Title: Help on my new Setup... newbie pa lang kasi
Post by: ledrahc on Sep 08, 2006 at 01:23 PM
Finally.... hehe, magkakaroon na ako ng sarili kong HT this weekend.
Though, most of my items, specially yung speakers, eh temporary pa lang, habang nag-iipon pa. Inuna ko muna yung AVR.
I'll be getting my HK335 tom.
And while nag-iipon ako for the speakers, i decided to buy muna a temp speaker from my Friend.

Mura na ba to? Kasi feeling ko, sobra swerte ko na, sobra mura.. hehe kaso nde ko talaga alam dahil newbie lang ako sa ganitong hobby..

Subwoofer : BOSE Acoustimass SE-5
Front : Wharfedale Diamond 8.1
Center : Yamaha CRS-156(r)
Rear : Yamaha CRS-156(r)

all of them for 6k... mura na po ba, o lugi??? hehehe...

another question, one of my friend told me na baka nde daw kayanin nung front ko yung HK335. ano po pwede nyong ma-advice sa akin? oks lang ba na gamitin ko ito as temp speakers habang nag-iipon?

another question po pala.

Or not use the sub at all, connect the other speakers and set fronts to LARGE.

avr===>bose sub=====>wharf/yamaha using speaker level outputs. papadaanin mo ung speaker wire from avr to bose and then your speakers. the sub should filter out the low frequencies and send the mid-high freq to your other speaker. i just don't know what this will do to your impedence level. the bose sub kasi was designed for satellites

Bro, just a sujestion lang,

ET414 has a good point of getting your set up done,  and thats simply the same as putting your sub configured in a parallel manner with your front speakers. parang siniseries mo lang sila both on one wiring connection.

another route would be is using both A/B speakers together. one for each, spk. A sa fronts and spk B for the passive sub. and then just manage their settings from the AVR para balance lahat ng tunog.

dont worry abt the AVR, stable ang amp sect. nya to 4 ohms, "kung di ako nagkakamale."
so ther sould'nt be any prob w/ it. just be sure na pag ginawa mo na ung connection eh safe lahat, walang magaground sa kahit anong wire.

hope this helps bro.

CHEERS! :)

I am not sure how the accoustimass sub module wires the satellites.  But if it has some crossover elements to feed the sats, the suggestion of ET414 should be fine.  The AVR will still see an 8-ohm load.  Using the spkr a and spkr b together will tax the avr, consdering that the wharfe has a nominal 6-ohm load.  In parallel with the 8-ohm bass module. the effective load is 3.4 ohms - something the AVR will not be happy driving.   ;D
