post nyo lang po what titles yung must haves n highly recommended especially with the outstanding picture and audio quality. yung tipong pang demo material. TIA! ;D

bluray discs are still relatively expensive, so if you cant really buy alot, buy titles that you dont mind watching again and again for your own entertainment... para sulit.

Then you can judge with your own size kung ok sa yo ang PQ or not. Scores ng online reviews are kinda fuzzy in my opinion and iba iba ang taste ng reviewers. File size is only about 50MB so kayang kaya maski 512Kbps na PLDT DSL.

I agree dun sa previous posters. Kung selective ka, top category ng selection mo is kung GUSTO mo talaga yung film. Kung di ka selective, then go ahead and get something like Resident Evil.

Sunshine, pede nang panoorin ng 1 time din, but I wont recommend to buy. End part sucks.

Anyway to each his own.

Overall Grade would encompass PQ, AQ, the movie itself, supplements etc. - in a nutshell Total rating of the disc. hi bro jeyps11! Know what, I did see the review... BUT i still got a copy of the BD. ;D Just couldn't resist seeing J.A. in the blue. I already viewed it and it's not bad at all bro. I mean of course the plot is thin, but the visuals and location are just stunning. Don't despair bro, am sure you'll enjoy it as well. Cheers! ;)

The first type so that you can have reference materials (just in case you want to blow the minds of your peers / family on HD clarity), and the 2nd type for your own personal enjoyment, something that tickles your fancy - indulge yourself.

Well the perfect situation is if a title hits both guidelines. ;)

Isipin mo naman - The main advantage of Bluray over normal DVD (SD) is its improved audio and video. That's why you pay a huge premium. E kung pangit ang audio and video ng Bluray disc, di bumili ka na lang ng SD and use an upscaling device to improve the picture.

I would only buy a Bluray disc if it has good audio and video + it's a movie I like.

I dozed off watching Resident Evil, but I was glued by Breaker Morant.

King Kong is the most visually stunning non-animated HDM I've watched but I've seen it only once. Notting Hill on the other hand is available in all sorts of video formats in the house and I just re-watched it last Sunday for the nth time while cooking.

Yup. It's a hit or miss situation unless you want to read the reviews first before buying the movie that you like in BD. That kinda holds you back in buying that BD if the reviews aren't favorable. Who would want to pay a premium and then feel being ripped off? Why don't they just standardize the quality of BD in both PQ and SQ so everyone would be happy? It's not like comparing HD-DVD (35GB) to BD (50GB) anyway. I sound like a noob here. ;D

I don't usually believe in REVIEWS.. Some movies na pangit ang reviews, para sa kin maganda. It's subjective pa rin eh. Meron nga movies maganda ang reviews, pero sa kin hindi ok.

But those reviewers are supposed to be experts, or IMO trying too hard to appear as experts by critiquing a movie beyond what a reasonably knowledgeable guy wouldn't and couldn't see through his own HDTV.

I'm not pushing piracy but if you can somehow manage to download even a sample 720p or 1080p rip, that I think is a more reliable way of judging the PQ of the original, if you really want to check out a title of interest. Your own eyes have it!!!

1. don't buy this. nakakasawa. sayang lang.
2. don't buy this YET. a better version will likely be made available in the future. nakakapanghinayang.

natural..yung releases right now are for profile 1.0. Down the road, BDA would finally figure out how to match the functionality of the dead HD DVD format. ;D ;D ;D

Then they can release the ones with more special features like that of the dead HD DVD format ... ;D ;D ;D

and then they'd finally exceed the functionality of the dead HD DVD by 2015... ;D ;D ;D..

and then definitive collection... and then remastered...and so on and so forth...and then BD would be dead too... ;D ;D ;D

To me casino royale has very nice pq..I haven't compared it to the dvd copy bec my wife misplaced my casino royale dvd somewhere. Bad trip, but you know us guys we cannot get mad at our wives ;D..

As far as i know, during a demo from SONY, i really noticed its excellent PQ coz i can really notice Daniel Craig"s blue eyes shining and clearly plus Eve Green looks exotic when formally dresssed in a scene inside the casino. I'm really tempted to buy a copy but i cant find a used 1 below 1k. By d way is ur casino royale the one w/ japanese subtitle or exclusively a US release copy?

It doesnt rate a perfect PQ rating coz the colors are oversaturated for me, which makes skin tones unnatural. But the three-dimensionality you are looking for a HighDef title is there, and details expecially skin texture is near solid.
