Audio Set Up in Paranaque

thanks to all for looking and appreciating..........
1. just made the rack myself, those aluminum posts are hard to find. got it from an electronic/electrical scrapyard in Pque and had the layers manuactured by local welders.
2. did not intentionally put glass layers.... so as to eliminate unwanted dusts.
3. the Concept 6 is good match for EL34 tubes, I initially got an EL84 (12wpc) as an entry and medyo kapos sa bass and power so I traded it back for the EL34 (25wpc)..... currently satisfied with the combo, especially on Diana Krall cds. tube roll na lang siguro after enjoying the stock.
4. finally finished with the room treatment of the HT, minor though in terms of cost. will post soon the finished product. the ones on the pic are experimental positionings.
5. the room is a dedicated one for HT and audio, with HT right behind the audio rack in pic.

I guess its the same TT that was once an occupant of your "cave" (which I initially saw at WS) and yes its still the same cartridge but plans to try also the grado green on it. My gears are plenty but no match to yours.

It's good to know that the unit is still in good hands. :) The AT-95E actually has a very good review. It's not readily available locally though. I had to order that cart from needledoctor. :(

tnx diesel........ though I am more into 2-ch audio than HT the reason my HT set up remains stagnant the last 3 years. The kids are currently enjoying it more than I do. BTW, you got awesome gears.

I'm one of the lucky few...no problems with the wife we really love watching movies and listening to music so anything that enhances the viewing or listening experience she supports she's actually paying for the LCD display for the HT.... ;D

you are one lucky dude indeed.... actually it is just my wife is not keen on upgrades, satisfied with what is on set up. the reason I misdeclare by 50% things that I buy para wala na congressional hearing. Baka bigla mawala yung bank privacy privilege ko. ;D

Me I gave her my ATM and just pre approve any purchases...pero same din upgrades are some of the hardest to get approval for ;D...kapag audio upgrades pero kapag visual upgrades as long as the means to pay is there (thank god for zero % interest deals!) nakakalusot naman....

Hi Supremeham, actually it is not a VHS, it is a spare Pioneer CDP used as a buffer between the center and the TV, may magnetic effect kasi yung center on the TV PQ ;D, with regards to your question, I installed a double-sided tape to hold the footings of the cdp on the top of the TV and for the rear, also taped a plumb bob (invertedly positioned in such a way the flat portion rests on the TV surface) to hold the CDP on near horizontal position. The center is likewise taped on the CDP. You can buy these double-sided tapes (3M or cheaper generics) at ACE or Tru Value shops, meron din yata sa Nat'l Bookstore. I just used the cheaper generics, and it has been holding the speaker and the CDP for months na.

1. Patungan ng monos - galing ito sa mga steps ng hagdan ng lumang bahay namin na ni-renovate, just halved it and nagkataon sakto then pinagawa ko lang sa karpintero plus varnish. meron pa akong 2 kung type mo bigay ko sayo free ... timbrehan mo lang ako kelan ka sa Manila.
2. Acoustic Boards - bought at MC Depot at P165 each (2'x4'), then again pinagawa ko lang sa karpintero plus painting. Medyo sensitive sa handling yung board so I suggest sa Davao ka bumili to lessen the risk of damage due to handling. As a reminder, iba yung gypsum (echo resulta nito) sa acoustic board ha.

Hi Diesel.... tnx, different sounding talaga ang separate audio from HT system... have already stopped on my HT upgrade (last siguro yung PJ this Christmas) and focused on 2 ch audio. Are you the new owner of the TS Audio posted on the other site?

A friend of mine whos just starting into HT (invested to flat LCD and entry level receiver set-up) and is still into P*****d copies asked me why go orig? I demoed my PJ to him and showed the same title, one in bootleg, and one in orig......hehe, after that he understood me investing to orig titles..... ;)

thanks guys (munskie, sups, diesel, docelmo, docnerve, matz)... actually the kids are the ones enjoying it most right now.. operator lang ako ng mga requests nila :) saka na ako pag nagsawa sila, ewan ko nga lang kung kelan un :D you're right comparing origs from bootlegs... no amount of adjustments can produce good PQ using bootleg materials. BTW, ito yung pinuntahan ng proceeds ng sold secondary system ko..... kaya nagmukhang ma-aga pasko ko :D

Bro, have you tried 720P and 1080i upconverted thru the DVI-I port already on your PJ? I have read some issues regarding the upconversion thru DVI. Gusto ko sanang bilihan ng unsampling player, baka me improvement pa sa PQ thru DVI.

never tried thru DVI ... am just using component video cable, but based on the manual, best PQ on this PJ is thru DVI, second best is thru component connection.

hehe ... tnx lemontwyst. actually there were already changes on my set, pics need to be updated:
- replaced the SS Luxman preamp with a AMX tube preamp
- upgraded the monos from 35 wpc to 50 wpc done by Phasetron also
- replaced the Onkyo 501 with a Yamaha RX-V995 got here from PDVD
- on-going is the improvement on room acoustics using uratex foams (egg-tray type)
- currently contemplating on turntable upgrade (depending on funds :-\)
will update pics next week once everything is in place.................

thanks Doc .... Though I got my BenQ early Oct 2006, it's just been used for 70 hours more or less, am hooked more on 2-channel audio rather than on HT. Currently using DIY component cable (thick ones similar to those being used by cable companies) and so far PQ is acceptable to me.

Masuwerte na maka 2 films ako on a week .. last week nga ZERO eh :-[ Just bought it to
enjoy watching on BIG screen.
My Pi-10 used to be part of my set-up sa bahay namin sa province, sayang e kaya pinalitan ko
ng idle BOSE satellites ko and passive woofer paired with Pioneer AVR and DVD player.

between 13-14K mid last year, stock tubes are 2x12ax7 National Ei (Yugoslavia), 2XEH6SN7, 1x Philips 5Y3. With tone controls and phonostage.
