices are indeed going down to near that of its competitors. The brand value is slowly eroding, as younger generations can no longer relate to the brand (grew up after Sony's glory days). We can compare Sony's brand value against other everyday brands below:
http://interbrand.com/best-brands/best-global-brands/2017/ranking/sony/
Recent US data shows that short term failure rates are almost exactly the same between the major brands (around 1 out of 20 failing within 2 years, and failures get more frequent after that). That leaves image quality, feature set and support as the main quality considerations. This can easily be judged by the buyer.
