its listed as 1080p capable not full hd, there is a difference. If its listed as 1080p capable then it should be able to also display a 1080p signal but would be downscaled and converted. Yes i was using an hdmi cable from my upscaling player.

Both Toshiba 37C3500 and Panasonic 37LX75 are not full HD but HD ready TVs.  Nevertheless, Toshiba C3500 supports 1080p while Panasonic LX75 supports 1080i.

i think in japan, this model is 1080 native (full hd), but for the asian models it is only 768 but 1080p/24 capable. bought this set, kaso naka kahon pa, still have not set this up. will let you know how the picture quality is. but during testing (upon delivery) what i notice is, maganda naman ang picture from an ordinary dvd (progressive scan) source. for cable viewing, oks narin.

type regza asia in google it should take you the regza asia site. because if you go to toshiba japan site the set is listed 1080 native resolution (full hd)

but gaya ng sinabi ko if youre reallly into lcd ok ito c3500.

saw that unit when I was scouting for a flatscreen TV, but the price of the panasonic was truly irresistible, like Otepsy said, which would you choose if the price of a 42in screen is much lower than a 37in one, if your space is not a problem, try looking at the panasonic, very satisfied user as well here...!

Good luck

I went to Sights and Sounds today to purchase a 32"/37" LCD with a native resolution of 1366x768. My budget was budget 32K for a 32" and 40K for a 37" LCD. I'll be connecting the LCD to my desktop computer for the following purposes: 50% movies, 20% gaming, 30% browsing.  I brought my PC loaded with ripped BluRay and HD-DVD titles (720p/1080p).

I was planning on getting the Panasonic TX32LX77 since its the cheapest 32" LCD and with lots of good feedback and reviews from PinoyDVD members.

Here are the units that I auditioned (All in default settings):
1. Panasonic 32LX77 - 32"  - I was very disappointed with this unit because the texts were blurred, almost unreadable.  It looks to me that its native resolution is lower than 1366x768.  I also don't like the picture quality because its too dark.  I think this is not recommended for HTPC use. Tweaking the LCD settings did not help. ???
2. Panasonic 37LX75 - 37"  - I was very disappointed with this unit because the texts were blurred, almost unreadable.  It looks to me that its native resolution is lower than 1366x768.  I also don't like the picture quality because its too dark. I think this is not recommended for HTPC use.  Tweaking the LCD settings did not help. ???
3. Sharp 37AX5M - 37"  -  Text was fine. Dull colors.  Poor contrast. Pixels looks obvious. Black text doesn't appear as black as it should be. A straight line would appear dotted line. :-\
4. Samsung LA32R81B - 32" - My computer detected this LCD but was not able to display anything on the LCD.   >:(
5. Hitachi LA37S01 - S-IPS Panel which made it 10-12K more expensive than the other 37" LCDs.  Accurate/vivid colors. Texts were excellent.  ;D
6. Toshiba 37C3500 - Accurate/vivid colors. Excellent brightness/contrast. Texts were excellent. ;D

So my choices were narrowed down to:
1. Hitachi LA37S01 - 37"  and its 32" version
2. Toshiba 37C3500 - 37"

Both displayed excellent picture quality, however, it looks like Hitachi uses a hard display panel, somehow glossy, which makes the pictures appear vivid.  I think the Toshiba 37C3500 can achieve this effect by adding a custom Acrylic Screen Protector courtesy of Cham_E_Lyon and Tantric of TipidPC.

I was about to purchase the 32" Hitachi but then I noticed that its picture quality changes when viewed from a different angle, 30-deg or more (vertical/horizontal) from the center of the screen. Same with the Hitachi LA37S01, the picture looked different, it appeared washed out.  The Toshiba, Panasonic and Sharp do not have this problem.

So, after 3 hours of auditioning the LCDs, I ended up buying the Toshiba 37C3500 which will be delivered on Monday. Oh! Another PinoyDVD member was there, I forgot his ID, also auditioned these LCDs which were connected to a BluRay player. He bought also the Toshiba 37C3500. ;)

Thanks to Sights and Sounds, the very accommodating staff, and to Mr.Vic who never get tired of responding to my never ending SMS inquiries.  Glad to meet you personally at your shop today sir. I won't hesitate to recommend your shop to my friends and do business with you again. More power!

This is really a very comprehensive review. A comparative, honest to goodness, critical observation of which TVs really shine both for movie and PC. Of course, there are plenty of good 32 to 37" TVs out there in the market, but there is one thing everyone is aiming: how little money should he pay for a quality set.

Good work for a nice review. And by the way, thank you for buying TV from us.

akala ko ba default setting yung review mo bro .. bakit "tweaking did not help?"
so 3 hours (of auditioning and tweaking) was long enough to see their optimal settings for an htpc?

All LCDs were in default settings when we auditioned it side by side.  Pinalitan namin settings nung Panasonic dahil nga blurred yung texts nya at images sa desktop.

Para mawala yung possibility na PC ko yung may problem, we played "Transformer" on both Toshiba 37C3500 and Panasonic 37LX75 LCDs (both in default settings) using a Bluray player.

Recommended talaga na dalhin nyo yung PC nyo kasi you might be surprised how the LCD performs with the configuration of your PC.

Do you own a Panasonic LCD?...  Good for you kung maganda kinalabasan nya sa HTPC mo. Congrats!  ;)

I was there last saturday with giospike.  we auditioned 4 lcds; sharp, panasonic, toshiba and hitachi all 37 inc models.  I agree with giospike review above and prefeered the toshiba.  Panasonic was in my priority list as recommended by the members here but i was dissappointed to see the black levels are too dark and the highlights were washed out and no details.  My preference goes to toshiba, hitachi, sharp and panasonic in particular order.  hope you can do the same audition when you have your shortlisted model so you will be satisfied with your purchase.

I'd like to thank Vic of S&S for their great customer service and patience during our 3 hours stay.

Giospike, will pm you later.

Kakadeliver lang nung 37C3500 ko kanina. Expected delivery time was about 4PM but it came 2 hours early! Free installation din.  Galing talaga ng Sights & Sounds! Always exceeding their customer's expectations!

Eto yung text nya macro shot:

Sobrang linaw! 1:1 pixel aspect ratio nya.

Eto naman yung desktop pag 1360x768 ang resolution, medyo malaki.

Advised ng Sights and Sounds, play around with the settings muna daw at icheck for dead pixels. After a few weeks, saka daw ako magpareschedule for free onsite LCD calibration para maappreciate ko daw lalo difference after ng calibration.

Thanks again to Sights and Sounds and Sir Vic! =)

post ko lang reply ko kay giospike sa tipidpc.. ^_^

@giospike
thats really weird since bago ako nagplasma .. 2nd monitor ko yung panasonic 32lx77 .. and i never had to change any settings .. stock ika-nga ..

ngayon gamit ko lg 32" na plasma readable yung text pero sa taong di 20/20 vision mahihirapan talagang basahin ... ill try to post some pics of my lg32" plasma while browsing tpc ..
nagawan namin (with fellow tpc members) ng paraan dati yung sa 42" pv70 plasma rin maging malinaw yung text pero itong lg baka sa friday na ...

btw paano and san mo tinweak yung settings? sa windows ba or sa lcdtv?
if both then pano mo tinweak yung sa windows? sa lcdtv?
na-activate mo ba yung "text" option sa lcdtv? napalitan mo ba yung text and font options sa windows?

nagtatatak lang talaga ako bro kasi sakin walang naging problema sakin yun panasonic lx77 .. too bad i had to change my display from lcdtv to plasma kasi if i should mention 1 weakness sa lcdtv, that would be sdtv viewing .. sablay talaga lalo na at destiny cable ang gamit mo   :(
kungdi lang nagrereklamo gf ko sa C/S channel and discovery, yan parin sana ang gamit kong tv ..

@giospike

That's what I thought. Ineexpect ko malinaw lahat pati sa text without changing any settings. Sa Panasonic lang may ganitong problem yung PC ko. Kasi sa Sharp, Toshiba, at Hitachi malinaw yung texts kahit default settings yung PC ko at LCDs, unlike sa Panasonic na blurred talaga.
ahh .. there are 2 ways kasi to do this ..
1. thru windows font adjustment .. (this is a must when youre using a plasma display)
2. text options via the lcdtv (sa remote easy accessible)

Goal ko rin kasi is to get 1:1 pixel aspect ratio. I need to figure out how to get 1366x768 resolution on my LCD. 1360x768 lang kasi meron sa ATI. Try ko na lang yung Powerstrip, baka magwork dun.
maganda talaga ang PQ ng LG .. especially when using it to watch regular programs sa cable .. but if HD na yung source halos pareho na sila ng panasonic lx77 ..
pansin ko lang sa series 4 ng samsung matabang yun kulay, sa hitachi ganun din kungdi kulang, sobra naman sa kulay .. adjustable pero naisip ko, what if pangit yung media .. wala ng way to adjust the settings kasi adjusted na by default ..
you dont need to use powerstrip since 6 pixel lang ang difference .. sablay pa since forced yung resolution sa powerstrip .. but i think it helps din naman in a way ..

Yes. 1360x768. Available sya sa Windows display properties at ATI Control Center.  I'm using Powercolor HD 3850.

Wala yung option na  1360x768 na resolution when I was still using nVidia 8600 on my old 32" LCD. I could only set it to 1280x720.  Try Powerstrip (just Google it), you might be able to set it to 1360x768 or  1366x768. I tried this before and also adding custom resolution on nVidia control panel pero wala talaga.

Is your video card driver updated?
Kung may onboard video card motherboard mo, have you tried it?
Are you using a HDMI-HDMI (with DVI adapter) cable or a VGA cable on your 32C3500? Check mo lang kung may difference.
Kung available, try mo iconnect sa ibang PC with an ATI video card.

Hi Giospike,

How's the performance/picture quality on cable tv viewing?

@raptor
I haven't tried using this LCD for TV viewing and I don't intend to. Wala kasi ako cable sa bahay and I already have a 14" regular surplus colored TV for watching standard Philippine channels just to keep me updated :-) Binili ko talaga 'tong LCD na 'to para gawing monitor ko sa PC to play ripped Bluray/HD-DVD movies, gaming at browse rin pag minsan.

Generally, LCDs are not recommended for SDTV or regular cable TV viewing. Mas maganda daw kasi sa Plasma dahil mababa ang resolution nito tulad ng an ordinary TV.  You might want to check LG 32" Plasma. Daming good feedback at maganda daw for watching TVs and DVDs. Mababa lang resolution nya, 852x480.  Hindi daw night and day ang difference ng LCD at Plasma ng PQ for TV viewing pero malaki daw difference.

You may want to check this thread, http://tipidpc.com/viewtopic.php?tid=88421 (http://tipidpc.com/viewtopic.php?tid=88421) which includes comparison and actual close-up photos of an LCD and Plasma display, or demo the actual unit at Sights and Sounds or Theaterworks.

You might want to check it personally at S&S or TW kung may difference sila sa PQ.

My PC is running on Windows XP. Ininstallan ko lang ng Vista Transformation Pack para magmukhang Vista.

Dati gamit ko yung Nokia phone ko to control my PC through a Bluetooth connection and Salling Clicker mobile/PC software. Now, I'm using a Logitech 610 2.4 GHz Wireless Laser mouse and Logitech MX5000 Bluetooth keyboard to control my HTPC. Yung Logitech 610 has 11 assignable buttons to any media player on your PC.

I agree with you ninjababes regarding the panasonic 32lx77.
We have this unit too and after reading the post of giospike regarding the text issue with his pc, I quickly tried out my pc and everything was crisp and definitely readable. I surfed the net, opened ms word and played games and everything was excellent.
We wanted to purchase and even ordered the toshiba by phone but after comparing it side by side with other lcd's in S&S, we noticed the great PQ and natural reproduction of colors(not overly vivid) of the Pana.
Its only drawback is cable viewing as compared to a crt but still definitely watchable.

Thanks kalash! Care to post some close up photos on how the texts look like on your Panasonic?

It's a good thing that you personally compared the LCDs at Sights and Sounds.  Ako rin eh, I was really decided on getting 32LX77 and willing to order by phone and pay through COD which S&S offers.  I was relying on the good feedback and reviews from fellow PinoyDVD Pana users.  Buti na lang sinipag akong pumunta ng S&S the following day at bitbitin yung PC ko.  Sobrang excited ako itest at take home yung Panasonic, that's why I was really disappointed nung nakita ko na sobrang blurred nung texts.

When I auditioned the LCDs at S&S, we used HDMI-DVI and HDMI-HDMI connections. The "blurred text" issue occurred with Panasonic 32LX77/37LX75 only.

After some Googling, I found out yesterday na may issue pala talaga with DVI/HDMI connections on some LCDs as experienced by the people on these threads:
http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion/index.php?t27107.html (http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion/index.php?t27107.html)
http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/showthread.php?p=1366987 (http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/showthread.php?p=1366987)
http://www.techsupportforum.com/hardware-support/other-hardware-support/178723-solved-blurry-desktop-text.html (http://www.techsupportforum.com/hardware-support/other-hardware-support/178723-solved-blurry-desktop-text.html)

According to them, blurred yung text on their LCDTVs when they used DVI. The blurring disappeard and texts became clear when they used a VGA cable/adapter or connect it to the VGA input of the LCDTV.

I'm just not sure if this issue also applies with Panasonic 32LX77/37LX75 and if the staffs of S&S are aware of this.

Siguro kung natry ko yung VGA at naging clear yung texts, Toshiba 37" 37C3500 and Panasonic 37LX75 yung naging final 2 choices ko.

So if you're interested on getting an LCD for your HTPC and you encounter this problem, use a VGA cable.

Post by: kalash on May 29, 2008 at 10:14 AM
Probably, it is with the dvi connection since I only tried it with a vga cable. Does your vc have a HDMI connection or you converted the dvi to hdmi or dvi to vga? About the pics, maybe when I have time to disconnect the pc and connect it to the lcd tv since they are located at diff. areas.
It is still best to compare all the tv models and decide what fits to your taste and needs.

Whoah! additional 20K? Hindi ko sure eh. As long as the size meets your needs, sulit na siguro yun. Pero syempre the bigger the better lalo na kung for watching movies purpose mo.  Pero for HTPC, baka malakihan ka na sa 42" lalo na kung limited space sa room mo. Try mo rin iaudition personally. Yung iba kasi 50" LCD pang HTPC nila.

i think if you are going 37", the c3500 is tough to beat at its present price (42-45k range), but if you are going 42" i suggest you get the panasonic pv70 which is winding down as a model (while supplies last), its going for 54k right now. so its really up to you, so if its lcd go 37" if its a 42" you want, go for the plasma.  ;D goodluck.

Title: LCD detected but no display when using an HDMI cable
Post by: GioSpike on Jun 11, 2008 at 06:07 AM
HELP!!!  :o

ISSUE: My HTPC detects the Toshiba Regza 37C3500 but doesn't display anything.

The Toshiba Regza 37C3500 has 2 HDMI ports and 1 VGA port.

I connected both Samsung 2232GW 22" LCD and Toshiba Regza 37C3500 on my Powercolor 3850 with 2 DVI ports video card (latest driver).
Dual Display Setup:
1. Samsung - using DVI cable (DVI-DVI)
2. Toshiba - using HDMI cable (HDMI -  HDMI w/ DVI adapter)

I set the Toshiba LCDTV menu to HDMI input then turned on my PC. I got display on my Samsung and it detected the Toshiba LCD. I set the ATI display settings to clone, extended, dual display, but I didn't get any display on the Toshiba screen.

Other troubleshooting steps performed:
1. Changed the resolution to 1360x768, 1280x720, 1024x768 and 800x600. Changed refresh rates.
2. Selected "Force TV detection" in ATI display settings.
3. Used a different DVI-HDMI adapter and an HDMI-DVI cable (No adapter needed).

The manual says that the Toshiba LCD should work with an HDMI-DVI connection, I don't know why mine isn't working.

Here's what it says on the Toshiba Regza 37C3500 manual:

I'm only getting display on my Toshiba when I'm using a VGA cable (w/ VGA-DVI adapter) on my HTPC.

Anyone here who encountered the same problem? Please advise. Thanks!

bro napagana mo na yan dati diba? ano last mong ginawa bakit nagka-ganyan?
naglagay ka lang ba ng 2nd display? if yes, ano yung 2nd display mo?
try the 37" as your primary muna .. if successful tsaka mo na tweak para pagpalitin .. usually kasi nagkakaganyan pag nagclone yung display eh .. nakukuha yung settings ng 22" (1080p) mo ng 37" (720p?) .. hth
update mo kami .. ;D

Bumalik akong S&S kanina at dinala ko ulit yung PC ko to check kung HDMI port sa LCD ko may problem.  Ganun rin ang nangyari eh.  It says on the manual that HDMI only accepts 480p/i, 576p/i, 720p (1280x720) and 1080p/i (1920x1080) signals. 1360x768 yung settings video card kaya siguro walang display. Nagwork sa 1280x720 resolution yung HDMI pero nakakabit yung PC ko sa HDMI splitter box, then yung C3500 nakakabit dun sa splitter box.

Sir Vic was so kind and considerate that he offered to replace my LCD with a different model, so I tested the 32LX77 again.  As advised by ninjababez, I checked the PC settings on the 32LX77. Default pala nya eh XGA. Pinalitan ko ng WXGA umokey na sya, medyo naging clear din yung text but not as clear as C3500. Wala naman ako budget sa higher model or Plasma kaya hindi na rin ako magpapalit.

I'm really happy with my Toshiba 37C3500 lalo na ngayon naconfirm ko na na walang problema sa HDMI ng LCD ko.  Coming from someone who personally auditioned the LCDs at S&S twice, I recommend this for HTPC, great text and PQ.

I'm really happy with my Toshiba 37C3500 lalo na ngayon naconfirm ko na na walang problema sa HDMI ng LCD ko.  Coming from someone who personally auditioned the LCDs at S&S twice, I recommend this for HTPC, great text and PQ.

service unit lang nila yun 32" bro?

Alin dun? Yung Panasonic 32LX77?  Ewan ko. Tinest ko yung mga nakadisplay sa shop nila. Default settings at pinalitan ko lang to WXGA yung PC setting. May plastic pa yung outside panels nung iba.

@giospike,

for your peace of mind... yun akin c3500 din wala display pag connected to DVI-->HDMI adapter.  pero pag sa dvd player HDMI output ok sya.  I suspect may problema yun conversion ng signal from dvi to hdmi pero sabi mo ok pag iba lcd gamit.

Thanks for the advice. As mentioned on my earlier post,

Its an issue with the LCD as confirmed by bongerds and when I did another testing at S&S. Pero okay lang, text and PQ for HTPC is still better on the 37C3500 as compared with other LCDs (based on the test I did and the configuration of my PC). Atleast I have 2 unused HDMI ports on my LCD that I might use in my next upgrade.  ;)

here's my idea on giospike's problem. Could you give the specs of your videocard?what is its output? DVI-D(single link) or DVI-I(dual link)?what type of DVI-HDMI adaptor did you use?DVI-D or DVI-I? If your videocard is DVI-D, then a DVI-I DVI-HDMI adaptor is ok to use but if your videocard is DVI-I, the DVI-HDMI adaptor you should use should also be DVI-I capable. Reason for dual link (DVI-I) is if the single link (DVI-D) cannot accomodate the bandwidth required, the second link is automatically used. if you are using DVI-D, that might be causing the Toshiba not displaying anything as the adaptor cannot accomodate the signal bandwidth. this is just my idea and i dont have the hardware. you should try this first.

My ATI 3850 has 2 DVI-I dual link ports capable of accepting single/dual link DVI-A/DVI-D cables/adaptors.
I've used the following cables and adapters:
*HDMI to HDMI cable + HDMI to DVI-D dual link adapter.
*HDMI to > DVI-D dual link cable (No adapter needed).
*Tried 4 different cables and adapters.

A DVI single link can display a resolution of 1920 x 1200, while a DVI dual link can display a resolution of 2560 x 1600. I only need 1360x768 so I don't think its an issue.

Okay na ako sa VGA since yun naman talaga PC input nung 37C3500 at sharp yung text nya for HTPC, but could have been happier if the HDMI PC input worked.  :)

Sabi nga nung friend ko, mas maganda daw talaga yung text sa Toshiba LCD. He just purchased a Panasonic 32LX77 and he noticed that the text is not as sharp as the Toshiba, parang cloudy.  I dunno, it could be the video card or cable he is using.

I hope other C3500 users could try this and see if HDMI input will work on their PC.

how about HDCP? could it be the culprit?

i would help you research more on this problem as i've decided to buy one pag uwi ko ng Pilipinas based on your review. i saw your post on the lcd/plasma pricewatch and that full HD toshiba LCD is very tempting. kung nandyan lang ako ngayun akin na yung isa nun.mas mura pa compared dito sa japan. by the way the regza c3500 series here in japan is already full HD. but more expensive than what is posted in tpc.

have you tried a DVI to HDMI cable. i've read somewhere some guy have similar problem with ati 3850 and toshiba LCDTV using dvi-hdmi adaptor. and using a direct dvi-hdmi cable solved his problem. he also mentioned that there are two versions of ati dvi-hdmi adaptor.Rev.A and Rev.B.he said that Rev.B does not have that problem, but unfortunately he has the Rev.A.

some more opinions on HDCP. since the LCD can only detect a video signal from the HDMI source, HDCP might be preventing the video to display as it is incomplete media content (lacking in audio).these are just probabilities. the toshiba might have the problem communicating with the media source as the content is incomplete. implementation of HDCP on the toshiba might be the problem.

I hope we could really fix this.

I dunno if its really an HDCP issue since I'm getting no display as soon as I turn on the PC and even I'm not playing High-Definition content on non-HDCP protected files.

I also tried DVI to HDMI cable, hindi nagwork. Ganito ginamit ko.

I also tried different adaptors and it did not work.

I guess its really an issue with 3850 and Toshiba since other people are experiencing the same problem:

So I’m the proud new owned or a 1080P TV  and I’m trying to hook my computer up to it for photos, music and movies. I just can’t get it to extend over to my television

Windows detects the second monitor
Windows knows what brand of monitor is plugged in
Windows allows me to drag items over to the other monitor
Windows allows me to set the resolution correctly to 1920x1080@60hz
All I get on the TV is a nice pretty blue screen when I am on the HDMI source
(won't even show anything at low res)

Computer: Quadcore 2.4Ghz Q6600, 4GB RAM, 4x500GB HDD(64 bit Vista Ultimate), 1x500GB HDD(32 bit Vista Ultimate), Sapphire Radeon HD3870 512MB card (comes std with HDMI Adaptor)
Television: 42 inch Toshiba LCD 42X3500A Fulll HD
Monitor: 19 inch wide
I have installed all the latest drivers and ATI Catalyst Software and have had it going using component at low res however I can’t get anything to display on HDMI. I have tried an expensive Monster HDMI-DVI adaptor and the standard adaptor with an HDMI cable.
The ATI Catalyst software also has a “Force TV detection” option that you are meant to click if the computer doesn’t detect the TV (doesn’t work)
I have fiddled with the advanced setting on the TV and in the ATI software and still nothing 

Any advice would be appreciated

I still don't think that it is an HDCP problem though.
HDCP is only for playing back HD video like Blu-ray etc.
HDCP won't stop the BIOS or Windows desktop from showing up on the TV.

im quite sure its toshiba's implementation of HDCP. as you said there is no problem with the 3850 since nagdisplay siya sa samsung. maybe masyadong mataas ang iq ng metabrain ng regza. ;D

by the way, is it capable of displaying local/cable tv broadcast at its native resolution (525 lines - 640X480?)? i dont mind the small picture size as long as the picture is not stretched/degraded.

Just to share my own experience. I recently purchased from S&S a Toshiba 46X3500. I tried to connect my MacBook Air which has DVI output using a DVI to HDMI adapter. Same story, my Mac recognized the TV and could even display all the resolutions the TV was capable of. However, nothing came out of the display. I posted this at the Mac discussion site but no one provided any replies as comprehensive as I saw in this forum. I've stopped trying to get this to work for the meantime.

Side-by-side comparison at default setting, Toshiba really has better picture than Sony.

Delivery is on its way to your place. Thank you for buying TV from us.

Hi guys,

Has anyone resolved the PC Card DVI-HDMI issue? I am interested in this unit for an HTPC and am concerned about the connection not working. =(

Just to add on the PM I sent you earlier...

As I mentioned, it may be the video card, this issue is common to ATI 38xx series. The HDMI-DVI connection may work on the current configuration of your PC if you are using a nVidia or older ATI graphics card.

By the way, I got the HDMI connection working through an HDMI multiplier at S&S. I did not notice any difference in comparison to VGA connection.

May bago yung Toshiba, I did some testing and it performed great on HTPC. Some screenshots here: http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=81148.msg828226#msg828226 (http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=81148.msg828226#msg828226)

@GioSpike

Ah ok. Thanks for the info bro. Really helpful. =)

I actually have an Nvidia 8800GT card so I'm crossing my fingers.  :) I'll really see if I can bring in my system to check it out.

But the fact that you and the guys at S&S found a way to get it to work also through an HDMI Multiplier makes me more at ease with getting this unit, if ever. At least there is a back-up solution if necessary.

@Sir E-Reply

Can I request a PM of your lowest price for this unit. Thanks to Giospike and the rest of the very helpful guys here I am strongly considering this as my next purchase for my HTPC. Thanks in advance and God bless. =)

same sya. it actually has 3 codes a, e and t. dito sa atin its e. its region coding, as far as i know, no major difference in form and function. i think the 37" is only 42-45k now. pag may stock. because i think there is a newer model available already. but for me its a pretty good panel for its price.

I bought this recently from Jeff. He has few remaining units left.

I chose this over 37AV500 because it really accepts 1080p (via HDMI from Toshiba HDDVD).
For 37AV500- Selecting 1080p at HDDVD setup menu, front display shows only 1080i.
For 37C3500- Selecting 1080p at HDDVD setup menu, front display shows 1080p.

Brightness 500 against 450cd/m^2

Also, Panel Response Speed is faster at 6.5ms against 9ms.

I think 37AV500 evolved from 37A3500. Whereas, 37CV500 from 37C3500.
Feeding 37A3500 with 1080p results to blue screen (can't accept the signal).
37CV500 I believe is not yet available in the market.

Just purchased a CV500 from sights and sound and I think it really has the best pic quality for the ps3(main reason why I got the unit), The panasonic, also from Sights and sound, however runs pass this unit in terms of DVD/Blu-Ray quality.

SPECIAL MENTION TOWARDS THE SERVICES OF SIGHTS AND SOUNDS

Vic, has probably the best service, beating your average retail chain store, If I compare this guy's service to an HDTV allow me to say this much. He has the quickest response time and a blur free after sales service(everything is clear, nothing hidden). Allow me to add that the guy delivers the deepest blacks I've seen in this kind of business.

Thanks vic!

using it in PS3 is good. Nice colors, graphics, everything provided you have the correct settings. Got this 2months ago from sights and sounds, and until now i'm still amazed of how it looks and the way it produces the picture. Plus it is 37". for me, it produces enough brightness so that your eyes won't get stressed. just my 2cents.;)
