i saw a copy of the 2 disc Batman and Batman Returns. selling individually for 650 ata. di ba dapat mas mura ito than the new batman dvd which sells for only 500 with comic book pa, since its an old movie.  ;D

sir El Zar posted in the Batman Begins thread that he saw this title at Astro Glorietta yesterday.  Per our mods (see thread Nov. 2005 warner releases) its priced at P2,500.00.

Saw this at Astro Mega and it is priced at 2,500.

But yung individual sets are selling for 695.

Yup parang ang mahal yata.  I'll be getting the boxed set of this soon.  Ipon lang ng konte.

yung individual sets na 695, yun din yung laman ng anthology na 2-disc per movie?

guys, may dts ang SEs. ;D Is it safe to say that they're better buys than R1? Some of us are hesitant to buy the R3 versions kasi baka wala daw dts. Pano na yan? ;D Still thinking of what region to get...don't like Batman & Robin too much. Might get them individually na lang. But the R1 box set will definitely be a good addition to my existing measly box set collection. ;) Decisions, decisions... ;D

i guess this is the the same transfer and packaging Taiwan and HK have released. Korean Release adapted the R2 covers and R1 box:

The slipcase covers are the same with the R1 release. Di ko lang alam yung dvd cover. Am tempted to get these already instead of the R1 counterparts. Any suggestions? ;)

IMHO always go with R1.  But if the price difference is that much, then get the R3.  I think it reflects exactly the contents of the R1.  Ako I'm getting the R3.  I don't think I'm gona let this go in the near future kaya I'm not too concerned with resale value.

ako, ill base my decision on the actual packaging. R1 looks better. small price difference naman. i mean very far from The Polar Express gap standpoint.

nevertheless, im getting R1 and R3. R3 for opening. R1 for display.

just opened mine...i got batman and batman returns only since i really really really detest the other two  ;D...  the DVD covers are similar to the slipcase covers...and not at all like the pics posted above.  theres something wrong with the dvd covers, slightly blurry...i can't really place whats wrong with them though....

cant wait to watch the second disc and listen to tim burton's fantastically informative (according to reviews) commentary  ;D

i just got my r3 copies of batman and batman begins(the only other true bat films besides bats begins)
and i have a query.  when i opened the batman dvd, it seems the first disc is r1. yung umpisa e may lumabas na fbi warning that usually starts all r1 discs,  although all the others were r3.  is this an exception o lahat ng disc one ng bats na available dito e r1?  input guys...

A lot of Warner releases are multi-region now. If you're using an R3 player that's been modified to be region-free, then the disc defaults to the R1 intro. If you had a strictly R3 player, it would show you the intro appropriate for Asia. Same thing happens with my Pioneer DV-380.

it says on the disc region 1.  im familiar with warner discs dahil nakalagay dun sa disc itself
kung r1 or 3.  the bats disc has region 1 stamped on the outer rim of the disc kaya im curious
if anyone else got this.

I just opened my R3 Batman Anthology Set. Ingat na ingat ako sa pagbukas kasi di siya slipcase. You have to open either the top or bottom flap to get to the discs. The four movies are in Amaray casing, with the artworks mirroring the R1. May napansin akong printing error sa Batman Returns. The film credits on the rear cover are for Batman & Robin. The rest of the Batman Returns' rear cover is correct naman.

I went over the special features of the discs in the Anthology at Astro and noticed the Shadows of the Bat feature which is split into parts that span all 4 DVD's.  Any info on what are in these featurettes?  I'm also not interested in getting all 4 DVD's (probably just Tim Burton's works), but I'm wondering how much will be missed in terms of special features if I pass on the last two duds. ??? Hopefully not much.  Thanks.

dont worry... shadow of the bat featurettes delve mostly on the movies.  meaning, parts 1-3 is about batman and part 4 is about batman returns.  I did not get the last two sequels as well...

i think it's an utter waste of time to get the anthology box set dahil the last two flicks of the series are
crap.  just get the first two ones by burton because that is all that really matters and discard the ones by
schumacher.  storywise, they don't have anything to say besides destroying the tone of the first two bat flicks.
then again, for the completists out there, di kumpleto kaligayahan nila kung wala yung dalawa so...

Aaahhh! Are you saying you're judging us who got the Anthology box set?  That's why to each his own.  For me I bought the box set and considered it as a whole and not the individual movies.  Sayang yung box cover for the oollection.  True the last two flicks were not that great, but still I'm interested in the bonus discs of each.

I'm very happy for my purchase and don't feel it was a waste of money.  Thank you.   ::)

Watched both Batman and Batman Returns yesterday. With regards to the video quality, Batman looks very dull compared to the transfer of Batman Returns. However, Batman Returns is still Tim Burton's most violent and sexually charged film. It should never have been marketed as a kid friendly film.

;D I am tempted to buy the boxset but this one's bugging me..Do all 4 movies retain their CARDBOARD SLIPCASES (like those sold individually)  and neatly stuffed inside the box?
Title: Re: Batman Anthology
Post by: daigoro on Nov 28, 2005 at 12:18 AM
This question was answered somewhere else in the forum. the warner box sets like james dean and Batman Anthology do not retain their individual cardboard slipcases that you get when you buy the titles seperately.
Title: Re: Batman Anthology

My Anthology also has the misprinted rear label on "Batman Returns"  ???, erroneously reflecting the credits from "Batman & Robin".  Is this misprint affecting only the Anthology boxsets?  I  checked the individually sold "Batman Returns" SE, and the cardboard slipcase does NOT have the misprint.  But since it was sealed I could not check if the amaray inside also has the corrected rear label.  Could somebody please confirm this?  Thanks  ;)

BTW, the "Batman" of my Anthology set also says Region 1 on the rim, but played in my computer even when set to Region 3 with no problems.  ;)

I bought the individual releases. Although the slip case of "Batman Returns" has correct credits, the label inside on the Amaray case is also a misprint of the "Batman & Robin" credits. Weird!

I love the box, I could say mas maganda sa R3 release kasi yung R1 may top cover, R3 you will just slip the dvd's horizontally.

Warner contacted me yesterday to confirm that the label/cover error has been corrected. If you want yours replaced, you'll need to submit the defective one. No details yet on how and where this will be done but send me a PM with your name, e-mail, and contact number if you'd like to participate. Chances are you'll have to drop by the Warner office in Pasig.
