Title: Alias: The Complete Seasons 1-5 (Rambaldi Box)
Post by: tqpix on Jan 30, 2003 at 02:35 PM
From TheDigitalBits.com (http://www.thedigitalbits.com/rumormill.html):

According to TV Guide, the first season of Alias will be released on DVD on September 2nd. Executive producer J.J. Abrams told the publication a little bit about his plans for the DVD in a recent interview (http://www.tvguide.com/newsgossip/insider/030127a.asp): "There are going to be a lot of great special features. When I filmed the pilot, a good friend of mine shot like eight or nine hours of behind-the-scenes footage and did interviews with most of the cast. So, in addition to a number of other really cool features, we're going to edit together a behind-the-scenes piece on the making of the pilot."

Stay tuned...

Sayang nga eh. Had abs have stereo broadcast, puwedeng isakay sa Second Audio Program (SAP) yung original soundtrack para those who have stereo tvs can shift to the secondary channel.

Relatively successful naman yung pinoy dubbing kasi kahit maliit na bata, naintindihan yung kuwento.

For my part, I'll just wait for the DVD to enjoy the series.

They are selling an Alias guidebook in National for about P500 that includes a DVD.

Any of you bought this? Is the DVD worth the price of the book (i.e. featurettes, etc.)

DVD of the show? Or mainly featurettes? Where? Finally, I could watch this show without the horrible dubbing.

Sorry SPaCeMaN SPiFF - when I first heard about this book months ago, I searched all the National Bookstores and Power Books branches in Manila that I know of but came up empty - out of stock and they're not sure if they're going to order it again :(

When I went to the US last March, I immediately dragged my friend to a Barnes & Noble branch and made this book my first purchase - $18 (including tax)  ;D

According to Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/dvd/B00005JLF1/tech-info/103-2497004-8983857) the aspect ratio is Full Screen (Standard) - 1.33:1 (SDTV) and not the anamorphic widescreen of HDTV

Have no idea. Maybe they're using the SDTV source and not the HDTV one.

here’s some of what Syd learns about the two missing years:
* Daddy Jack Bristow has quit the CIA.
* Marcus Dixon now has Jack’s old job.
* Many, if not all, now think Arvin Sloane is a good guy.
* Some believe a heretofore unreferenced brotherhood of evil dubbed “The Covenant” is responsible for Syd’s two-year blackout.
* Eric Weiss is still with the agency, and becomes Syd’s new roommate.
* Marshall Flinkman is about to become a daddy, having presumably knocked up colleage Carrie Bowman.
* Will Tippin is not in the opener, but will return briefly at some point.
* Francie Calfo (or does TV Guide mean Allison “Evil Francie” Doren?), like Will, is also not in the opener, but will be back somehow.
* Justin Theroux (“Mulholland Drive”) will turn up as someone who seems to have porked Syd during her lost months.
* Lena Olin will be back as Irina Laura Derevko Bristow.
* Syd learns something that causes her to flog Vaughn silly in the third season’s opening minutes.
* 3.1 will end, naturally, with a startling revelation.

Just finished watching season 2. This boxed set is definitely worth it. The ending does not dissapoint and is worth the hours vegetating in front of the TV. Word of advise to those who don't know how the season ends, skip over the ads at the start of disc 1. It has a teaser for season 3 which basically spells out how season 2 ended.  ;D
