Do you still play your boombox today?
My first (from my own money) sound system was a Sanyo cassette recorder (boombox) in 1978. Today i still own a Sony (1981) but it is in my bodega. The cassette players are no longer playing, anyways all my tapes are gone.
Happy days when they are the gadgets of yesteryears!!

EQUALIZER! when I see a stereo w/ Equalizer I am really like "I really want one of those" when I was still in grade school but never have the budget for those stuff. During those times I really wanted BASS & TREBLE w/ low vocals & the Equalizer was the solution ;D

Me naka attached na sony speakers yan ganyan dba. kungdi sa cartimar sa cash&carry ko nabili ganyan set namin. early 80's ata ganyan.

un jvc stereo speakers pero 4" lang thickness at may shoulder sling, may D batteries din. nakarating pa ng baguio. served me for couple of years. tas sony aiwa. at hitachi o sanyo? before going into receivers and start audio journey by 1983..

but listening to some boombox, kapag nakikinig ako ng mga music from cassette tapes, every song may gusto akong tweak ng equalizer, then i-rewind ko ulet tapos patugtugin.. ^-^ hangang naging habit ko na..

dapat dito i-rewind para hindi madali masira yang cassette belt sa BoomBox ;D

baon ko 5 piso, itatago ko pa 2 piso araw-araw para mka-ipon ng 170 pesos (each) pambili orig na cassette tape (jon bon jovi, bread essentials, chris de burgh, air supply) tapos pagnahiram ng kapitbahay, hindi na isosoli, kasi hindi na matandaan kung kanino pinahiram.. :-X :-[

after boombox nauso un maliit pero hiwalay speakers
naglalaway ako noon tuwing mapunta sa raon at kita sa kanyo ng evangelista un technics separates.
