Been waiting for this one for sometime now.  R2 were released earlier this year...now finally R1 will be too...

The other three titles (Sound of music, Oklahoma, State Fair) are similar to their previous 2-disc versions?

Already have all of them in one way or another...double dipping time.  It gonna be a loooooooong two months!

According to the article reposted above, yes.

Thanks.  The excitement got ahead of me.  Rereading the post above, it's clear as day, they are the same two-disc version from before.

So now my dilemna will be whether to get the whole set or the three new two-disc ones. :)

I know the feeling. As it is, it'll already be a double dip for The King & I and South Pacific for me. I'm not really a big fan of State Fair, Oklahoma or Carousel, but... I'm usually a sucker for "completion."

Hay.... ang hirap maging addik!  :-[

This is a nice excuse to triple dip on The Sound of Music! I bought the R3 40th Anniversary Edition, but I was kind of disappointed with the included postcards.

Not really, since the 2-Disc R1 has NO FREEBIES included at all - no songbook, no miniature lobbycards, so you'll be triple dipping for even less than what you got on R3.

Ah talaga? O well. I'm still drooling over this collection. I've been wanting to have one for years. Thanks for the heads up anyway!

OT:  Yeah, but wouldn't DVD be obsolete by then... the way nobody uses a VHS now? ;)
