This one's already expected... but the question is, will they just merge the 2 movies or will they add some extended scenes...
-
Can't wait to get this! Decapitation in color! ;) Hope it comes in Digipac ala Raging Bull 2disc SE.
-
Hope this set will get a good treatment with special packaging! Yeah, an extended edition will be nice too! ;D
-
good thing i was able resist buying the individual releases of these titles, now is the time to save moolah for them, hehehe ;D
-
kaya pala naka sale na yung 2 dvds hehe ;D
-
i hope they include the yuki yubari scenes. i'm a very big fan of gogo and hope they include her sister this time.
re the bloody fights in b/w, i think sinadya para mag-focus ang audience sa scenes. ::)
-
Good thing I also haven't purchased the first 2 releases. :)

Release of the new edition has been delayed...no plans of when this edition will hit the streets. Too bad, I was eagerly anticipating it's release. Big fan of the movie...and Tarantino.

WOW swerte talaga ni classicman. I also want this movie and have been making pigil till the right version comes out ... I want the movie in a set, in dts, R1 and uncut just like the japanese version ;D I'm kinda scared of getting other regions kasi I get so disappointed pag yung kasama na booklet/insert is written in another language too. Sayang bayad for me ... that's just MY preference of course

Kill Bill
Nearly two years after the final installment hit theaters, director Quentin Tarantino is finally going back to kill more Bill. Digital Spy reports that QT will release a merged version of both Kill Bill films to cinemas. "I want to cut the whole movie together like one big epic with an intermission in the middle like a 60s film," explained the effusive director. "It'll be coming out in theatres. I've been holding off because I've been working on it for so long that I just wanted a year off from Kill Bill and then I'll do the big supplementary DVD package." Work on the extended cut, tentatively known as Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, is set to begin shortly with a theatrical release through The Weinstein Company in late 2006.

I'm eagerly anticipating this release. I've been holding off from purchasing the bare bones version for quite some time now.

actually, the current release contains many features... and for sure, the future cut would be very different from the one we have now. unless of course, we'll all get the future korean or japanese release.

from the digitalbits.com:
Also, our sources in the know are telling us that the reason for the delay of Quentin Tarantino's long-awaited Kill Bill: Special Edition DVDs, is that the release rights to the Kill Bill films have left Miramax with the departure of the Brothers Weinstein. That would mean that any DVD release is going to be handled directly by The Weinstein Company, through their new DVD distribution partner, Genius Products (Derailed will be the first Weinstein film to be released by Genius on disc, on 3/21).
-
Guess we gona have a very long wait... :(

Kill Bill in full
Jun. 21, 2007
Source: Slashfilm
by: Dave Davis
Quentin Tarantino undeniably makes some great movies, but he's not exactly what you'd call focused. Or reliable. He's been talking up KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR since 2005, promising a wide theatrical release with a blood-drenched NC-17 rating. Needless to say, we haven't seen that yet...
Will we finally see The Bride slice through the House of Blue Leaves in full crimson glory (as was released overseas)? Amazon has the 247-minute complete cut (which is still only the total runtime of the two existing films together, so who knows if this is a "director's cut" with additional footage) now listed for DVD release on November 6th of this year, in a loaded 4-disc package under the name KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR.
No specifics of special features have been announced, and there's no way to tell if that date is even remotely accurate given Tarantino's capricious nature and the aggravatingly sporadic release methodology of the Weinsteins (DEATH PROOF is listed with a Sept. 18th street date at the moment, though it'll no doubt be double or triple-dipped later). And considering I've waited this long anyway, I'll probably hold out for HD/Blu-Ray...
-
from Digital Bits:
First up, this is completely unofficial and has yet to be confirmed by an announcement (consider it Rumor Mill worthy), but it looks like Genius Products and The Weinstein Company are finally readying Quentin Tarantino's ultimate Kill Bill and Death Proof, along with Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror presumably, for release on DVD this fall. Amazon.com currently shows an 11/6 street date for a 4-disc, 247-minute Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair DVD. Meanwhile, Grindhouse Presents Death Proof is also shown as a 9/18 release. There's no Amazon entry yet for Grindhouse Presents Planet Terror, but you'd have to assume it'll be released around the same time. Rest assured, we'll post the official details as they become available.
-
keeping all fingers crossed...if that's even possible. ;)
-
This just might be the most awaited DVD for me. Will definitely get this as long as the price does not exceed USD50.00 hehe . Baka maubusan na ko ng budget for DVDs this Christmas ;).

Kill Bill Super DVD Finally On The Way?
With added anime gubbins?

Kill Bill Super DVD Finally On The Way?
Remember four years ago when we were all anticipating the, surely, imminent release of a big super-duper giant-sized DVD box set of Kill Bill? You know, the one Quentin Tarantino kept promising us? Well, try to put yourself in a 2004 frame of mind (listen to some Franz Ferdinand and get an ironic mullet, if it helps) because that DVD may be soon to arrive.
Uma Thurman spoke to MTV recently and said that the set, known as The Whole Bloody Affair, is imminent, and that there would be new footage added. "Right now [Quentin] is putting the two films together with an intermission with an added anime sequence he had already written," she explained. "So, additional stories are in there, in animation". She added that the anime "has nothing to do with [The Bride]. It has to do with another character".
Way back when, Tarantino said that he wanted to make further sub-stories for the film and that anime installments would be an origin story of Bill and his goons, and another on the history of The Bride. Could this extra anime be the former? He's also mentioned wanting to make a sequel to the movie, following a revenge mission by Nicki, the daughter of Vernita Green, slain by The Bride in front of her child's eyes.
So, is it too late to be bringing a new box set out? We don't think so. We still love the first film to bits and have a lot of affection for the second. One of our number actually saw the two films spliced together by Tarantino and said it worked really well. More footage, plus lots of extras, would have us reaching for our wallets.

I hope it's finally about the promised revenge story of Yuki Yubari for her sister Gogo

from rt:
Finally, Kill Bill Vol. 1. AND 2 Is Coming
There have been false Kill Bill alarms before. Could the long-awaited special DVD re-release of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2 finally be on the horizon? So sayeth the folks over at DVDtown, who shared a single release date -- September 9 -- as the official Blu-Ray release of the dual titles. But should we believe it? The timing would seem to make sense, after Uma Thurman let slip in April that QT had already completed one of two promised anime back stories, so break out your yellow Game of Death jumpsuits and katanas and get excited!
-
Just read in Highdefdigest.com that the street date of the BD version is on Sept. 9. Guess it's a good news... but no so good for me since it'll be released in separate volumes again. I'm kind of expecting a merge version...
