Title: IOTA electronics
Post by: hawk01 on Apr 20, 2020 at 08:14 AM
hello everyone,

i would like to get some feedback from people who have experienced buying direct from IOTA electronics out of the UK. is the importation process straightforward door to door service? any hassle with philippine customs? thank you

No experience with IOTA Electronics, but when buying from UK, I find it simpler to just use ShippingCart, especially for items worth more than P10k. They take care of customs clearance and (before lockdown) deliver door-to-door.

IOTA being direct seller claims they have shipped to the philippines before. as per quotation on their website, they pay customs duties and taxes, customer only pays shipping cost. they ship via DHL and quoted me £57.00 per website form. i was hoping someone here may have experience buying direct from them in the past.

Just a caution on DHL Philippines, my personal experience:

nakupo! mixed bag of feedback from the group here. i was afraid of getting ambushed when the item arrives here even if the shipper committed to paying the fees, etc. may end up paying more than expected.

I had the same experience with dhl. The service fee charged to me is almost the same as the price i paid for my item. 2k for the item, 1.5k for dhl.

Are you ordering the iotavx sa3?

I shipped 3 sim cards + documents using DHL, listed it down as sim card + document. DHL held the shipment due to needed NTC approval for the sim cards. Held the docs for a month, but it was released after, no added payment. When I called DHL, its because Customs personnel in DHL warehouse is adamant on the NTC approval steps thats why it cannot be released sooner.
