Title: Entry Level A/V Reciever ??
Post by: fweyd on Aug 07, 2005 at 03:55 PM
im planning to buy an AVR for my pc . . kabit ako ng 2 200 watts 8 impedance 3 way floor standing speaker pati 2 80 watts na sony bookshelf speakers..

ano kya magandang brand ?? gusto ko kasi 4.0 yung sound ko, tapos im just gonna buy an extra DTX 4.12 or something to act as a sub.. basta i want a 4.1 sound setup sa computer ko, pati sana hindi sabay sabay yung tunog kundi surround tlga.. pano kya toh ?? SB Live sound card ko, hindi 5.1 . .

If hindi discrete surround yung sound card mo, as you say in the case of your SB Live, you'll never get "sana hindi sabay sabay yung tunog kundi surround tlga" if you connect that to whatever AVR you buy. Most you'll get is extrapolated pro-logic type surround.

Diba most mobos have AC-3 support already? If you have the spdif jack sa mobo mo solve ka na.

SPDIF OUT  ;)

PC ang source mo diba, so signal flow mo PC --> AVR --> speakers

Cheap is relative. Sa mga branded, I suggest go for Yamaha RXV-450, P13xxx na lang yata. Or bring a knowledgeable friend with you along to the pier for some really good surplus finds (look for the relevant thread). Or bantay ka lang Member Exchange marami dyan mabilis mangati magupgrade

maliit lang naman room ko.. mga 3m x 4m lang .. ang natatakot lang ako, baka hindi gaano kaganda yung Z-5300 pag dating sa music.  :-[

Tingnan mo yung Sakura, maganda feedback dito ng ilang PDVD members na gumagamit nun.  Also try to look for the latest Konzert AVR600, ito latest nila, bago lang inilabas.  Or nandyan din yung Plardin, Promac, etc... these AVRs are dead cheap, 3.5k-4.5k lang as compared to branded na ranging from 10k-up.

Just go to Raon. Maraming shops at maraming choices, pwede ka magpa-demo at maghanap ng babagay sa taste mo.

if you want 4.1 surrounds from your sound card you must connect it thru analog coz you will only get 2 pcm channel from the digital out of your sound card. if you want digital 5.1 from your pc you must use a sound card with a dolby digital encoder like the hda x-mystique.

If your motherboard is a new one, chances are it already has a built-in 5.1 audio processor with s/pdif and even an analog 5.1 out.  If not, get any sound card with 5.1 and s/pdf.  They're dirt cheap at less than 1T.  A little better would be the Creative Audigy LS.

If you plan to use s/pdif, i think you would need to get some branded AVRs.  I am not sure this connection is available for many Sakura and Konzert models.
