with aladdin r1 and the incredibles r1 ending up on mall sale events, it's doubtful if viva would be brave enough to release the r1 editon locally.

I think nadala na sila from the previous disney releases. They import alot of r1 syempre to get the lowers price. Pero hindi naubos. So naisama sa 299 sale. And we all know for sure hindi pa sila lugi at that price. wholesale price are bet $1.5-$3.pero libong copies ang kelangan.

If Viva will indeed release this, I'm hoping it will be similar to Titanic DE and Sound of Music 40th Anniv.

If you're only thinking about the movie, then I think you should wait. But if you're like me who goes ga-ga over the packaging, you should march down to the video store this instant coz those copies will be flying off the shelves in a matter of days. Baka six months from now, the only copies you'd find in stores will be re-issues, like the Finding Nemo's available now in stores.

Hmm. I think wala naman. I was referring pala to the R1 w/ holographic cardboard slipcase that was released here. Mabilis naubos. Pero I guess, depends on the movie din. The R1 Platinum Ed of Lion King and Aladdin had a long shelf life, at nakasama pa nga sa mga sales. The R1 Pirates w/ slipcase naman, mabilis din daw naubos. It's hard to predict kasi walang trend.

Anyway, the bottom line is, unless ayaw mong maubusan nung may slipcase na Narnia, I suggest that you buy it na now. For that movie and special packaging, sulit talaga ang 900 bucks.

Also, there is NO DTS track nor a Disney Enhanced Theater Mix, contrary again to what is printed in the back. Good enough, Astro SM Southmall immediately refunded my purchase.

Going for R1 release. This is a must-have collection.

I take back what I said before that you should immediately get this release. Another disappointing R3 title. This time, baliktad naman (sa King Kong). Maganda nga yung packaging, di naman totoo ang lahat ng nakasulat. Haaaaay!

The back cover has a printed picture of the R3 release showing a Map, plus some postcard/pics. Mukhang cut and paste lang from internet kasi di naman ganun yung laman. Plus the mislabeling of the "Disney Enhanced Theater Mix and DTS really did them in.

Finding Nemo R1 was released locally. Got mine at Astro Festi a couple of years ago. P1200 yata price non dati.

THis is one of my most anticipated movie release this year aside from kingkong. As i told myself once a dvd will be release will be buying it right away. But with this kind of feedback from you guys is enough for me to change my mind. Will settle na lang in buying the UK or US release as pointed out by sir hemi which is a much better release. Its much expensive but i believe worth every cents. :) :)

1. the picture at the backcover is misleading...walang slipcase..walang stills/postcards..walang booklet/map...
2. the specs says English DTS 5.1....eh, wala naman!@!
3. grabe ang mga mispellings...."contaians" , "anotomy", "sorrround"....

whats up Viva???

I initially thought that the absence of a slipcase for the digipak packaging was forgiveable. But when I got home and opened it, I was so disappointed that there was no insert and postcards as pictured on the back cover. I read through this thread and later found that there were also wrong spellings on the back cover ('Englis' and 'Anotomy'). Can't we do something about this, like complaining to VIVA or the DTI for misleading the buying public that what is pictured on the back cover is not the actual packaging? >:( >:(

Thanks for the advice, but since the DVD is already in the hands of my daughter, it would be practically next to impossible to return it --- she's already watching it and plans to re-watch again tomorrow and the following days. She loves this movie and she has been waiting for this since we watched this in the theater last January.

I've already learned my lesson to always check here before buying local releases. Akala ko kasi, okay ang packaging since okay naman 'yung latest release ng Viva ng Sound of Music.

Some say it has bad visual effects which I disagree. It's not perfect but it certainly exceeds KK in the green screen skills department (Compositing), KK's was really bad. Kong himself is quite an achievement though.

There's no link to the teasers in the main menu. I'm sure the R1 has it, like in other Disney titles (another reason to skip the R3 >:(). Does this title also have any easter eggs?

This should be the strategy to make Magna rethink their packaging - return the set. You can always say you were misled by the false DTS claim at the back. The'll be swamped with returns, they'd have no choice but to put all these on 199 sale and get their printing right the next time. ;D

1.   The package shows a Slip case, 3 Post cards and something that looks like a booklet. Wala po ba talaga yung mga
yun or I just did not get mine.
2.   The comment beside the picture of the apparent set says: “Contaians Hours of …”
3.   The printing is good and the name Narnia is embossed.

I have not watched the film yet so I cannot say anything about the quality yet.

I saw the Narnia release in HK airport last week. Problem is... I really don't know how a digipak looks like. (Haven't seen the local release, yet). It was priced at HK$ 169 at the airport.

just got mine from singapore (r3) it's not a digipack but has a slipcase. two discs in amaray case then slipcase with postcards i think.

there were two king kong versions too in hmv, one from singapore (34.99 sgd) and one from hk (priced at 39.99 sgd i think)

The girl kaagad told me "Sir R3 yan at 5.1 lang walang DTS". I told her there is DTS printed at the back cover. Sabi nya "If may DTS talaga, dapat may DTS logo". I told her to open the package and check it in their DVD player if indeed what she was telling was true. So eventually binuksan and when I went to the Set-up Menu, the choices were only English 5.1 and Thai I think...walang DTS option. So sorry, didn't buy the DVD at sabi ko R1 nalang bibilhin ko at may DTS. ;D

Hmmm... if that's the case. I'l just order again the R1 EE copy of Narnia from my relatives in the US, like what I did with the Lord of the Rings EE trilogy. ;)
