Title: True Blood
Post by: AshKetchum on Jul 23, 2008 at 09:03 PM: From Alan Ball (Six Feet Under) comes this weekly HBO series based on the Southern Vampire Mysteries books by Charlaine Harris.

True Blood takes place in the fictional small town of Bon Temps, Louisiana, where humans and vampires live out an uneasy co-existence after a Japanese-made synthetic blood called "TruBlood" becomes widely available.

Anna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress who becomes attracted to one of the vampires (Stephen Moyer).

The series will premiere on September 7, 2008, with Ball writing and directing the pilot episode. A rough version of the pilot has already been leaked online though...

As for Moonlight, Alan Ball made this snarky comment about that show: "I think it's pretty lame when you let your vampire go out in the day just because you don't want to shoot at night."

I seriously didn't think Paquin would shed anything on the show. Like the token actress that won't drop trou because the rest of the no name co-stars have shown enough already.

CAn't wait for Season 2. Bitin at 12 episodes lang first season. I really like their take on the vamps.

incredibly boring, good riddance to the whiney character "eggs"

i had bigger expectations from an HBO production.

Rome had a spectacular season 1, ok season 2.

True Blood had a great season 1, dismal season 2

Gone are the sopranos type shows, where it only crashed in the final season (but put in lots of good seasons)

Season 1 has been released in local stores since 4th quarter of last year. Try to look around various stores.

Recently I just completed TB Season 1 & contemplating if Season 2 worth it. After reading various negative comments I'm now hesitant. Probably will get when a used bargain copy is available.

I am afraid that the writers are in a tight deadline to write the scripts. Some of the scenes could have been translated on the small screen better. Parang pilit na ginagawang exciting ang plot.

Glad to hear that Ash. I enjoy season 2 more than season 1. Will start season 3 as soon as I complete the other piling up "back-log" tv series (supernatural & 24)... :D

the best part of the season would have to be russell and talbot, especially russell's crazy news telecast ending with "Now for the weather...Tiffany?" ;D

This is off my must-watch list next season. It's "can watch if you have time."

It has bled many seasons ago and just like the vampire that it is, it has sucked all the ideas out of its writers. A wedding, a banquet, kids. Did a 10 year old write this? Goodbye True Blood. It's the true death that you deserve.
