baka matagalan pa bago magkaroon. coz blu ray disk is still very expensive. The target return of investment can not be easily achieve. Ika nga mahal ang puhunan madaming paikot pa rental bago makabawi.

Here in Canada, the rental fee for both bluray and regular dvd are the same.

Any new development? I still do not want to spend a fortune on a movie I will only watch once or at most twice

Parang meron ako nakita sa V-Mall na store na may banner na "Rent Blu-ray Movies" pero I didn't ask since wala naman akong Blu-ray player. Not sure if marketing tactic lang nila yun or nagpapa-rent sila talaga. They have Blu-rays displayed on their shelves.

I also wish they have this here sa pinas. But I don't think this will ever happen in the near future, baka nga never ever. They really have to get rid of piracy here in the Phils. first for rentals (even purchases imo) to succeed. Also truthfulness and credibility of people is impt..With tons of titles/great pricing the pirates offer its just impossible for dvd rentals to succeed. Mas lalo pa blu-ray, bec some may not rent blu-rays bec. I think majority "may" have below 50 inch screens. Yun "puede na dvd" comes into play again on smaller screens. On my 32 inch I don't see blu-ray worth it. Opinion ko lang..However, it may be more worth it to rent blu-ray talaga vs. dvd any which way you look at it, but market is too small and costly nga. Pero I would rent blu-ray for the price of 150 to 200 pesos ;D..Monthly membership of 1,500 to 2,000, unlimited rent? hehehe :D ;D

They are crazy, nuts ;D..12 thou forget it. I will understand if its 12 thou a year, unlimited rent, with hundreds and hundreds of titles. By the way, I called the place mentioned by funkyhunk above, they have daw few titles, Quantum, hulk, maybe ten titles overall. Rent is just 50 pesos ata (have to reconfirm). I was shocked, this is a great price. I wanna go there to check it out but its kinda far for me. Traffic lang pagod na ako ;D

Hopefully there will be more of these places where we can rent

I am planning to do rentals of my Blu Ray Discs....medyo madami na din  :).  Still finalizing buss model but I am looking at 1K Membership and 1K Deposit (To be refunded) and 50 pesos rental per disc. You can rent upto 2 discs for 5 days.  There will also be an option to deliver or shipped for an additional fee.  Let me know if this is reasonable so that I can finalize things - Erick (0917) 881-4000

btw i suggest that you raise it to 70-80php for the rental fee, in that way you can expand your library titles faster ;)

There's also an alternate ending and a mayan calendar horoscope. maganda siguro panoorin ito with a nice HT set up. yung nga lang, magagalit ang mga kapitbahay mo sa ingay. i was just using my tv's speakers and i had to turn it down a few times.

PQ is excellent specially when watching the effects.

I'm new to Blupass. Registered yesterday afternoon around 2pm or so and rented my first movie which was supposed to be delivered today between 8am to 8pm.

as of 7:49pm the delivery has yet to arrive but it shows "This movie is on it's way to you." and "Status:Intransit"

20mins later when I checked again, it now shows "The Delivery of this movie has failed. Details: [blank]" and "Status: [blank]"

is this common, Blupass missing scheduled deliveries?

my first rental was delivered just around 15 mins ago. asked the guy if he's the one handling all deliveries in our area, he advised that he was just a reliever... anyway, hopefully future deliveries would go as scheduled. i find it odd that their current system does not allow the subscriber to manually re-schedule the delivery himself, i guess it simply assumes that the customer would be available the next business day in case of failed delivery.

Hi Rthirtyfourgtr,

We apologize for the failed delivery. Aside from the status that you would see in the website, you will also receive text messages that tells the exact reason why your delivery has failed so it is highly encouraged that you add your contact number in the delivery details that you would fill-out when renting Blu-ray movies so you are updated real time.

Also, failed deliveries are considered backlogs and will be automatically delivered the next working day(s), unless, change of delivery date is requested by the customer. This can be done by contacting the customer service rep via email at [email protected] or text at 0918-8733778. All concerns regarding BluPass Blu-ray rentals will be gladly entertained.

Thank you very much.  :)

^ Ok, noted. For some reason, even though i provided my contact no. and you already have my email address, i received no such notification as to why delivery failed. possible due to the way i out my number in (+639xx xxx xxxx instead of 09xx xxx xxxx)

anyway, i hope your rental operations continue to grow and provide good service at reasonable cost. looking forward to subscribing to either gold or platinum plan come renewal time should everything turn out well.

Thanks!

Hi 45caliber!

In as much as we would like to grant your request, the service is part of Samsung promotion and we have to abide by their rules and mechanics. Currently, the promotion is open only to customers who purchased the Blu-ray players BD-D5100 and BD-D5500 or other Samsung products bundled with the said Blu-ray players.

However, we will be escalating your request to the right people in Samsung. We will be posting updates and any changes via our thread here in PinoyDVD. Please visit http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php/topic,156499.0.html to learn more about the BluPass unlimited Blu-ray rental. Feel free to post your questions, comments, or feedback there.

Thanks!

Alvin
