my last DVD was bought from our fellow pinoydvd member Compaq last June 13, 2002 “Barry Manilow Live in DTS”.

Ummm...lemme see...I got my DVD drive June 14, got my first DVD June 20 and my second July 9. Umm...until now wala pa akong bagong DVD...does this count?
In any case, I'll be getting quite a few when my friend arrives from the US on August!

I didn't know where this hut was until I stumbled onto it in the feedback forum. I clicked on it blindly and, hey, that place knows me by my real name! ;)

Since I started collecting in year 2000, I think my longest was 10 days (or 2 weeks, can't remember) and that is because my wife gave birth.

According to my MS Access File: about one month, but not quite. This has happened on quite a few occassions since I began collecting DVD's in December 1999. :-[
Somehow my collection has caught up with me. I still have too many sealed DVD's. Come to think of it, I still have a few sealed LD's. :-[
It becomes doubly difficult when you call your favorite DVD suppliers: Mr. Happy ;D, find some solace and comfort browsing through Astrovision like you would a book shop and smile at the thought that a much anticipated DVD is arriving. :-[

2 months was my longest drought and that includes Pirated DVD9 and DVD5 na tig 80 pesos. Well all I can say is that hard times is here.
On the bright side, I have friends that enthrust their dvds to me.

I think2 weeks now. The last I got was 5th Element R2 when my cousin arrived from Japan. I still have a Black Hawk Down R1 that hasn't arrived yet coz nobody is going back here in PI to bring my disc. :-[
Presently, all I do is rent, rent and rent! Still looking for DVDs worth buying...I am not impulsive now unlike before...

Everytime I pass by Astrovision or log in to Amazon.com, deepdiscountdvd.com or buy.com there is this little voice in my head saying...."What are you waiting for? BUY BUY BUY!!!". The only thing to shut this voice out is not to go to the malls and to log on to any of this sites.
It has been a week now...... 8) I'm cured! BWAHAWHAW! ;D

Geez....my target is at least one DVD each month but I guess the longest would be around 3 weeks. DVD collecting is indeed so additive....till at times I'm wondering if this is a worth while hobby after all :P

I started my collection on April 1998 with The Rock and Con Air and it continued until Dec 1999 with Saving Private Ryan. From Jan 2000 until the 4th quarter of 2002, I did not buy a single DVD movie!

In view Xmas is just around the corner & I believe many of us are using that as an excuse, hence splashing it out like there's no tomorrow dba? :P

So far this December, with the Astro sale and all the releases of the good movies this month...man I buy and order online almost every 3 days to a week. Guess the "calm" will start on January when all my moolah is gone.

actually one week din, from Wednesday to Monday! Tuesday kasi ang labas ng bagong titles... It all depends if there is a good movie to add into my collection. :P

This is normally the part of the year, where gift sets/limited editions/deluxe editions of the past US Summer Blockbuster are released (not only in US, around the world.. this is normally the time were Korea/Japan/Europe are packaging/releasing "better editions") .

More than a year, I stopped buying last October 2004. Nag moratorium muna ako. During that same span of time, I also stopped visiting pinoydvd, mahirap na, baka di ko maresist temptation :).
But now, I'm back to my good old ways...

this is my longest without a purchase. after Munich LE, i did not buy any dvds. i promised myself that i would watch all 300 titles still unopened.
it "dawned" to me one day that "buying" and not collecting/watching dvds became the meaning of this hobby. the realization, among other things, helped me stop and look for awhile. now, i have dedicated myself in watching and appreciating each dvd.
i may not have the slipcased release for stopping but i feel better and fully immersed at the end of each viewing session.
.. next month, i'll start buying some dvds again: V for Vendetta, Kong Tin and The Little Mermaid.

Some people have given up also this hobby, but its keep on coming back, maybe you'll only lie-low for a while, wrath, then, back again in buying frenzy.
Is it because of the new formats like Blu-ray & HD, dvds?

Dark years came to me from 2001 to 2004, and stopped collecting origs, and have 60-70 titles before those years. Only when I became a PinoyDVD member and upgraded to my current set-up did I started purchasing DVDs again...now, im planning to have a DVD diet after months of DVD SARS. ;D ;D
dami pa naman bago..V for vendetta, Inside man, Final Destination thrill-ogy, Poseidon, United 93 and so on....

A month ago. I bought Ratchet & Clank for my PS3 and I have been hooked in finishing the game. Put aside my dvd buying &watching for awhile. While playing the game, I realized that games are more value for the money than dvds. You get to play & enjoy the software for a longer time and you can go start and finish the game all over again and again. You can also surf the net for walkthroughs and cheats to finish the game faster. BTW, I am not a gamer.

2 or more months now. ::) Last DVD I got was Zapped but it was a gift from my sister. :)
I don't know what came into me but I am now having a nirvana in headphone listening lately.
