X-Men United is selling for $9.97 at amazon. that's the most value one can get from a 2-disc, DTS, fully loaded release.

Fox also is preparing a collector's edition that includes an exclusive 100-page commemorative book with an all-new story penned by Marvel Comics master Stan Lee. It is his first original Marvel Comics book in five years.

In addition, Fox is packaging all three "X-Men" movies into a trilogy pack.

Sir, the collector's ed will have the comic book but they better give a toy for the trilogy.

A sentinel's head  perhaps... ;D

Post by: dragonrower on Jul 29, 2006 at 11:46 PM
The Hollywood Reporter has done a little DVD digging as they announced the release date of the X-Men: The Last Stand DVD as October 3.

The article details the special features of the disc as follows:

    · Three alternative endings, each with optional commentary by director Brett Ratner
    · 10 deleted scenes
    · Audio commentaries from Brett Ratner, the writers and the producers
    · Preview of A Night at the Museum
    · Two Easter Eggs: "Beast reciting Shakespeare" and "The X-Jet landing in Washington"

I am sure there is more to come as those are the features on the single-disc edition. There will also be a double disc collectors edition that is said to include an exclusive 100-page commemorative book with an all-new story penned by Marvel Comics master Stan Lee.

On top of that announcement we also get word that DreamWorks will be releasing Over the Hedge on October 17.

Beyond that some speculation was made on several other summer titles including Mission: Impossible III, Click and The Break-Up as most likely contenders for October releases while Superman Returns, The Da Vinci Code and Cars will most likely hit shelves in November.

The one date that still remains in question is when Buena Vista will toss Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest in stores... I think it is an easy candidate for a pre-Christmas release, it would sell like gangbusters.

Hopefully initial reports are still unconfirmed & the CE will be 2 discs. Aside from the commentaries, noticed there are no making-of materials listed in the features. Otherwise Fox is planning to double-dip with a new 2 discs edition in the future :-\

You're welcome sir. Well, if you're after the slipcase/packaging, go for the trilogy. But if it's content you want, get the separate releases. The only question is, will there be another release w/ more content? Good luck to all of us.  ;D :D

First up, we have more details for you today on the DVD release of Fox's X-Men: The Last Stand. The title will be available on 10/3 in separate anamorphic widescreen and full frame editions (SRP $29.98 each). Each version will include Dolby Digital 5.1 EX audio, audio commentary with director Brett Ratner and writers Zack Penn and Simon Kinberg, a second commentary with producers Avi Arad, Lauren Shuler Donner and Ralph Winter, deleted and extended scenes with optional commentary, 3 alternate endings, 3 sets of animated menus (one featuring the X-Men and one the Brotherhood), the Inside Look: A Night at the Museum featurette, trailers for Daredevil, Elektra and Fantastic Four, and promos for other Fox titles. Also available will be an X-Men: The Last Stand - Stan Lee Collector's Edition (SRP $39.98), which will include a 100-page book that features an all-new custom comic written by Stan Lee, along with reprints of Lee's 3 favorite X-Men comics. There will also be an X-Men Trilogy Pack (SRP $44.98) containing all three films. As we reported the other day, a UMD version has been announced for 10/3 as well, and industry sources are telling us to expect a Blu-ray Disc version too (TBA), once Fox officially unveils their first releases on the format.

from thedigitalbits (http://www.thedigitalbits.com/mytwocentsa125.html#xspec)

I wonder what versions of the films will be included in the Trilogy Pack. (But since I have 1.5 and the X2 2-disc, I'm going for the Stan Lee edition.)

Ratner on the X-Men 3 Special Edition DVD
Source: IGN, XMenFilms
September 18, 2006

X-Men: The Last Stand director Brett Ratner told IGN that you can expect a Special Edition DVD soon:

Brett Ratner, director of X-Men: The Last Stand, told IGN that he is working on a Special Edition DVD to follow the initial release of the film on October 3. "Well, there's almost an hour-long making-of, my personal making of the movie, my experiences making the movie," Ratner said during a phone interview. "There's special features which include, you know, just basically the creation of the movie - I mean, how we did it in the storyboards and original animatics."

Good thing I hadn't make a pre-order of this one before. I was not tempted by the Stan Lee Collector's Edition since I have too much collection of X-Men graphic novels at home.

I'll definitely wait for this special edition. Hopefully, it'll sport a much better art cover.  ;)

Title: REGION 1: X-MEN - THE LAST STAND

MODS! if we have this posted already, my apologies and kindly merge with the old discussions~

IS IT TRUE THAT THERE'S AN ERROR WITH REGION 1 DISCS?  ???

i've got to check this in awhile! too bad, i'm still in the office doing my closing report...  :'(

i was just deleting so old e-mails from officemates and friends and just got the time to read an article about this dvd error. and one thing i accidentally deleted the e-mail.  :-[ now, i can't find any blog somewhere! it was about the released DVDs all over the world that some had 21 deleted scenes as a bonus over others who only has 10. and the question was how would we know if we purchased the one with 21 and not with only 10?! even said that STAN LEE CE's has 22...but there's who bought the trilogy and he has only 10. i think this is not only for US release because there's also a few people from canada, near montreal if i'm not mistaken, and from singapore who also purchased a DVD with that 10 thingie. so funny and irritating, some people's hearsay is not really the store 'cause one guy bought 2 from wal-mart, one has 21 and 10 on the other. LOL  ;D

let us all compare our DVDs to know if this is just a theory or what?! btw, others also complained about the 3 alternative endings, most people from canada and best buy versions only offers 2 choices of endings... guys, if you have read print-ups similar to this, please do share! i don't know what happened to those who have demanded for refunds and disc replacements.

if in case you are one of those who have 21 DEL scenes and 3 alt endings, can you post / encode everyting here?

By playing the disc and counting the deleted scenes.

Duh.

 ;D

Seriously though, moviebuff, the error you mentioned is discussed a bit earlier in this old thread, which I merged with your new one. If you want a list of the 24 deleted scenes, check out rafgar's post on page 4 of this thread (http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=56465.msg637780#msg637780) in the Region 3 section. You may need to check both menu options (Take a Stand and Join the Brotherhood) to see all the deleted scenes, depending on which disc you own.
