It's strange that HBO Asia has aired some of its cancelled shows here and left out this one. If you're into movies like Diner and Swingers, HBO's Entourage could be a show for you. Aside from the core story of the young actor's posse, I look forward to the celebrity cameos and especially, my main man: Ari Gold!

I was referring to shows like Carnivale. Great news if it's indeed coming soon. After all, most of us are obsessed with Hollywood, so this show could be a hit here.
Yes, that's him alright! Younger and more hair. ;D His assistant Lloyd is also a perfect foil for Ari. His reactions to Ari's antics are hilarious.

Did you buy the Season One DVD already? The hippity-hop soundtrack (Marky Mark's the producer) may be a turn-off for some, but some of the music is actually pretty good. And oh my god!! The LADIES!! THERE'S SO MANY OF THEM ON THIS SHOW!! BUT THEY'RE ALL UGLY THOUGH

I LOVE this show! The soundtrack ain't that half bad either. Using "Lucifer" by Jay-Z and Kanye West to close the pilot was a good song choice, to name one.
And I love the fact that the show is pretty inspired in choosing their guest stars (as opposed to Will and Grace... Britney? Ugh.)... Jessica Alba is an obvious choice for a guest appearance, but I also had a blast seeing Ralph Macchio (!!!!!!!!!) in that Playboy Mansion ep.
The third season just started, and while the first episode was kinda low key (by Entourage standards), episode 2 just knocks the ball out of the park, IMO. (just finished downloading episode 3, and will be watching it later)

If there was any doubt why this show is all about Vincent Chase, the latest episode puts that to rest. Aquaman is actually the puppet master of the whole entourage. And, good riddance to that new character. Bring back Sloan instead!

I just finished watching the second season. My final verdict? Yeah, this show is cool. And I'm really digging it. But I don't see myself watching the shows episodes over and over again. Also, Coco is gay.
That's why, I simply discarded the episodes after watching them. However, I am eagerly awaiting to see how things turn out in the third season.
[POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR PEOPLE STILL ON THE 1ST SEASON]
What does the future hold for Vince and Mandy? Will Aquaman break all box office records? Will Aquaman even get done? Will Drama finally get a break? Will E get more clients? Will Ari finally get an erection? Will Turtle stop being so annoying?

^^LOL, no wonder there's an ugly Advisory screen showing right now on the main HBO channel. It says, "The content of this program is of questionable nature and has not been cleared by the proper authority" (yup, grammar mistakes and all).

Okay, that makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever, since:
a. The content of HBO Asia is already heavily censored as it is;
b. The show hardly has any risque content, certainly at least 70% less than a typical episode of Sex and the City.
Has the MTRCB gone from just plain stupid to absolutely crazy?

So the difference between having only HBO Asia and paying a premium to get HBO Signature is... you get the marathon ahead by one day.

We have a couple of MTRCB deputies on the board. I'll try to ask them if it's part of their powers to send feedback to headquarters when it comes to cases like this.

Did the advisory screen specify if it really was the MTRCB who blocked it? Because when I watch HBO, I always notice those little Chinese characters below (with the green and orange backgrounds, I believe). I always thought that those were ratings provided by some other censor. Or are they provided by HBO itself?
I'm just clearing things up before I decide to submit a report. I'm glad to be of service.

I called SkyCable and spoke to a certain "Pinky." I specifically told her a report was going to be filed with the MTRCB regarding this incident, and I was trying to figure out who the 'proper authority' was that disapproved the show for airing. After placing me on hold for a long time, she returned and said they were apologizing for what happened, and that it was NOT an MTRCB decision, but a decision of SkyCable itself.
Now that really stinks, since the only reason I can fathom that they would do that would be to try to trick people into signing up for their Platinum service. I mean, even the "has not been cleared by the proper authority" note was deceptive. It certainly implied it was NOT a company decision, but rather, one by a ratings board such as the MTRCB. And don't tell me they don't know by now that the content aired on HBO Asia is already edited, since people have been complaining about HBO Asia cuts for over a decade already, and as coco_men pointed out, HBO's programs already have the green/orange asian cable ratings logos on them.
coco_men182, I apologize for tossing insults in your organization's direction - it was uncalled for, and was based on the earlier post that it was the MTRCB that did not clear the premiere for broadcast. Not to say I'm a big fan of the MTRCB, but in this case, the insult was definitely uncalled for. ;D
Now I know we have SkyCable representatives who also lurk and post here. Care to explain to us what happened from your point of view? Did you think the show would be offensive... to local actors with alalays and other freeloaders? ::)

That's actually what makes my investigation of this incident funny - I bought and watched the R3 DVD last May, and I never even tried to catch the HBO broadcast in question. ;D

Yep, the new ones remind me of the censor rating stickers from Singapore. I'll include it in my next report, when I complain about the confusing-ass cuts that I noticed in recent R-18 movies that I've seen. They're ridiculous. I doubt that they'd listen to me though, but our complaints are still worth mentioning. Thanks.

I would also suggest that you guys just give skycable the middle finger and get the first season from pinoydvd.biz (http://pinoydvd.biz). It will be worth it. No HBO Asia cuts, so you can hear everything coming out of ari gold's f****** mouth.

Called SkyCable just now and according to a certain Cristina, the MTRCB is yet to approve Entourage and they do not know when that approval will come if it ever will. That's the official explanation SkyCable is giving. I don't know if this applies to Curb and Huff too.

No, they tried to pass that MTRCB line on me as well, but when I told them I was speaking with someone from the MTRCB to investigate this matter, they recanted and said it was not the MTRCB that made this decision, but SkyCable itself. And Destiny has been airing the show regularly, so if the MTRCB hasn't cleared it, Destiny would've been sanctioned by now. That happened very frequently with Wowow on Destiny, and the channel would be blocked for 2 weeks as punishment.
Sky's deliberately misleading its customers in an attempt to get them to subscribe to Platinum. That's the only explanation that makes sense.
So subscribe to Destiny - may Entourage na, meron pang discount card sa mga motel all around Metro Manila! ;D
(Who else received their credit card-type discount card from Destiny this week? ;D)

SkyCable confirmed that they got the permit just this afternoon. They also said yes, they really had to deal with some MTRCB issues and no, the whole thing was not just some ploy for us to subscribe to Platinum. And no, they don't foresee this happening with Curb and Huff in the coming days. We'll see.

Yo, MTRCB: EVERYTHING shown on HBO Asia is already heavily censored, to an even greater degree than what your office allows. If you don't know that by now, then you've been asleep on the job since 1992.

That's the reason I was inclined to believe what Pinky from Sky told me when I first investigated the matter. It made no sense that Destiny could air it by Sky could not, if it were an MTRCB issue.

Just finished the last episode, "Sorry Ari".....this show is really cool. Cant wait for the next episodes...which they say will show early next year......Ari Gold (in one of the episodes) even did a Jerry Maguire....and Lloyd played the part of Renee Zelweger, :) :)

That episode you talked about won Jeremy Piven his Emmy this year and was nominated for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy.
The show is decent. Piven is the best part. But I have trouble watching this show because I really, really, really, really hate Turtle. I find him extremely irritating and an utterly worthless character. Few fictional characters inspire homicidal rage in me every time I see them on-screen. Turtle is one of those characters.

Can't stand the way Adrian looks, he reminds me of Zanjoe Manrudo with curly hair *blech*, while the 2 Kevins look like smarmy asswipes. And Turtle? He's a douchebag.

Entourage is getting hotter and hotter. Though the next season wont be until June-July 2008. If you're not watching this, its not too late.

3. Vince's finances drying up.....forcing him to get that odd job, either an appearance gig or commercial ad.
4. Vince gets the big movie.
5. Celebrate by getting wasted. Dont forget the Toast first.
I still enjoy watching it though. ;D

I don't think most of you don't understand Ari Gold. He's looking for intimacy not some quick fix for his p*nile urges. Not some bimbos half his age. It's a middle age thing unless you're into it. I'm glad he did it with Dana Gordon because he had a relationship prior to his wife then.
I am not expecting a good movie out of this but I'll still watch it.

after 8 seasons of fun and excitement. the last episode brought me to tears... then i ended it with a big smile and F*CK when i saw the end credits!
lucky to have seen this in my lifetime... truly an awesome show.

although maganda naman ending kahit papano, it just felt rushed sana ginawa man lang nila at least 16 episodes. they built up this sophia, a lady with a strong personality and beliefs then just suddenly gets hitched after one date. then vince convincing sloan in 5 minutes wherein E took who knows how long to fix.
whatever happened to turtle's italian resto plan? he ditched it since he's already a millionaire? lol.
and ari is stupid to not take that ceo job. and i just hate mrs ari aka skeletor.

Forgot to post my observations/sentiments yesterday after watching. It was a little hurried up, just goes to show they don't have much about to write anymore in the series. Or just prepping up for the movie huh ;D
If Ari accepts that job then it will be another roller coaster ride because Dana Gordon is the president of that studio. To which Ari's wife will have a hard time coping to that idea again. It goes full circle.
Drama will still make the movie but of course some hiccups along the way.
E will have a life in NY who will get back to LA because Vince's marriage will go south again as expected on his impulsive decisions in relationships hehe.
I think Turtle will still pursue with Don Pepe because he has more dough than ever before. All he has to do is lease that spot then boom. The movie will pick up from there. haha
What a wild imagination, we'll see hehe
